1 hour ago1 hr I figured why not 🤷♂️AI's prognosis and time tableThree months is a realistic possibility, but six months or longer is also possible. And the encouraging part is that someone can have both deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary emboli (PE) and make a full recovery without needing blood thinners for life. The statement about Jalen Hurts describes something medically serious, though. It's more than just a blood clot in his calf.1. How long would he need blood thinners? For someone diagnosed with DVT and pulmonary emboli, the usual treatment durations are:DurationWhen it's used3 monthsOften sufficient if the clots were caused by a temporary risk factor that has resolved3–6 monthsCommon initial treatment period, depending on the circumstancesLonger than 6 monthsIf the risk of another clot remains significantIndefinitelySometimes necessary for recurrent clots, certain persistent risk factors, or unprovoked clotsThe biggest question isn't necessarily how many clots he has. It's why he developed them in the first place. If doctors identify a temporary cause and believe his future clotting risk is low, three months could be enough. If they cannot identify a clear cause, or testing reveals an ongoing clotting risk, he may need substantially longer treatment. That's consistent with the 2026 American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology guidelines, which identify 3–6 months as the initial treatment period for pulmonary embolism.2. What are the other conditions mentioned?Superficial vein thrombosisA clot in a vein close to the skin. This was the original diagnosis in his calf. It's generally less dangerous than a deep clot, although it can sometimes extend into deeper veins.Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)A clot in a deeper vein, usually in the leg. This is more serious because part of the clot can break loose, travel through the bloodstream and reach the lungs.Bilateral pulmonary emboli (PE)This means clots are blocking blood flow in arteries in both lungs. It's potentially life-threatening because it can interfere with oxygen exchange and put strain on the heart. However, bilateral doesn't automatically mean the most severe category of PE.That's the biggest development in the statement: they've gone from identifying a relatively superficial clot to diagnosing clots in the deep veins and lungs. The fact that he's reportedly clinically stable with no significant limitations is encouraging.3. Will he always have these clots? No, not necessarily. Most people treated appropriately for DVT and PE can recover without permanent major impairment.Blood thinners don't actually dissolve clots directly. They prevent existing clots from getting bigger and help prevent new ones while the body naturally breaks down and absorbs clot material.Over weeks to months, blood flow often improves considerably. Sometimes residual scar tissue remains in a vein or lung artery, but that doesn't necessarily mean there's an active dangerous clot.A minority of people develop longer-term problems, including chronic leg swelling after DVT or persistent breathing problems after PE. That's why doctors continue monitoring recovery even after treatment ends.4. What does this mean for his football career? This is where the situation becomes particularly challenging.Playing tackle football while taking therapeutic blood thinners is generally unsafe. A normal football collision could cause major internal bleeding, especially bleeding in the brain after a head injury. American Heart Association guidance identifies football as a particularly high-risk sport for athletes on anticoagulation. If Hurts needs three months of treatment starting around now, that puts the earliest potential end of treatment around January 2027. It doesn't mean automatic clearance to play that day. His doctors would also need to assess his lung function, heart function, symptoms, and recurrence risk.Interestingly, reporting published today suggests an approximately three-month absence is expected, although that remains an estimate.5. Is this likely to affect him for the rest of his life? The key distinction is between having a clotting episode and having a lifelong tendency to develop clots. If this was triggered by a temporary event, he might finish treatment and never experience another clot.If doctors find that he has an ongoing tendency toward clotting, prolonged or indefinite blood thinners could become necessary. That would create a much more complicated situation for an NFL player. The statement doesn't tell us enough to distinguish those possibilities. My takeaway: Three months is medically plausible, and a complete recovery is absolutely possible. But having DVT plus pulmonary emboli in both lungs is a serious diagnosis, even for a world-class athlete who currently feels fine. The hopeful prognosis in the statement is reasonable; it's just not a guarantee that he'll be ready to play football in exactly three months.Sooo if he's unlucky this might be the end of his careerBut ABC NewsVols' Trey Smith says he had blood clots in lungs; now cl...
1 hour ago1 hr Jalen needs a new agent, none of the top CAA agents would have let him play on zero sleep over f’in seas with blood clots. He needs to fire Klutch.

The team and his agent should have done that, heck his family should have done that.
1 hour ago1 hr Sucks for Hurts. Hope he gets through this without complications. On the football side - we're looking at what? A top 3-6 pick? I wonder if there's a QB they really like if they'll take him. Going to be an interesting time in Philly from now until 2027 even if the team stinks

They mentioned they thought it could help. You’ll have to go back to the original report
1 hour ago1 hr Blog hyper focused on QB 1.The coaching stinks. The O line stinks. The team depth stinks.Top players play like sheet.Defense is mid to bad.Management stinks. The recent drafting stinks.Overpaid 3 guys in one offseason. 🤣🤣🤣And there you have it. I'm looking for the tank commander to make himself known.

1 hour ago1 hr The medical experts on this team (if there are any) should be ashamed. Another example of putting the sport before players safety. Crazy few weeks

Tanner had similar stats with 1 days practice making a 10th of what Jalen makes. So I still stand with same thought process of drafting our new QB and resetting the QB cap expense

1 hour ago1 hr Well, this sucks. Guess we'll hopefully learn more about the young linemen, but the scheme is setting up everyone to fail. Guessing this will give Nick a pass for the season as well. And clearly no extension this offseason for Jalen - maybe they fully guarantee 2027 ($22mm guaranteed now), which really is meaningless since it's almost all a ~$50mm option bonus that must be exercised by week 1 (so he gets it if he's on the 53).

So much happening out his control, especially when some of the issues were created by the FO themselves.
