Going to be very interesting how they handle Landon. I want to hope he is improved, but obviously that seems like a longshot.

Right… roll Again absurd hot takes to bring down other QBs. I get it, it’s your shtick. God forbids you have to actually admit other QBs are good or other teams are better. Regardless of a Qb is playing well like last year with Stafford. He and the rams stunk …

i have reading comprehension problems… no you said "passing the ball”. QB encompasses more than just passing the ball. So no my reading comp is just fine. It’s you who just didn’t want to say BETTER QUARTERBACK. So maybe it’s you and your weak defense there. Lol

You said "I'm done replying" so what is it?

I have no issue saying there are a number of QB's better than Hurts. I think you just can't accept that you don't read good 😅

He doesn’t look as fleet footed anymore. Maybe that’s just me but he looks noticeably slower.

If his legs are close to being off the table, that’s not good. Cam Newton went from MVP to marginal backup when his legs went

I think the ship has sailed on the designed runs unless you are talking about the spread QB draws. If Jalen could mix in some scrambles directly up field rather than rolling right for the throw away/self sack rinse&repeat, that might help matriculate the ball down the field.

WRONG! Mantegna never had a starring role until the David Mamet film House of Games which wasn't until 1987.

Sometimes I mix Mantegna up with Alex Rocco, who was Roger Meyers Jr. in The Simpsons, Moe Greene in The Godfather, and played Bea Arthur in Family Guy (The Joe Swanson Story)

What is the drop off rate for guards after 30?

Our guards are retired or crippled before age 30. 😅 But that isn't the norm. I think he gives them a very good 3 years. We have no other answers. They can use a vet and leadership. Can't have all young guys and expect to win now. This accelerates our chances. This team has some growing pains to go thru but that alleviates some of that. He's still very good. Even if it isn't him exactly I don't think Howie can sit on his hands here. Bears got Thuney and got better fast. And he was older.

How about if he signs him to an immediate extension as part of the deal? I look at it as Jurgens for Nelson. We are too in love with a 2028 draft pick we just got and probably wont help til 2029. Can recoup that in other trades later. I am tired of talking about stashing picks while the product on the field is sucking. Just making a trade like that can energize a whole squad.

No and I'll reference the Phillies again. High draft picks in football equate to top minor league talent in baseball. The Phillies have been doing this for years and it hasn't helped them a bit because the underlying roster the Phillies rental was brought into wasn't good enough for the rental to help them get to the promised land.. In fact they keep getting bombed out in the first series. Nelson would surely help. He was a great guard and still may be very good. But the Eagles underlying roster is too deficient to get them past the first sound if they even get there.

I could be wrong I admit. Nelson is not some stiff and locking him up for another 3-4 years would be nice but it doesn't seem like Howie wants to pay big money on offense. It may happen as Howie doesn't seem like the kind of guy who wants to throw in the towel.

yeah emojis don’t make your point better. You said "better passer”. Did you say "better quarterback” ? once again better QB encompasses more than just passing the ball. Also didn’t have to say hurts was better we’ve had discussions last year where you downplayed Stafford (basically bashing every chance you got) and played up hurts.

If Hurts doesn't run the ball he's a bottom-quartile QB in the NFL.

With Mannion and Patullo every QB has been.

The Chiefs gave up a 4th for Thuney and that was in the offseason so he had OTAS and training camp to get acclimated to Ben Johnson's offense. It is a good comparison to Nelson but the compensation and timing wouldn't be close to giving up a 2nd for Nelson with say eight games to go in the season. The Eagles would need to get back a 4th in the trade.

Are we expected to see the Mailata-Lumpkin-Kendall-Steen-Bell OL arrangement this weekend? I still rather see Willie at center; Bell while not good looks like a better use of reps than Fred at this point.

I think you're getting caught up on semantics. He's a better quarterback, passer, player, etc. To be clear, Hurts is better at running, but when I said 'passer' I was inferring that Stafford was better at the position overall. I wasn't singling out just that aspect of their game

I keep forgetting we even rostered Bennett.

I'm not quick to throw away picks. But this one is awhile from now.

That works! Given the time frame. If they get him ASAP, it may cost a little more. There will be competition for him. Thuney was 2 years older and probably not quite as good. Nelson is the more road grader type profile that we can use now for run blocking.

That doesn’t sound promising for smith or Barkley tbh.

I usually don't care too much when someone misses Wednesday. If they aren't at least practicing on a limited basis tomorrow, then I will be concerned.

No team directly coming off an overseas game should ever face a team coming off a bye. That’s ridiculous.

I think the Devonta leaving concerns me more. Hopefully just precautionary.

He could be "healthy" but I don't think it'd be for long. Best to just rip the Band-Aid off now

Maybe Howie can trade him to some team that has no clue on his injuries like the Ravens lol

The primary hope on the OL is that Landon returns to form. If by some miracle he does, our OL could be solid:

Mailata | Dickerson | Kendall | Steen | Bell, with Lampkin, Johnson, etc as depth.

Not interested in burning premium picks to trade for a veteran in what looks like a lost season.
