I find it admirable you guys are in Jalen hurts corner defending him. Cause sometimes it’s way overboard on this board with him.Just like HE’s undying defense of sirianni. At times it’s over the top with him too. However, there’s a point where you guys both sides go overboard in your defense as well. Like no offense I’ve seen people on this board tell me that Jalen hurts is better than Patrick Mahomes and Stafford. No he’s Fing not. Both have won a Super Bowl and league mvps. I love the Eagles, but I’m also in the realistic universe where I watch other football teams. Like there’s a better quarterback out there than Jalen hurts. No crap that’s reality. There’s a better coach out there in the sirianni. No crap that’s reality. There’s better general managers over the last year and a half than Howie. No crap that’s reality. That is the world we live in. You’re not always gonna be the best or have the best nor absolve from blame or criticism.

I’ve said this before, if the Eagles want run the scheme that Sean Mannion truly wants to run then I don’t think you can have a head coach that’s not indoctrinated in it and not knowledgeable in it. Because he can’t help when they have problems because that’s not where his specializes in. Imo hurts is not a fit for this offense. He’s never been a fit for this offense. This is not what he does best. And if he’s not gonna be asked to run or he doesn’t want to run, then that severely hurting the Eagles offense. Because when they drafted him that was part of his allure. So the offense does not turn it around when guys get healthy and their pass offense which the previous 3 years was bottom 1/3 of the league then there’s a good chance neither one of them are here by 2028. And that’s not me hating on either one of them cause i don’t think either are awful. That’s called the reality of the NFL. I don’t think Jeffrey Lurie is gonna sit there and be like you know what our passing off has been bad for the better part of 3 going on 4 years. Let’s just keep running it back. At some point he’s gonna make a big Fing change. Unlike the Phillies.

Im not overboard in my criticism or Hurts, nor my defense of Siriani.

I completely agree that there is a chance Siri will need to do. I just want to see him with a real QB first because its pretty clear to me that this team can put up a lot of points, and when that happens the games wont be close enough to get blown on calls like kicking it off with 8 seconds left.

That's the thing I'm not on team Hurts. The fact that even I'm defending him should say a lot. It starts at the top with me, especially after the coach lost them two games.

but your last sentence is the overall problem. They’re all problems. So it doesn’t really matter what the top problem is. They all need to be fixed. Frankly howie should get a lot more blame. He and lurie decided to sign off on system change, 1st year OC in Mannion l, allowed stoutland to leave due to allowing what happened in 2025 and he has a bunch of players on this team that don’t schematically fit the system.

We'll disagree on one point. When the HC blows two games because of his decisions the problem matters. All the other issues aside that should not happen. There is no fixing stupid. The rest do need to be fixed and there is a lot to go around, but CEOs get fired and blamed when one or two decisions are that blatantly bad. He's also the biggest reason to not have hope for a turnaround. He can't stay out of the offense and drove the best OL coach in history off the team because of it.

Agreed. He beat himself by being stupid. Very avoidable. We get outcoached on a weekly basis when it comes to making sound decisions and in game adjustments. All of that falls on him. Roster talent evaluation hasn't been great either. I'm sure Howie is also in charge of that and it is collaborative. If he's a CEO coach he needs to be elite in that department. He has a bad feel for the game right now and being able to think quickly on his feet. He's coaching this team as if he has the 2024 roster and leaving points on the field weekly.

Simple point was that people are pointing to Hurts with backups as the reason he's not playing well and we lost

I found a game where the offense was missing starters but still won

Keep your straws. I didn't start it

I mean, if you were looking to do that, then why not use the last game of 2019 against the Giants?

Wentz had lost all three WRs and was playing with Greg Ward, Robert Davis, and Deontay Burnett. Their TE was Joshua Perkins, who had to replace Ertz. Lane Johnson was missing, and Brandon Brooks was carted off the field. Miles Sanders blew out his knee.

He led them to a win against the Giants. That was when Boston Scott became the Giant Killer, scoring three touchdowns, and they won the division that day.

This was a much better game to use for making your ludicrous point.

It wasn't Wentz specific. I was just looking for any QB on any team. Thanks for finding another one though

Don’t get me wrong, i think sirianni has the same fate as doug when he leaves here. Frankly, the Rams game, I really don’t blame him for going for fourth and goal at the two to make it a three possession game. Again analytically the Eagles want him to do that. Doug Peterson, regardless of who’s healthy or who’s not healthy would’ve done that and people still wouldn’t have been happy about it. even though Doug did that routinely in his tenure here.

Didn't Howie already re-do Dickerson's contract to make it less painful if he retires sooner than later?

23 minutes ago, Diehardfan said:

If this is true then Hurts is absolutely being set up to fail. Like I've been hearing on here many times by certain posters. You are right, where you think that Sirianni still has hands in the cookie jar with this offense and has not stayed out. Hurts needs to tell him to STFU and this is what I like and stop being such a good soldier. Putting a square peg in a round hole and forcing sheet with dumpster fire plays.

So the coach that went to two Super Bowls and won one is setting up Hurts to fail by running the same offense that took them to two Super Bowls and won one of them.

Ok.

You live on knife's edge as a CEO coach, gain 2yds and cover a kick and you're a winner that stole 2 games as a heavy underdog; you don't and you're the millstone dragging down the team.

I don't agree with his decisions the last couple games, but I have low opinion regarding this team's ability to execute. It might be odd to think that way as a HC.

Cool we are still talking about Josh Allen vs. Hurts….

The problem is neither one of your guys side is going to change the other. So it is like Randy marsh trying to catch the dragon on the video game.

Last thing I’m gonna say is there was conversation on here how about Matt Stafford is an overrated quarterback when he got sent to the Rams. That he wasn’t a winner and he’d lose (by this i mean not win a Super Bowl) with the rams as well. Since then won a SB and a league MVP. So the book on hurts and Allen is not yet finished.

