I’d give him a good faith shot at edge with at least a full offseason to bulk up. Has the frame, good enough length, has some experience to build off of. Let him focus there 100% instead of going back and forth. If he can’t hack it, ship him off. Draft people gotta stop propping up great athletes with crap for brains at certain positions (QB, S, ILB come to mind).

The OL and WRs. It actually raises the level of the team. In fact, the pass blocking was quite good. But they didnt know what to do with blitzes. The run game was also awesome in pre-season.It's as if, yet again, another year the OC can run a good offense when Jalen isnt playing but within a few weeks of Jalen starting, the offense turns to crap. Our pre-season offense always looks promising and then we dont see them run that stuff anymore.Remember the passing to Steele? Releasing him through the c gap and fun stuff like that? Now we dont pass to the RBs hardly at all. When we do its simple dump offs. Nothing fancy. The facile answer is 1 QB didn't play any snaps in PS, the rookie played limited snaps in PS and the majority of snaps went to McKee and Dalton. People can make their own minds up for why those plays aren't there and the O looks a little vanilla at times.

Fact of the matter, is that the QB can't do his job without everybody else doing their job and vice versa. The ridiculous amount of focus and discussion about a Superbowl winning MVP is tiresome.Yeah, we know he isn't perfect but we also know he can win a Superbowl and be MVP b3cause he is done it. He isnt being benched and he isnt being traded in season so figure out how we create the surrounding circumstances (players, scheme) that allow him to do his job. Because I guarantee fng ty with this makeshift OL that McKee isnt riding in to save the day. Give it a rest already.https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/carson-wentz-eagles-49ers-doug-pederson-20201005.htmlWentz won against 49ers missing 8 offensive starters in 2020

And now it looks like crap in the season. At some point it’s time to consider that it just is crap.

He is undersized and was a QB. He is too soft to block and unable to run NFL routes. How could Howie have known he would have been a bad pick???!!!

Yes, he's won us a superbowl and won the mvp and I appreciate that but he plays a lot of games terribly. Now that he's gotten a bit older he doesn't want to run unless flushed and then it's the same flush right race to the out of bounds. Players don't stay the same forever.

Wednesday at 02:36 PM3 days I miss this being the Eagles Blog. It’s turned into the Hurts Blog. I’ve been a blog poster since the beginning, so I understand it will go where it goes. That said, there is so much else going on with this team. I’ve read rumors that Howie is looking for a veteran o-lineman to acquire via trade. It’s probably just lazy reporting, because he’s basically always looking at various possibilities. But I would be hesitant for him to add a o-lineman this way. First, good ones are rarely traded….even teams tanking teams are usually holding on to linemen that are worth anything. Secondly, I’d rather he hang on to all his draft capital for now.
Wednesday at 02:39 PM3 days The OL has been and still is the #1 issue with the team since last year. They'll get better and the offense will magically improve. It would be great if we could run the ball forward again. It would be amazing if the QB wasn't met with a free rusher every other time he dropped back.

If they have their center and RT they need two guards or sign Steen and get one. So one or two guards and a TE. That's not massive. Defense is going to need more. I hate Davis is getting money that could have kept Riq. They will need a CB2, safety, and an edge. Wouldn't be shocked if Blank gets cut and they bring him back even though it's not my first or second choice. I wouldn't mind Trott being resigned.Every team has needs. That isn't bad.

Perhaps the coaches and FO should have bitten the bullet considering how much changed O on and how iffy it looked, that giving the starters a series of 2 should have been a priority just to push the learning/scheme changes earlier into the process. The coaches are now scrambling to find what works.

We need to remember that the Jags are a pretty good team and it was a freak loss, the oline played okay in pass pro there.

Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts?Josh is "better" in that he definitely puts up more numbers stats wise, but people act as if he doesn't have a good team or great players around him, which is absurd. That said, he also makes a lot of dumb/boneheaded plays and has cost his team wins and opportunities. When the Bills get eliminated because Allen has 2-3 fumbles and a pick, the narrative is "he needs help."In this whole "if" hypothetical, Josh Allen could come play for the Eagles, put up amazing stats and simply keep falling short because that's just who he is. There's a reason why he has owned the Chiefs and Mahomes in the regular season, but just consistently chokes against them in the playoffs.

Wednesday at 03:14 PM3 days Think they need to focus on Guard as the number one issue on this roster right now and long term. Think the pass protection could be passable and serviceable (with Lumpkin and love him as a reserve), but if they can't ever get a running game going forward to balance things out it won't matter. Need to be better on 1st and 2nd down and we are getting stuffed. This is the root of our problems. Need to solve it. Last game spelled it out. 1 yard per carry. Even with a backup, that's just horrible. There's talk about Nelson, but they are asking for a 1st rounder. So that's not happening. If that price comes down to a 2nd & a lower pick and equal to the compensation you got from Jurgens, then I am jumping on it. Who wouldn't trade Jurgens for Nelson? Howie will figure the contract out later. This conference doesn't impress me. Hate to see another year fly by where no one is really that good and you keep taking a step down. Bears had an effed O-line and started addressing issue with guys like Thuney in a trade (who was 2 years older) and built from there. This does not have to be a 2-3 year rebuild there. But there needs to be a stabilizing force there if we have any hope of doing anything in the near future. Defense is built to win now with guys in their prime. I don't think Carter and Davis age that well. Baun is getting older. You're either serious or you're not about winning.
