I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I'm not sure if Eagles fully paid Peters when he tore Achilles NFI. They might have but I'm not so sure

I hope Justin Jefferson retires, The Jeffersons gets taken off TV forever, and Thomas Jefferson gets taken off the nickel. Never wanna hear that name again.

No offense i think waddle is a better prospect than ruggs. And not by a small margin either. I was not as high on ruggs as everyone on this blog. I thought he was good not worthy of moving heaven and earth to go up and snatch where people wanted to get too. A ton of people on the blog and emb made ruggs out to be like he was going to be a all pro from day one leading up to that draft.

also people bashed lamb cause he played at Oklahoma or was slow. He was on pace before Dak got hurt to break the rookie receiving record.

I was not big on Ruggs last year, just as I was not big on Waddle this year. Both roughly same player in speed, size etc. Neither can run routes and have avg hands. I think both should have been mid/late first round picks. Not sure who would bash Lamb, I loved him and was my top player I would have liked to have. Jeudy was my 2nd choice then Jefferson. To me Smith is a simular player to Jefferson with his wide route tree, great adjustment to the ball and top rec hands.

They cut some of his money

Sadly one of those is more realistic than the rest!

I think it was gutless for the PA to use Covid as an excuse to get the players not to attend camps to try and hurt the NFL. NFL should scare the players. This is the reality of the situation and can happen to any of them. They need to be aware.

i think waddle is a better route runner at this stage then ruggs was. I think smith and waddle were more polished receivers than ruggs last year. Sadly i think waddle is going to be hindered by Tua and the fact he’s going to have fuller, Parker, gesicki all ahead of him in terms of pass catchers. Frankly the dolphins if tua is just average should be a good team with their defense and talent on offense. That said i really don’t like tua so i could see him just never being as good as the hype around him prior to his hip injury.

Lamb was my favorite wr in that class. If there was a WR i was willing to trade up for it was lamb. By that i mean a couple slots not a massive move up like people were ok with in ruggs. I liked ruggs wasn’t in love with him and i didn’t see him as some generational talent. I liked jeudy more than ruggs. I actually think he got the short end of the stick cause lock was hurt last year and then looked bad once he came back. Add on they lost Sutton and fant was injured off and on so he basically was forced to be the guy in the passing game way earlier then he should’ve been.

Not sure what makes NFL players special.  If you have an injury outside of work and cant do your job, you are screwed.

I am typically pro player in contract situations. I think they should get whatever they can get. But this don't go to voluntary workouts stuff is BS.  They are hurting the UDFA & fringe roster guys or even young guys who want to emerge as starters.  I have no problem with vets not going but don't bully young players and use the union to do it.

The Eagles got out of Jernigan's contract because he did something non-sports related. It's still not clear what he did, but apparently it was bad.

So they have Xavien Howard and Byron Jones as starters, used a first rounder last year on Noah Igbinoghene now signing McCourty.

aaaand, he just had a nice looking draft, made a couple cheap, smart signings and might be having us back on the upswing. We will have cap room and tons more draft picks next year. We will see where he takes us from here. History has shown he can rebuild very, very quickly.

correct. that was one of the most ridiculous things thats been said in here in a while.

He had a draft.   Whether or not it is a nice looking draft is purely a matter of opinion.

And as I said... rebuilding is WAY easier than maintaining.

  • The N.F.L. signed new media rights agreements with CBS, NBC, Fox, ESPN and Amazon collectively worth about $110 billion over 11 years, nearly doubling the value of its previous contracts. The contracts, which will take effect in 2023 and run through the 2033 season, will cement the N.F.L.’s status as the country’s most lucrative sports league.

Howie is average at drafting, at the top of draft day dealing, good at free agent acquisition (DeSean was his only bad move in almost a decade, Malik and Wallace were just bad injury luck, when durable players get hurt it is what it is, Hargrave is a top pass rushing DT, Bradham, Jenkins, Brooks, McLeod, et al) - Chip was bad at free agent acquisitions.

Howie's one bad stretch was when he tried too hard to keep the window open when he should have let a couple players walk instead of extensions and let the chips fall where they may.

Even with all the disruptions of the last decade, they won 10 games three times from 2011-2020, 9 games twice, made the playoffs 4 times and won a SB. And that was dealing with AR's last couple years and Chip.

Since he took over in 2016, 42-37-1 with 3 PO appearances and a SB.

Keep saying that like it's true and maybe someday someone else will believe it to be true.

And if you can't play football anymore, you aren't special.

Late season Mailata vs. Cowboys.  Not his best game at all.  He has work to do but man watch some of these plays.  You don't see the kind of power he has from anyone else on the line.  Thomas does a really good job of not just showcasing his good plays but also showing where he needs work.  (Take notes Baldy).

:26.  Leading the way for  TD he simply throws Jaylon Smith 3-5 yards in to the endzone.  Smith had no chance.

1:30.  He doesn't set his feet but he regathers himself while bench pressing Aldon Smith with 1 arm.   Ridiculous strength.

3:00.  Another 5 yard toss of Jaylon Smith.

Side note, watch Seumalo....yikes.  Give me Landon Dickerson at LG please.

Seumalo is overrated in here. He's not a bad player, but he also doesn't seem to be the player some people make him out to be. Many think he can just easily slide to center if need be. I'm not convinced.

Seumalo is okay, but I'd say he's probably our worst starting lineman.

I said that yesterday.  He seems so lackadaisical in his game.

Not by me, I think he's ok, if surrounded by much more talented players. I'd really prefer him as the 6th man off the bench. Let Jordan & Landon have LT & LG

If Landon is plugged in at LG for this year, I can see that becoming his permanent spot. Similar to how for the longest time the Eagles talked about moving Lane to LT when Peters retired, but eventually decided to find someone else for that position.

nope, he's our replacement for Kelce when he retires

If Mailata is not robbed of his starting job because of Dillard's draft status then he will develop into an All Pro.

1st question that needs to be asked: what position is actually best for Mailata to maximize his fit?  He showed some real vulnerability to speed rushers around the edge last year.  While his strength and athleticism-for-size are both unquestionable, his pure quickness is not.  I’m not saying he’s not a fit at LT, but I am saying there is the possibility that he’s a better fit at RT given his frame and struggles with speed.

2nd: If Mailata is a better RT fit, what is so wrong about giving the smaller, quicker, more finesse blocker in Dillard a shot at LT?

3rd: Does anyone actually expect Lane Johnson to play more than 10 games next year?