He was overrated. He had never done anything to warrant all of the praise he was getting. Below .500 record while with the Lions, ZERO playoff wins, and he had issues with INTs/turnovers. It wasn't that he wasn't a "good" or solid QB, but people were acting like they had landed the best QB in the league. He and Goff weren't much different than the other, and I felt like they gave up on Goff way too soon.

Also, the problem I have is that fans and analysts gave Stafford his flowers after he won a SB with the Rams and didn't question him. They didn't point to the fact that he was on a loaded team with many elite players on that Rams defense, and elite WR's/playmakers on offense. People also don't bring up how Stafford couldn't even win a playoff game with Detroit. Now you have all these people saying Hurts has to prove that he wasn't carried by a great roster, as if Stafford wasn't in the exact same position. Both players had great rosters and great playoff stats in both of their SB runs, but Hurts has the slightly higher QB rating and the Super Bowl MVP.

edit. yeah, your laughing emoji just proves my point. being objective is something many within this fanbase lack. @e-a-g-l-e-s eagles!

What two games? Rams would have won even if they kicked a FG, if they get a TD, game over. Defense has to make a stop.

With 8 second left, a touchback would allow one throw to get 15 years and into FG range. Eagles lost a game that way in 2017.

A 40 yard return ends the game. Should have squibbed kick and let it bounce around, or high kick, but not line drive to a top returner.

Real problem is they couldn't run for 1 or 2 yards, burn clock and not get knocked backward and make the kick tougher.

Howie gambled he could get one more season of at least average play out of LD and Jurgens and Lane wanted his farewell tour.

If you could have waited until November, and gradually work the kids in, probably a much better result.

And even with this line, Bigsby could probably churn out short gains through sheer power.

You are the specific person I’m talking about. Nobody’s ever good enough or better than Jalen hurts. You make every quarterback is not good. Dude it’s OK that there’s better quarterbacks in Jalen hurts. We live in a world where Jalen hurts is not the best quarterback. That’s OK. You’ve also told me that Patrick Mahomes is not that good.

Furthermore, Matt Stafford had one of the worst organizations over the last 50 years running things. You know how bad that organization was at putting talent around him. He had Calvin Johnson, who round up retiring early because of that dysfunctional organization. Yeah, I’m guessing he’s probably not gonna be as good because he’s playing for the lion who were a dumpster for better part of 50 Fing years. You also told me that last year he was overrated. He won the Fing MVP. Lol No offense, I’m pretty sure if you put Jalen hurts on the organization of the Lions and how they were running things when Matt Stafford was there, his career does not look nearly as good as it has with the Eagles.

It’s quite amazing what happens to Matt Stafford as soon as he leaves the Lions and goes to an organization it’s not completely dysfunctional prior to when he left. I don’t know maybe some of Matt Stafford’s unluckiness of playing for that dumpster fire organization was why he wasn’t having his talent maximized. I’m guessing if he was on the Eagles and not his career would’ve went differently. Situations make sometimes your career.

I think some of you are so delusional about how good of a job Howie Roseman is done to prop up everyone in this organization since he gotten back here in 2016. They literally had one of the best rosters in football in 2024 and one of the best in the last 25 years. They’re the best offensive line. The best defense. Arguably the best 1-2 combination of wide receivers. A good tight end. And the best running back in football. And yet tell me where the lions ever had that in his entire tenure with the lions.? Yeah because it didn’t happen. furthermore, when Patrick Mahomes won his Super Bowls, their teams had floss. The first time he won it, their defense wasn’t all that great. They had a good offensive line and great skill position players. And frankly, they lost their best running back because he beat a woman. After they traded away Tyreek Hill, their wide receivers were not great. He still had Travis Kelce. And their offensive lying deteriorated. I brought this up before we played them in 2022 and 2024. But instead of having a better offensive line and better scoop position players, they had a much better defense. But they were still flawed teams. I can argue that 2024 team. They didn’t have a flaw, beside for the fact of passing game stunk most of the year.

Oh, so it's OK to make excuses for why Stafford couldn't get it done in Detroit, but we can't do the same for Hurts?

Also, maybe you lack reading comprehension? I never said Stafford was overrated last year, I said he was overrated prior to him joining the Rams. Learn how to read.

Lastly, I never said Hurts was better than Stafford. Stafford is a better passer period. I only brought up the fact that both QB's won with loaded rosters, but they aren't asking Stafford to prove he can win with no help, because that question has already been answered by his 12 seasons in Detroit.

"everyone needs to get off Nicks back"

BG: nods in agreement, "yea"

OMG BG IS SAYING NICK IS SETTING UP HURTS TO FAIL

I'm gonna bring reality back in here. This is a 4-13 team with Tanner McKee. 2-15 with Andy Dalton. This is what we got. So get over it. And offer up a solution in how we get better THIS YEAR. And not your wet dreams of 2028 & 2029. That's an eternity from now.

Go ahead and help. You crucify Wentz because Doug stated to Lurie and Howie that he intended to move forward with Hurts as QB1 -- that's been public record because Brett Favre said Pederson told him so, and Troy Aikman also confirmed Doug told him that. So, you wish to crucify Wentz for not wanting to "compete" for a job the head coach had already given to someone else -- but you're idolizing Hurts for refusing to compete with Tua at Alabama and choosing to use the transfer portal to find a starting job elsewhere at Oklahoma -- which is exactly what Wentz did in getting traded to the Colts.

Got it.

Carson Wentz has been gone for six years yet you clowns STILL gargle his balls in here every chance you get.

WENTZ WASHERS are just like cockroaches, you will never be rid of them lol.
