No team could win with this many key players out.I'm not a big fan of the coach, but most of the slander towards him, the QB, and anyone else is over the top and absurd. The team, including the coach, the OC, and the QB cannot be properly judged until the team is relatively healthy and not playing 3rd and 4th-stringers all over the field. So why are the niners undefeated?Ravens putting 30 up and winning with a backup qb and backup linemen?

If Hurts starts getting 24 points or more (with reinforcements coming) in the following games are we gonna say there's improvement here or say oh it's just the Panthers, Cowboys, Commanders and Giants. Or come up with the defense carried him? And if we lose 28-27 or 31-24 in a couple of them, what will we be saying as well? The offense should have scored more? The haters I'm sure have a plan here. I'm just getting prepared here. EOD, looking for Ws in whatever fashion. To scratch and claw back to a good season record and be relevant. Hopefully making incremental progress throughout. Also, maybe special teams can contribute to a victory or good coaching. Many ways to win here. The Eagles and Hurts have scored more than 24 points 4 times in the last 23 games. Let’s just see them actually do it first.

It's not a "crazy hypothetical."But, since I am intellectually capable of entertaining your side of the equation....I assume you are defining the "following games" as the 4 you listed. The 2026 Eagles are averaging 18.4 points per game...29th in the NFL.24 points per game would be the 13th ranked offense in the NFL right now. It's also a nearly 2 point per game improvement over last year. So, yes...if Hurts averages 24 points or more over the next 4 weeks, I would say that's improvement. Because it objectively would be improvement.Okay. Great. I have stated many replies ago if you weren't skimming, that if he is the absolute cause of losing then I am going to consider not extending this early. I may have implied that, but you had to read into it. But that doesn't preclude him to coming back next year and redeeming himself anyway. I said I'd keep an open mind. I just see him being who he's always been in being resilient overcoming any bumps that come along. And will outlast the coach here. Will say that clearly. Think he ultimately gets extended. Not sure when.

Will the Hurts Huggers admit Hurts has declined or will it be all excuses like usual? Honest with how bad the Cowgirls, Skins and Gunts are on defense, there should be zero excuses not to score more than 18 plus. 24 should be a very achievable metric for any offense against those scrubs.

I'm really just looking at the missed points left on the field we had with a bad roster and in the last 2 weeks playing against better defenses. Will see if more points coincide with better personnel and worse defenses. On paper, they should score considerably more with those 2 factors. And just getting more reps with the OL. I'll be concerned if they don't.

You know what they did. They got him a great RB and upgraded the OL, which still his has 2 All pros on it. And they go to town with their HOF DC and HOF offensive mind. Maybe it just isn't the QB? Correct. Howie has not been that good, especially last season. And his roster management has been horrific. And let's go compare Andy Reid to our CEO coach. This is a major deficit we have! Almost embarrassing. Like at @Diehardfan keeps saying, the QB is way down the list of problems on this team. And he is not even a Hurts guy. He can rationalize and see the whole picture.I think if Hurts had ever thrown for 5,000 yards and 50 TDs in a season no one would be pointing fingers at him.

We all know that Hurts is not a pretty stats picture. But he wins. That has merit in itself. He's uncanny out there in that way and doesn't beat himself. You have to earn your victories against him.

Exactly where that threshold lies is the subject of debate. If he's not extended in the offseason...it's a thing. Franchise QB's do not play out the last guaranteed year of a deal without getting offended and angry. This contract was structured to be extended after 2026 (>42M cap # gets re-distributed to allow Howie to reload in FA) or terminated after 2027.

At last. All heads should be rolling if they are doing 18 points consistently. I am not anticipating that. But I'm not ruling it out. But the constant discrediting that has gone on with him on any of his achievements have always come with a caveat. Instead, that he is just a good QB.

Kind of what I'm doing. I think we can tell if a QB bombs. We saw it clearly with Wentz. I think these 5 games were almost like preseason for many reasons. Looking for my NFL roster still and squinting.

He is the leader of one of the worst units in the sport and on pace for being the worst second half offense in the history of the NFL.

Right now this is more of a transition year with OL developments of 1st month, which are not unexpected. This evaluation may be looked at differently because of that. It's tricky. I just don't see the Eagles giving up on any seasons transparently or willingly. Yes. This season could go the route of 2020 where injuries beset them and they end up playing youngsters and scrapping this 1 year. But it won't happen till much later. 4-5 or better by the bye, Howie will likely keep plugging and not concede.

They were just good to very good. How do you know what we see? He is my QB in several fantasy leagues, and all I do Sunday is watch football.Last year he threw for 3587 yards in 14 games, Hurts has topped that once. Year before he threw for 3928 yards, more than Hurts career high. Year before that 4183 yards. Lest year he threw 22 TD’s in 14 games, 1 less than Hurts career high of 25. 26 and 27 the two years before that. Yes, Mahomes numbers the last 3 years have not been HOF level for him, but Hurts barely sniffs those numbers and you are talking HOF about him.

Clearly, it's not a fluke as he got us to the big dance twice. So just dismiss this right? He can't do this again. He's 28. Hes done! Yeah... So when he doesn't do it, it is his fault. But when he does do it, everyone else was responsible and he was along for the ride. Silly talk!
