Dylan Moses is still on the board if you want a LB

I like Jabril as well but doubt they go there. Moses is a strong leader and voice in the locker room which is a plus. Someone I like but not sure they do it is FSU Safety Nasirdeen at 6'4 216 range who is a high quality leader, good coverage skills agasint TEs and in the nickel that can play in the box as well as LB. He also excels in Sp Teams.

I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

CB is a certain build. Have to look at long bigger body CBs in that 6 foot plus range that matches what the Colts were brought in. Gannon did a very good job with the no name CBs he had a to work with. There are a decent amount that fit that build for today with nice ranking on the board.

Quick look at the roster situation, trying to see where 8 late picks could make the team. Normal font is clearly expected to make roster, bold is expected to make it but not guaranteed, italic has one foot out the door.

Any draft picks that spill beyond those parameters are pretty much a lock for the practice squad.

If you're gambling on upside, you're gonna have some misses, which is fine.

The key is finding starters or top reserves, not a bunch of marginal guys who make the roster only to be cut in two years.

So... will we see Ertz moved today?

Unless its a early to mid 4th, I don't see it happening. I think they keep him hoping someone has a TE get hurt or sees a need between camp to the trade deadline and pays a little more. His cap number is better on us if taking the hit after June 1st as well if Im correct.

Ertz and our 4th round (123) for Jacksonville's 4th (106) and try to get a 6th back from Jacksonville.

If we can't get another 6 from Jacksonville, that would be a real deal breaker for me.

Misses at this point in the draft are fine, especially if they came in with a shot at some upside.

Misses that never make the roster were a waste.

I hope either Jabril Cox, Brevin Jordan, Michael Carter and Rochell are there at the Eagles pick.  My hope is they get Rochell or Cox.

I personally dont like the new rule. Gives the NFL a college feel which will just be strange. This will take many years to get use to. Kinda of like the Redskins will always be the Redskins to me.

Lol. Howie and Dave’s rivalry is unmatched.

So Howie completely screwed the pooch on day 2? Injury proned interior linemen and an undersized DT? Fing dolt.

In terms of value, moving up from 123 to 106 is worth a 5th round pick.  So if we get a 6th round pick back from Jacksonville, it would be the equivalent of trading Ertz for a 5th and 6th round pick.

Or another way to look at it is that we would trade Ertz for our future staring outside CB and a 6th round pick.

Just heard something interesting from Bill Polish on NFL network just now.  He said that they continuously studied what methods and evaluations were most accurate in terms of predicting success.

He said that without fail, the board the scouts put together in late January, before the combine and pro days, was by far the most accurate predictor of NFL success.  Because the scouts know what they are doing.

He then discussed Mike Mamula as the cautionary tale of pre draft testing.

Our Defensive Backs room:

Tier 1-

Darius Slay- the best in the room

Tier 2-

Anthony Harris- not quite Tier 1

Tier 3-

Rodney McLeod- not the same player since the injury

The rest-

Avonte Maddox- still here because he was a 4th rd pick

Marcus Epps- he did have as many INTs as Slay last year

K'Von Wallace- couldn't find playing time despite injuries to everyone ahead of him on the depth chart

Andrew Adams- our exciting free agent signing

Craig James- had that one play that one time

Michael Jacquet- reincarnation of Izell Jenkins

Grayland Arnold- Howie really likes him

Kevon Seymour- ummm

Jameson Houston- cool name

Elijah Riley- the guy from Army

Lavert Hill- seriously

Shakial Taylor- your guess is as good as mine

Observations -

1) If I'm a UDFA defensive back, I'm calling the Eagles

2) This is the reason that JJAW looks great in camp

This back 7 is disgraceful and whomever is in charge of roster building should be flat out embarrassed and the owner should have made a change. It's that bad. And it was ignored on days 1 & 2 of the draft.

Lol. What in the hell kind of process is that?

There's a reason it's called a "War Room".  There's probably dozens (if not more) of passionate debates during every draft.  This one happened to get caught on camera.  That's all, imo.  No reason to make it out to be something bigger than what it is, imo.

For an isolated incident in a vacuum? Sure.

If it becomes an annual occurrence? Might be something more to it.
