Jenkins would be nice but I think if they stay at 37 it's to get a player like Basham.  There's also going to be a lot of good IOL available at 70.

Yeah Basham makes a lot of sense! I like that pick but then there's a lot of ways they could go and I'd like.

I am not devaluing the corner position but I just feel with how the game is today, WR is now more important.

Mid 4th rounder is 49 points where the point value diff is 50

So key is if the Jags feel Ertz is worth that 4th value unless we add in a later round pick as well

Yeah I wouldn't do that either. I'd use a late round pick to move up a couple of spots. Or Id use some later round picks to acquire another fourth or something.

That would equal out to Ertz being 50 points or a 5th rounder.  33 is 580   37 is 530.

I really like basham. He is a high energy high motor pass rusher. DE is a long term need with Graham getting older and Barnett (sweat also doesn’t have a contract for 2022) not being here after this year as he is FA at the end of the year. He feels like a player the eagles would be really high on.

I think there are only three more CBs that can reasonably start next year on the outside (so no slots like Molden):  Asante, Campbell and Melifonwu, though he is pretty so something of a stretch to play immediately.  Hopefully none of them go before 37 so we have a little flexibility on the clock.

If Terrace Marshall Jr is at 37 I wouldnt be mad if he is the pick. There are a few decent free agent corners still available if we pick BPA from another position.

As I said, corner was always a more important position but the game has changed.  Look at how many receivers can put up 1000 yards these days vs how many corner are considered "elite".

The change in the game has devalued shut down CBs, b/c with more spread and multiple targets on offense, what determines the strength of a defense is less its best players in the back seven but its worst in coverage. Play a two down MLB and teams will throw short passes to TEs and RBs and crossing routes to WRs. Have a subpar CB and OCs will scheme to get one of their best WRs isolated on him. Have a safety who cheats against the run and OCs will use play action to freeze him and throw deep down the middle.

Point is while you do want at least one top starter at CB, it's more important to go four deep at corner and have two solid safeties, and LBs who can cover so you're not providing an obvious mismatch on most plays.

DE was overvalued, and DT was undervalued.  Barmore is disruptive and will be a very good pick for whoever gets him; a couple of those DE being first round picks was a real head-scratcher.

I really want them to wait till next year to address the DE position. Next year there are 3 bonafide, blue-chip, can't miss, mega studs coming out. I want one or more of them.

I think there is merit to doing it both this year and next year.  Right now we have 3 DEs on the roster in Graham, Barnett, and Sweat none of which are signed long term.  I think next year is when we find a long term starter but regardless we need another depth rusher for not just this year but going forward so I'd like to add one this year if the value is there.  Even if you do re-sign Sweat and Barnett, you'll still need at least two DEs going forward so no harm adding one this year to be the 3rd or 4th guy.

That's ideal for me.  No more than 10 picks though.  There's a few groups that should go on runs.  Don't overthink it and drop to the end of round 2 though.
