I disagree.  He crippled the 2022 cap cleaning up his mess, and he put a couple band aids on the roster with 1 year deals.  Need to come out of the previous draft and this draft with at least 5 future starters.

the trade gives the giants the ability to make a move for a QB after next year if Daniel jones sucks. Really doesn’t have anymore excuses since they have weapons. If he stinks i am betting they use their first and that bears pick to acquire another QB. The Toney pick i don’t really get since they have good WRs and it’s actually deep slot receiver class. I like Toney i just don’t get it for the giants nor at 20.

Just spitballing here, but could it also be possible that Howie thought "hey, I already made one great move to pick up a 1st next year, and while yeah, I could keep trading down and stash more, at some point I've gotta get real impact for this team.  let's not get cute and actually leave the first round with a guy we really like..."

Toney is basically a Paris Campbell/Curtis Samuel type. 
 

He’s not as explosive as an athlete as them, but he also strings together some pretty slick footwork and moves better than they did.  The question for all of them is if that skill set can translate into a WR who gets open all over the field or if they are just gadgets at the LOS.

I forget what analyst was on Sirius the other day when they were talking about him. I want to say it was pat kirwin who said he’s either going to be Percy harvin or you are going to get Tavon Austin.  As an eagles fan hoping it’s Austin

If the upside is Percy Harvin...he was good, but I want more than that.

Smith’s upside is Harrison/Holt...I don’t know if he gets there, but they are my prototypical wideouts, maybe even more so than Moss and Megatron.

I haven’t besides that person. However if he slides in round 2 i think it will kind indicate that’s probably an accurate report. 

I think it's an absolute lock that if Assante Samuel, Jr is there at #37 that he will be our guy.

I prefer freaks at WR and Smith is no freak...but what I do love is repeatable separation.

I hate 50/50 balls and this contested catch power forward.  Real offensive success comes from relentless separation at all 3 levels of the field.  The reliable 20 yard dagger on 3rd and long because he’s just always open.   
 

That is what Smith does.  That’s what Harrison and Tory Holt were.

Frankly it’s why a lot of mocks had Toney going late 1st/early second. I think Bateman is a better player. Not so much for the giants. I don’t think he was a good fit. I actually think smith was the best fit WR for the giants. You could have slayton and galladay on the outside and smith just destroy you in the slot as a matchup problem all day.

I picked Waddle for the Giants in the Mock Draft, but would have DEFINITELY gone Kwity Paye over Toney in this situation.

Parsons is a waste of head space. 

They did better on the commercials this year but dragged it out even when the pick was in

I was concerned with Smith's size (as were most) during the past few months but after re-watching some highlights of his, especially this video...I'm no longer "too" concerned.  The guy gets separation on almost every-single-play.  In the following highlight video, his average separation by the time the ball gets to him is between 3-5 yards...absolutely phenomenal. 

And if you want to see something special, take a look at the TD catch at around the 2:30 mark....

Exactly.  He did not run a 40, and was projected in the 4.45 range.  Nico Collins ran a better 40 than that.

You must have missed my other post saying my view on the possible trade, lol.. That post was just a reply to someone asking what the trade value was on the trade chart.
