What about Saquon?

I mean, you're not going to get good value for him right now coming off injury. And it's $26.4mm in dead money in 2027 (vs. $13.0mm cap number), so eats an incremental $13mm. You're not doing that for a day 3 pick, which is all you'll get since (i) he's not healthy and (ii) the acquiring team will cut him after this year and owe only $2.5mm in gteed 2027 money (his contract owes him $16mm in 2027).

Also, I would love to trade some guys like Saquon, Moro, Riq, Nolan. BUT, if those guys are on their final year deals, I would think that other teams would not trade for them this season, and just wait for them to become a FA. Unless said other team was going all in on SB run and needed a player or two to "get over the top”. Huh.

The Offense was a mess BEFORE the injuries. Not sure whom to fire, or where to even begin to fix the mess that it is. 😣😬☹️

Time for a montage where the players and coaches were around the clock to rebuild the scheme...

Under the current NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, active roster players are limited to 11 hours of on‑field practice per week during the regular season

What would you consider good value if he returns next week and looks healthy and explosive?

Every play under center is either a run or play action - so blitzing works either way. It's never a straight drop back to a slant over the middle (that has been vacated by blitzing LBs) or a screen (since we only call WR screens and not RB or TE screens in the middle). I have to think a straight drop back and quick slant to Wicks would be there every time...

Maybe that's why Hurts doesn't prefer under Center in this offense (if it's true that he's stated that). I don't buy that Hurts - a coach's son who is team first - would "refuse" to do things that are successful, move the ball down the field, AND would help him not get hit and have easier throws. People also say he's one-read only, well doing a quick slant with one read would suit that then. The narratives don't make sense. Hurts must hate turning around and having blitzers in his face on half the plays, he has no chance. He also has better numbers from the pocket but people claim he wants to leave the pocket immediately. Hurts is not a top passer and has his weaknesses (like most QBs in the league these days) but the play calling and O line aren't helping. Things need to change, and this new scheme, and Kuper as O line coach, isn't working.

We're going to lose our 1st rounder aren't we sad

I doubt it. Is there a precedence for loss of high picks based on medical history?

a 3rd?

Also I noticed this:

This is an outside zone run, the o-line should be getting to the play side of the defenders lined up on them. Steen has a very difficult block and the defender uses his momentum to swim back under him. The problem is Majors is also cleanly beat on the inside. Lampkin does a good job but the coaches should have Mailata cutting off the blitzer. I am guessing he is told to look for a block to the play side. He should be getting coached to cut off the blitzing defender which may have at least opened a cut back lane. It seems like the defense is well designed to stop this type of run and the bigger question is why run that play against that defensive front?

Didn't they say in the offseason that this new blocking scheme took decision away from the linemen? That they don't have to think or adjust, they just quickly get to their assignment?

I thought any form of going to gun means Sirianni is meddling. Is Shane advocating for Sirianni meddling instead?

My guess is there could be some level of predisposition they didn't know about. Sometimes freak things can be found by chance, similar to that blood vessel cluster in Mike Paterson's brain.

Probably. It’s just hard to imagine a superficial clot in your calf somehow turns to DVT and clots in your lungs in less than a work week.

This is the one time I'm allowing it. And I feel bad for @Joe Ball . He needs a meaningless win.

It ain't happening JoJo, DAL will take a bigger dump in the bed than PHI next week with a relatively healthy roster compared to what you guys are suffering through right now.

I'd think the targets to trade:

Woolen - only $1.26mm base salary and some playing time incentives, so a very attractive contract. Hopefully a 3rd? $8.6mm in 2027 dead cap.

Goedert - $1.3mm base salary, so very tradeable. Causes $18mm in 2027 dead cap. Not sure if he has value.

Ojomo - ~$3.7mm salary, no associated dead cap. Maybe a 3rd?

Steen - not sure he has value, $3.6mm salary and like ~350k dead cap

All guys who likely walk in the offseason anyway.

I’d say Barkley too. But i don’t know if they can based on his contract. Imo i think they might be keeping him out longer to try and prevent another injury and wear and tear.

I also wouldn’t be entirely shocked with baun as he has 1 year left after this year but i also don’t think they can due to contract.

McVay? He is not surviving his dream team, let alone 5th string RB, 2nd string QB, 4th string O line.

I'm trying to give people some benefit of the doubt, and wondering why only Nick is expected to still have quality performance here when even the most important tree origin of his OC is having trouble in a much better scenario after being their coach for god knows how many years.

Hate to break this to you, but teams that don't play starters in preseason combined with only having a couple games before said injuries in a new scheme means this isn't really an argument because it's saying "People must be fired because they weren't good right out of the gate when everyone was learning something new!"

Like no crap.

Jalen Hurts on the Royal Balcony.png

They won't trade Barkley. They will try to rebuild on the fly and they still need players to attract good head coaches. I think Ojomo, Woolen, possibly Goedert could be gone. Maybe someone like Dickerson if anyone wants him. Maybe Nolan Smith if a team offers a premium.

But I think it will be mainly Ojomo and Woolen because neither will be back next season. I think Ojomo has more value than Kempski predicted in his column, we'll see. He had it as a 3rd and 5th. I think Ojomo will net at least a second. He's a very good DT in his mid 20's with a 6 sack season under his belt. The only downside is the contract, but he can be tagged and then signed so I don't think that will be the deterrent others do.

To early for any of this nonsense. We have no idea if he consulted his agent and she advised him to play. There is to many unknowns still.

You don't fire people for bad takes, that's cancel culture.

I think that depends on whether or not you literally get paid to make takes, and how egregious they are.
