Oh, so it's OK to make excuses for why Stafford couldn't get it done in Detroit, but we can't do the same for Hurts?

Also, maybe you lack reading comprehension? I never said Stafford was overrated last year, I said he was overrated prior to him joining the Rams. Learn how to read.

Lastly, I never said Hurts was better than Stafford. Stafford is a better passer period. I only brought up the fact that both QB's won with loaded rosters, but they aren't asking Stafford to prove he can win with no help, because that question has already been answered by his 12 seasons in Detroit.

If I have reading comprehension problems, then you have memory problems. Because you came on here last year and told me Matt Stafford was overrated while having an MVP season (rams also gave the Seahawks their toughest games all last year and if not for a crazy 2 point conversion in Seattle have HFA). you also told me Patrick Mahomes was also overrated in past. So if I have reading comprehension problems, you better get your memory check because you said some stuff last year which was absurd.

Secondly, go show me what the eagles organization has been over the last 30 years and go show me what the lions were when Matt Stafford got there and over the last 50 years prior to him getting there. Again, you wanna use it as an excuse. That’s not an excuse when you go into a bad organization and they hold you back because they have bad general management and bad ownership to the point multiple great players retire early and an organization that mastered 0-16. It’s gonna hurt any QB. It plays a role in your career having a dysfunctional mess and taking over a franchise that was 0 AND FING 16. They were absolutely atrocious from like 98-2008. Just like howie being great in his job plays a big role in both sirianni, doug, foles, hurts’ careers. Acting like the lions weren't some dumpster for a decade prior to him getting there and then some bad HC and horrid decisions by ownership/FO when he was there.

Please show me the lions rosters that were remotely as consistently talented or as good as what the eagles had from 2022-2025. Doesn’t exists. I’m not going on a limb but whether it was mahomes, hurts, burrow, allen that with how bad the ownership and general managers making decisions for the lions that all wouldn’t have the careers we’ve seen they have due to that organization, ownership, FO and coaching. point out prior to Stafford getting there the lions had 1 playoff win since 1960 til Stafford got there. Had 9 playoff appearances in 49 years. Meanwhile Stafford got them 3 in his first 8 years in Detroit. That was taking over a disaster of a 0-16 squad. So they were really at the very bottom

Lastly, Matt Stafford is a better quarterback than Jalen hurts. He’s not a bad passer. He is a better overall quarterback. I know it’s tough to hear but that’s the truth.

So you can keep replying to this I’m not replying to you anymore. We already did this song and dance throughout last year. You routinely did this last year were you brought other quarterbacks down to try to build up Jalen hurts. They were absurd hot takes by you then and still that now. Until you decide other QBs can also be good, better than hurts and also have their flaws there’s no convo to be had.

Well, their opinion is pretty good in this case so I will get off their back. Not that .e being on their back causes them any concern one way or the other. I will be patient for the rest of this season and see what happens. (On game day emotions run high so if I slip you'll all have to forgive me).

Hurts should not be running the ball. He's got nothing on the few designed runs they've used b/c he's not a running back anymore, he's had 5 years of NFL beatings.

He can still make plays scrambling against man defense where he has open space and can deke a single defender in the open field for a few more yards.

But running behind a makeshift OL where there are no huge holes to run through? That's stupid.

His problem is primarily an OL that lets rushers run free inside, giving him no time to throw and no lanes to scramble.

When a QB can't trust his OL to pick up a blitz he's going to speed up his mechanics and decisionmaking.

Hurts should run the ball more. I am fine not using him for a tush push but he absolutely can run the ball and likely take less punishment than he would in the pocket.

Didn't know there was a time limit on when you can't discuss a former Eagle anymore. Weird

How many Super Bowls did Joe Mantegna win without Jerry Rice??????

Think they need to focus on Guard as the number one issue on this roster right now and long term. Think the pass protection could be passable and serviceable (with Lumpkin and love him as a reserve), but if they can't ever get a running game going forward to balance things out it won't matter. Need to be better on 1st and 2nd down and we are getting stuffed. This is the root of our problems. Need to solve it. Last game spelled it out. 1 yard per carry. Even with a backup, that's just horrible. There's talk about Nelson, but they are asking for a 1st rounder. So that's not happening. If that price comes down to a 2nd & a lower pick and equal to the compensation you got from Jurgens, then I am jumping on it. Who wouldn't trade Jurgens for Nelson? Howie will figure the contract out later.

