I want a bigger WR, but I like St Brown. No issues with drafting him. Good slot who can play outside too.

Plays a lot of Sp Teams as well. I think that will be key in day 3. Have to get players that can do multiple things on the field including sp teams. Also why I like Nasirdeen the Safety/Nickel/LB from LSU

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

In general, yes.

There are exceptions

  1. QBs
  2. Players at the end of a tier (ex: Smith in RD1, before there's a drop in talent)
  3. Team has excess picks in later round and can't possibly keep all of them

So getting their guy is a good thing too then?

I can pretty much assure you that there are passionate debates between scouts and player personnel people in just about every War Room and in every NFL draft.   I really don't understand why some seem to think it's an issue.  I've been in business/marketing/sales for the majority of my career.  Most people who have worked for large companies, in those types of positions, would tell you that things tend to get "heated" from time to time.

Don't mistake the team aspect of being and NFL franchise for the business side of it.  Business is business and I doubt it's much different in the Eagles front office.  The important part is that they leave the "business side" of it outside, on the curve to prevent it from affecting the team/locker room.  Most players are well aware that this type of stuff goes on because most will tell you that when it comes to contracts, trades, etc...."It's a business".

Again, when it's always the same person at the center of these situations, maybe the reports we've been hearing over the years were more than just hearsay.

Today should be about the best players and guys with the best traits or measurables that have a chance to develop.  Regardless of position.

This is even more important in such a thin draft.

I know the Eagles didn’t address all needs, but that was never going to be possible in one draft.  The team has been decimated.

Id love to see defensive backs and LBs, and don’t want to see more day 3 WRs, but ultimately they need to take whoever the top of the board is and not even look at position.  That’s the only way bad teams should do it.  Maximize your chances at finding someone who can end up playing for you.  Don’t take guys at positions you need with rose colored projections.  Don’t take try hard productive college players that obviously don’t have the talent to play in the NFL.

Can you see them bringing in a WR though? I mean they could and these later round picks are project guys mostly so I guess anything can happen.

Just draft good players. Who cares about roster composition on Day 3, especially in a draft that has few good players left.

Yeah that's kind of what I'm saying here bud. WR won't be a priority but if they are sticking to their board and they have a WR graded high then take him.

7th round option: CB Avery Williams.

Strictly a small nickel CB prospect, but very quick in a short area.  Might be an instant upgrade as a returner.

The big question now with Slay taking #2.  Does Jordan Howard go back to 24 or is he going to keep 34...riveting stuff.

Have to assume they move half of their 6th/7th round picks in a draft with little talent left

It is funny to see all the reporters having a stroke about not taking a CB. If it wasn’t clear before, it is now - we aren’t trying to win in 2021. 2021 is about one thing and one thing only - determining if Jalen Hurts is the long term QB. Other than that, we are simply taking the best value on the board. Dickerson’s medical history concerns me, but I love the Williams pick. Both guys hopefully step in as starters in 2022.

3 first round picks in 2022 to either get a QB or fill out a team around Hurts. The secondary is going to have to wait until next offseason.

There's a reason why using consensus boards. The crowd is often better than individuals.

Who is going to want those picks?

On paper Giants draft looks good

Robert Rochell is the best CB left in the draft and the drop-off after Rochell seems to be substantial, imo.  Rochell would have likely been a 2nd/3rd round pick had he played for a bigger program, imo.

Rochell (pronounced row-SHELL) was a fantastic athlete in high school, earning All-District honors in football for Fair Park High School in Shreveport and finishing third in the 100-meter dash at the Louisiana state track meet. He started three times in 11 appearances for the Bears as a redshirt freshman (eight tackles, one interception, six pass breakups). In 2018, he started eight of 11 contests played (25 tackles, three for loss, four interceptions, six pass breakups). Rochell had a breakout junior campaign, when he tied for 10th in the FCS with five interceptions and garnered first-team All-Southland Conference honors with 44 tackles, 2.5 for loss, and a team-high 13 pass breakups. UCA played a nine-game schedule in 2020 and Rochell started seven of those contests (27 tackles, three pass breakups), missing two due to injury. He accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl. -- by Chad Reuter

Rochell is very athletic and is a ball hawk. His 40 time was clocked at 4.39 during his pro-day.   The fact that he has played both WR and CB makes him very versatile and his experience at WR likely makes him better at tracking balls, disrupting passes, etc.  He could be used as a safety in certain packages but should become a starting outside CB at the NFL level.  Decent size and good tackler.  Technique could use some work but that shouldn't be much of an issue with some solid NFL coaching.

He will likely be among the next 2 CB's taken.  (Probably the next taken).

The Jaguars could be looking for a CB (among others) so he probably won't last until pick 123.  (Not even close, imo)

BUT the Jaguars could also use a TE.   Zach Ertz would be an ideal "go-to" guy for Lawrence during Lawrence's first few years in the league.  A top pass-catching, veteran TE is ideal for a rookie QB learning the NFL game.  Ertz would likely aid in Lawrence's development...much more so than any TE available in the draft now or any other TE in the free agent market, imo.

Ertz and our 4th round (123) for Jacksonville's 4th (106) and try to get a 6th back from Jacksonville.  Ertz could spend his later years in Florida, in a stress/drama free town.  (Jacksonville is nothing compared to Philadelphia when it comes to the fanbase/media.) And with any luck, might help them become a contender in a few years with Lawrence.

And we get our future starting outside CB.

I like Shaun Wade as well, if he came out in 2020 he would of gone late 1st early 2nd round.  At a minimum, he’ll cover the slot with no problem, which is still better than what the Eagles currently have.

My guy for corner still is Israel Mukuamu. I want a tall dude to give us someone to match.

Maybe a team that doesn't have one, idk honestly. Even if we keep them all I doubt any of them make the team anyway

That's two total busts in JJaw and Jones. One that may or may not be good in Dillard. And a franchise QB in Hurts.

Let's hope Dickerson works out..

Gotta love it when your draft pick gets it

24........definitely 24.........

Day 3 is the day the scouts earn their money.  Continue to trust the board.  FA options at corner if it doesn't work out.  There is value early at DE/RB-and LB/S I like later.  3rd QB & P should be a consideration in the 7th.

Hurts is a franchise QB?

So...really like the Smith and Williams picks.  We definitely needed to get a quality DT in this draft.

Still meh on the Dickerson pick.  I understand the upside vs injury risk.  Just think we could have made a boring, value pick there to help the back seven on defense instead

Completely agree

Like him, but since it round 4, it’s gotta be David Moore. He’s a center 6ft tall 330lbs can do a backflip and dunk. He won MVP on the O line at the Senior Bowl.  Seriously,  this dude is nuts and would fit perfectly on the Eagles O line.
Mukuamu screws up Moore in four, but you’re right he’s definitely BPA, unless Cox is there.
