I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

Not sure why some of these teams got so many

Amount of primetime games by team:

5: GB, NO, DAL, SEA, PIT, BAL, LAR, SF, KC, TB

4: CHI, MIN, LV, IND, BUF

3: NYG, NE, LAC, TEN, CLE, ARI, WFT

2: PHI, MIA

1: NYJ, DET, JAX, CIN, HOU, CAR, DEN, ATL

I the only team that ewallt strikes me as odd are the Bears.  Should definitely be more Browns games than Bears games.

You said you feel like Howie and Jeff wanted to keep Wentz. But you lead at least me to believe that the "reports" said the locker room didn't like "ginger". That said. What would your opinion be based on? Your hatred of "ginger"?

I dont hate Ginger.  Where you get that from?

I just think he's a crybaby and mentally weak.  Doesnt mean I hate him.

Lost my sister 3 years ago and my nephew her son 7 months later.  She was 54, he was 33. It’s awful, and of course we all ( my other sis, parents,, and me) blame ourselves for not doing enough.
I hate to say this but in terms of the crisis one of the best things to happen although it was years ago was Rush Limbaugh getting caught Dr shopping and using. I don’t wish addiction on anyone, but finally that side of the political aisle stopped lambasting addicts and believing they should all be in jail, or that it’s just a choice.  Hypocrisy or not, whatever, it definitely changed the outlook on getting these folks help, instead of jail time and ridicule.

That narrative doesn’t hold water.  From Wentz's perspective he carried Doug for two seasons after Frank and John left; it was apparent almost immediately that Doug was in way over his head.  As Cowherd said last year "Carson Wentz carried the Eagles to the playoffs surrounded by lawn chairs and deck furniture”.

Wentz said pretty clearly, it was when he was benched vs Green Bay he made his decision to move on.  Again, from his perspective, when you’re holding the offense together for so long you get to a point where you can’t do it anymore, and the team sends you to the bench while guys like Jeffery keep their jobs?  Smart career business decision, and I don’t blame him one bit.  Remember — it was this exact game Aaron Rodgers gave him advice afterward.  Wanna guess what Rodgers told him, in light of current circumstances with the Packers?  Is Rodgers any less of a "crybaby and mentally weak” that you think Wentz is?

Nothing at all to do with temperament nor inner strength.

So no Sunday night football this year at all for us.  That means no Collinsworth to deal with so that's a win.

I lost my best man and had the same feelings of guilt. It’s tough to deal with but stay strong my brother.

There's going to be a lot of hand-wringing about screwing up the draft pick as they win some of those 2nd half games after starting the season about 1-7.

I agree Doug was in over his head.  But Wentz didnt carry them for 2 years after Frank and John left.  His best stretch in those 2 years was the final 4 of 2019.  Again, some will point out it was against terrible teams those 4 games but I wont use that.  You play who you play.

So he basically carried an awful team the final 4 games of 2019 to the playoffs according to Cowherd, who's an idiot btw.  Then the following year he looks like he doesnt even belong in the CFL.   So what gives?  There's no reason he should have been that bad last year.

From what I understand, Rodgers is attempting to work things out with GB.  Not exactly what Wentz did.  Cant really compare their situations.

I hope that 5-10 years from now we hear from players, coaches and team officials what Wentz was like and what really happened with him, Doug, Howie, eveyone.

Rodgers just wants more money; he’s being a diva and when GB gives him a new contract he’ll be placated.

Did you see how Mahomes did in the Super Bowl?  Nine points behind 3/5 of his OL.  Wentz had 1/5 of his OL for half the season, and backups to the backups playing.  Goedert missed time, Ertz missed time, Reagor missed time, Alshon and Desean were stealing big salary and not playing.  Sanders is not exactly Iron Man.

Can’t believe you need to ask what gives.  No QB in the NFL could have had a decent season under those circumstances — none.

Somewhat off topic, but I think Urban Meyer bringing in Tim Tebow is an early sign that he just doesn't get it as a pro coach.

Unlike some, I don't have anything against Tebow.  And I get it, there is zero investment and they can cut him in camp.  But the big risk with these college coaches is that they try to do things the same way they did in college and refuse to adapt to proven blueprints in the NFL.

Signing his 33 year old several years out of the league former star player isn't exactly proving to everyone that he realizes he's not at Ohio State anymore.

I agree with the take that it allows him to sign Tebow as a camp body and take media attention away from his new QB.

Their offense may not be great, but I wouldn't call Washington soft with that defense. The kid will have had quite a few starts under his belt for the Jets too. Does look favorable right now, but I'm sure teams are saying that about the Eagles too. We'll see.

Jax has needed a good TE for several years now.  They could probably get Ertz for a 3rd, yet they would rather have a Tebow circus. It kind of explains why the Jags are consistently bad.

I agree Wentz didnt have the best surrounding cast but he just carried "lawn chairs and deck furniture" just the previous year.

My opinion, the SB was just bad timing for Mahomes and the Chiefs.  It was 1 game compared to the whole season for Carson who played terrible.  If he's as good as people think then he should have played better last year even under those circumstances.  He shouldn't have played like a bottom of the league QB.  At least be around an average QB, rank around 15-20.

I cant wait to see what he looks like with the Colts.  I dont think he'll be 2017 Wentz but he should be better.  Cant get much worse than last year.

I suppose that's one possibility, but they are in Jacksonville.

Lawrence goes from the brightest possible spotlight to complete obscurity until he earns something in the pros.

We all are, same to you and we should try to remember that as adults, if someone wants something bad enough, they’ll get it and there is little we can do about it.

I had a job a few years ago where I managed a facility in a small town; most of the guys working on the shop floor were early 20s and there was apparently a lot of drug use in town.  We had one guy who came to work while on a DMT trip that lasted 2-3 days.  We sent him home because he was totally F’ed up and couldn’t do the simplest tasks.  Never seen anybody in my life who was that spaced out.  He went on short-term disability and didn’t return to work for 6 months.  When he came back he was a completely different person — so heavily medicated he was like a zombie; I felt bad for the kid.

I asked one of our lead hands, another young guy, what the drug of choice was in town — he said meth.  I asked him if it was as addictive as I heard, and he told me "I dont know anyone who’s ever gotten off of it”

It’s a tough gig being a young kid nowadays.

Kind of a weird schedule.  We only play 1 division opponent in the first 11 weeks then we finish with 4 division games (though 3 of 4 at home and coming off the bye).  Away schedule isn't too bad. Only 2 times do we have back-to-back away games and the 2nd time is trips up the Turnpike to Swamp Stadium.  Then we get the bye and the only time we host games back-to-back.  Up until the bye it's like we have the supposed best teams at home and the teams we could have a chance to beat are road games.  If we don't beat ATL Week 1 it could be a while before we finally pick up a W.