This conference doesn't impress me. Hate to see another year fly by where no one is really that good and you keep taking a step down. Bears had an effed O-line and started addressing issue with guys like Thuney in a trade (who was 2 years older) and built from there. This does not have to be a 2-3 year rebuild there. But there needs to be a stabilizing force there if we have any hope of doing anything in the near future. Defense is built to win now with guys in their prime. I don't think Carter and Davis age that well. Baun is getting older. You're either serious or you're not about winning.

I am not trading a 2nd for Nelson, a 30 year old rental. And I am not waiting for a guarantee that Howie will take care of the contract. This is exactly what Jerruh did trading for Porter and people called him a fool. I also think Quinnen Williams was in the same situation and Jerruh had to overpay. Most people want to see the Eagles make the playoffs but not like last years blowout and not like the Phillies getting bombed out in the first series. Just like the Phillies the underlying roster isn't good enough to do anything substantial in the playoffs.

If Hurts doesn't run the ball he's a bottom-quartile QB in the NFL.

One…1981 season. Rice arrived in ‘85.

It is one season unless the player was drafted by the Eagles. If the player is drafted by the Eagles, it is 5 seasons. Unless we are in the offseason pre-draft, in the pre-draft process any player drafted or not drafted by the Eagles can be raised. Post draft prior to June 2nd, only Eagles that played at positions drafted by the Eagles by the current GM. From June 2nd to Training Camp, there are no rules (unless your post is a reference to which Eagle would be the best Civil War General. If that is the subject of your post, you must get pre-approval from @Moderator12 .

He doesn’t look as fleet footed anymore. Maybe that’s just me but he looks noticeably slower.

If his legs are close to being off the table, that’s not good. Cam Newton went from MVP to marginal backup when his legs went

WRONG! Mantegna never had a starring role until the David Mamet film House of Games which wasn't until 1987.

So you're referring to something I said last year in regard to the point I was just making? which has nothing to do with whether he's overrated or not? Wow, lol. Well in short, yeah, I think Stafford overall is overrated, and that's me looking at his entire career. I had been listening to talk of him being ranked with the top 3 QB's of all time due to one SB win and his MVP, and they were ready to crown him top 3 IF he had won it all last year, but he didn't. He's a great player, but I he ain't that great.

Yeah, Mahomes was being overrated because everyone had kept saying he's "the best QB in the league" for 3 straight seasons, but his play and stats clearly said otherwise. There's a difference in having accomplished the most as a QB and actually playing/being the best.

Again, you're just making excuses for Stafford. I could list how Jalen hasn't had stability at the OC position ever, incompetent coaches, how this FO likes to meddle too much, injuries, entitled wide receivers, etc. but that's just excuses. Either way, Stafford had more than just Calvin Johnson, and he had some pretty good teams that should've been able to muster up at least one playoff win, but he couldn't do it. But you go on ahead and keep on bringing up how he was held back, lol.

Of course you won't reply, because you know your argument is weak. And duh, me saying Stafford is a better passer period is me saying he's a better QB. QB's pass the ball... again, your comprehension sucks 😂

How about if he signs him to an immediate extension as part of the deal? I look at it as Jurgens for Nelson. We are too in love with a 2028 draft pick we just got and probably wont help til 2029. Can recoup that in other trades later. I am tired of talking about stashing picks while the product on the field is sucking. Just making a trade like that can energize a whole squad.

Right… roll Again absurd hot takes to bring down other QBs. I get it, it’s your shtick. God forbids you have to actually admit other QBs are good or other teams are better. Regardless of a Qb is playing well like last year with Stafford. He and the rams stunk …

i have reading comprehension problems… no you said "passing the ball”. QB encompasses more than just passing the ball. So no my reading comp is just fine. It’s you who just didn’t want to say BETTER QUARTERBACK. So maybe it’s you and your weak defense there. Lol

He looked fast in the first game. Forget the play but he took off and people here were saying he looked quicker this year.

What is the drop off rate for guards after 30?

He actually looks faster this season than years past. The OL was just awful and we have a ton of injuries. I'm glad he's not running too much.

When you've had every RB get hurt behind an abysmal OL, why on earth would you trot your QB out there to run the ball behind that same line?

Cam really killed his career by changing his diet.
