Eagles remaining picks:  here's what I am looking for

4th Round: Gotta protect the QB and a huge guy from tiny school of Saginaw Valley State - Todd Herremanns
5th Round: This is a tough one, two Bearcat greats to choose from, I'm going with Brent Celek over Trent Cole, but its close
6th Round: Going back to the Bearcats, give me Jason Kelce
6th Round: Resurrect the FB position, we need Cecil Martin
6th Round: Let's add to our DT rotation a bit more with that enigma, #91 Andy Harmon
6th Round: This wasn't an easy decision, but we need help at RB, bring on the Sherman Tank - Heath Sherman
7th Round: We need to solidify the bookends of the OL even more and get younger and more athletic, double dip with Jordan Mailata
7th Round: The CB position is weak, and we need a band-aid.  Jalen Mills was good enough to get us through a SB season, get him again.

I think that would be a pretty good use of the 8 picks we have tomorrow.

Here’s my Bearcat pick in the draft this year: James Smith, punter.  His placement is unreal   Like two touchbacks in 84 punts kicking inside the twenty and one of those was kicking away from Marquez Stevenson.  Saw an interview where he said he can get within a yard of where he wants to place the ball.  His high school in Australia was ProKick   Cannot fault that.  His fake and run against Georgia was pretty solid. He’s 6’ 5” and 225.  Everyone talks about Harvin’s leg but Smith is close and I like his touch better

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Who did they sign at DB other than the safety from the Vikings?

The guy from TB.

So we have what 3 CBs currently on the roster then?

If they could get their new QB with only one first round pick, rather than bundling them all in a huge package, that would be a major plus.  That would enable them to invest first round picks in DL and CB next year (or to backtrack and get an OT if Mailata/Dillard flop).

This is my hope as well. Dont need to fall in love with the top overall guy, if they see a franchise guy they can pick without trading up we will be in good shape

Every pick they made this year has upside.  May not have been my picks, but I’m down with that.

Barnett was a high pick who was never going to dominate in this league.  Hurts was never going to be a high end passer.  JJAW was never going to get open.  Rasul Douglas was always going to struggle with getting burnt deep.  These things were known from day 1.

Never isn’t a word that has to apply to limitations on these 3 picks.

I will say that despite the video with Donohue being unhappy there seems to be more consensus about the picks.  The past 2 seasons there were almost immediate rumblings about other players coaches wanted. I think this is Howie going along with Weidl’s board.

If we can move up in the 4th for talent I would do it. Couple of good linebackers and safeties left (Jabril cox, Jamar Johnson, Dylan Moses, Caden Sterns).

Jamar is the one I want but will definitely have to trade up to get him.

Rather have an accurate short game than crush it with the driver. Sounds like my kind of guy.

If you want upside outside the 1st round, you have to take risks, the deeper into the draft, the bigger the risk.

If you're a playoff team, you can rationally prefer guys on the 1st and 2nd day who can plug holes, you want a higher floor b/c you already have impact players (or you wouldn't be a top team) so you're more interested in addressing weaknesses than building strengths.

If you're rebuilding, you're not looking for depth, you're looking for players who can be starters down the road and be part of the core of a playoff team in 2-3 years.

Probably posted already, but this guy looks built.

Will Milton really be able to play DE with his short arms and small hands?

Short arms, not impressed🤨

We have 8 picks today.  I would be happy if we packaged all of those 6/7s to move up into rounds 4/5 or simply punt on them for picks in the same round next year. This draft is picked over.

His most impressive numbers are his VT 38" and BJ 10'4. At 284 lbs, that's off the charts, great leg explosion.

Don't really care about his 40 time, I mean how often does a defensive linemen run 20 yards, much less 40?

Short arms are a negative, but he's supposed to be good with his hands, long arms don't have much value if you can't punch.

I think they’ll be doing a lot more stunts, twists, games, etc. but we will see...

It really is, not a lot of inspiring guys left.

Some back end player who was cut from the Colts and Giants. That's it. We prioritize a center for 2022 with major injuries and third DT instead so who cares about starting the back 7.

I think on the third day you're looking for fliers, like in a normal draft at the end and when bidding for priority UDFAs (usually sign 4 or 5 of these guys each year who are pretty similar in talent to the last two rounds). This year those priority UDFAs will be drafted in the 6th and 7th rds, the guys left over are going to be thin pickings. So I have no problem garnering more picks to take chances on guys coming off injuries, or who opted out, or small college athletes - so what if you cut half of them. Otherwise you're trading up for a lot of guys who are 3rd tier prospects who in many cases have backup ceilings. Those are the guys good teams want to fill out their rosters and build depth. We don't want depth, we want winning lottery tickets.

Howie probably sends him a check to put this out after the picks are taken.

In isolation, trading down in the 3rd for a 6th rounder is strange in a draft where the bottom will fall out of it earlier than normal.

The problem with the Eagles draft is the change in style, while good, is such a stark change to what they have been doing. The bits of the team where there is little talent still aren't any better than they were a week ago

Let's see if Ertz is traded today.

That was before the draft.

He put that article out a week ago.

The remaining draft strength appears strongest at positions we already picked— DT and WR. I would be fine double dipping. Draft a WR with size.
