EMB Blog: 2026 Regular Season (Part 1)

As I replied before, this thread is just CVON political partisan groups with bias arguing with each other all day with extreme takes, bad logic, double standards, cherry picking stats, moving goal posts, straw man arguments, hyperbole and emotional overreactions. Some people seem to care more about sticking it to some other fans than how the team plays. I remember when people used to say the blog was a respite from TATERs and featured intelligent, rational discussion. If anyone provides any semblance of balance they're attacked by a circle jerk of people that hate Hurts or Siri no matter what they do, or want the team blown up. If anyone is critical of Hurts or Siri you have guys that are homers towards them and defend them at all costs with ridiculous arguments and reaching. It's a cesspool like Twitter or Reddit.

As a reminder, I warned y'all here about this after 2023 when this all started. I was mostly deflected for getting on people for having double standards, poor logic, and being unfair because people were "just venting".

Well. Here we are. Now we're here acting like dudes on a football team killed our firstborn. Long fall for the blog.

Well it certainly seems that way now lol

Imo Kuper was also the worst sell out of the 3. He was awful with Minnesota. Their fans hated that guy. Everything coming out about Kuper wasn’t great. Like they should’ve known that guy was trash. I don’t think the injuries have helped, but I also don’t think he’s very good as a coach.

That’s said they should’ve known to hire a senior assistant based off the fact of what happened with Brian Johnson in 2023. And even Patullo probably could’ve used that last year too.

Greg Olsen is the one to watch. In his final year in his contract with FOX and will never jump Brady to be the #1 color analyst. I can see him joining Buck and he's very good. FOX also dropped his salary from $10 million down to 3 after Brady joined.

I like Olsen's delivery but I watched a game recently he had a few facts/statements tht were just off or completely wrong, but you're right, he is definitely one to watch.

I read an article where ESPN is trying to get Kelce to stop using the word "we" when he is calling/speaking on Eagle's games/content, evidently some fans have been complaining. That has to be a very difficult transition, it's not intentional, at that point in a former players life it's just natural, he'll be fine in the long run.

No explanation for that kind of fan behavior

Seriously, isn't spirited debate and football talk the reason the EMB exists? Don't be so hard on the master-debaters...

I don't know all of their names. Some I'm ok with and some are annoying. I'd mute them and just have the crowd noise if I could

Peacock was adding Dolby AC-4 personalized audio that was supposed to be able to let you mute announcers

Odds Jason Kelce takes over for aikman?

I think Kelce has a ways to go to be a good color commentator. He does have good thoughts and explains the game well. I thought he was OK during the Jags game but he talked too much.

People forget Tom Brady was awful his first year as a commentator. I actually think he’s one of the better ones now. Frankly, he was always good when talking on podcast or interviews. Can hate Tom Brady the quarterback/football player. But he has been great in like podcast and just interviews for a while now. He gives you so much in-depth and knowledge and some great stories.

I think this is some bias based on the big misses at edge and WR. It's understandable given Barnett and JJAW. OL and DT are good examples where they go for an athletic profile. CB is another. Q and Cooper are good examples of picking great athletes.

It’s my inherent bias. I’ve been posting for 20 years that I want explosive athletes at WR, DT, and edge with instinctive players at off ball LB and safety. CB, TE, OL, RB are multifactorial.

Eagles had the option of taking the bye after the international game, I believe. Since they opted not to, you kinda get what you get.

Nah. You shouldn’t be saddled with "take an early bye or potentially get screwed.”

ESPN probably looking to pair Buck eith Romo or Greg Olsen.

Would be a mistake, they are a great team.

Not saying you should, it's just the chance you take. I'd bet they probably would want a bye right now.

These networks have the finances of NFL football down to a science. So they do this for a reason. But it baffles me why they pay that amount of money to the guys in the booth.

I’d figure (and I must be wrong) that the booth team does not impact who is tuning in and then tuning out. I don’t care who it is. I hardly ever pay attention. Most people complain.

A floating bye would be cool

Tbh when they go to 18 games it’s been discussed having two byes. That seems like it’ll also help even with the extra game

Sounding more like Dickerson to LG and Lampkin to center if Kendall out for an extended period.

I know we have all PTSD from how Dickerson had been playing lately. But if it really was contributed to the injury and LD can come back healthy and start to look like his old self, that could really help bring some balance to this line not just for this year but for the future. It’d be nice to have Mailata, Dickerson, Kendall, Morris/Steen, Bell. That actually would give me some hope we could start turning some things around this year

I’m also hoping they let Stowers play. What do we have to lose? Stick the guy in there and let him take his lumps but get him involved and let’s see what he’s got.
