I turned 38 today and have lost 52lbs since February. I’m very rarely ever proud of myself, but I’m feeling pretty proud today and thought I’d share. Carry on.

  • At this point, I’d like to see a former HC on the staff, but the biggest coaching news left is whether Stout stays.  BOOOOOOOOM

I simply asked you a question. So he's a "crybaby and mentally weak" according to you and do you feel the same way about Rodgers? And where does your "opinion" that he lost the locker room come from?

As far as I've heard Rodgers is trying to fix things with GB, not run away.  He is a little bit of a baby.  Mentally weak, no.  His play wasnt bothered by media criticism or the team drafting another QB.

Unless I'm dreaming, I've seen numerous reports that he wasnt a great teammate.  I dont know how accurate they are but there's been enough of them.  That's where I get my opinion from.  Obviously your opinion is different I take it?

Lions and Cowboys on Thanksgiving is a fix features as long as I can remember.  Was that a league decision from the earliest days or it just so happened?

Lions have had the game since the 30s... I know the cowboys started hosting games in the 60's and they pretty good so they got fans nationally. Then they solidified their place in 1978 with an official contract. It was as much a PR move for the Cowboys (Americas team) as it was for the NFL.

🤮

Yup

Of the (very little) All-22 I watched last season, a lot of Hurts's runs seemed to be on 4 verticals and other deeper route concepts where his receivers' backs were to him when he took off. Not blaming it entirely on playcalling and/or the receivers, but there didn't seem to be any windows for him to throw into.

Still inconceivable to me that Doug put his entire offense on the line for Press Taylor. What a disaster.

This argument applies to Hurts, too.  A rookie in one of the weirdest off seasons in NFL history.  He played with the same slop and performed at almost the same level as our 5 year franchise QB.  I personally think Wentz was shell shocked.  His mechanics had completely broken down to the point when he had time he'd miss simple throws.  His clock seemed off in part due to the poor OL play.  He got benched (rightfully so) for his piss poor play.  The second that happened he decided to move on.  He needs to look at himself, too, and not just blame the surrounding cast/staff.

I don't know if Hurts is the answer.  He's got the right attitude, is a hard worker, good locker room guy, but I'm not sure he has the ability to quickly diagnose a defense and move through progressions.  I think his arm will be adequate but it's not great.  He ran last year in part because of the piss poor OL.  Wentz probably would've too if he still had that ability.  I'm willing to give him a chance.  Dak came in with some accuracy (intermediate and long), mechanical, slow progression and pocket poise/awareness issues.  He worked hard to improve on those issues and became a franchise QB.  Not saying Hurts will follow that progression but I don't think he's finished product (I hope for the Eagles sake he's not).  I'm willing to give him more than 4 games in a weird rookie year with the same roster and coaches that made our once franchise QB look like garbage before I bury him.  Good news is if he does flop we have ammo to try and get a franchise QB.

First off your post is beautiful and spot on.

Some think Wentz has a right to ask for a trade because he was benched.  BS.  He played awful and deserved to be benched.

The offensive coaching was sooooo bad. Predictable + iso routes for bad WRs = trash.

Well, he killed something. That was horrible. Another thought: why is he playing on this piece? He’s Jewish.

Music has a bit a transcendence. It would be a shame if people segregated music by religion. Just imagine being a classical musician and never touching Bach's St. Mathew Passion.

I do think it's ironic that you say he's our hero, when your avatar is a player from a long time ago who was not the most mature and emotional advanced QB either.

Oh you got me there....

Like I said, I'll leave him alone if it bothers you that much.  I wish him the best in Indy.

It's kind of weird how a lot of these posters who are eager to trash just about anyone from pretty much the day they step on the field go to all ends of the universe to defend Wentz. They typically give the shortest leash imaginable, but Wentz gets miles of rope. In particular, these are posters who trash players for supposedly being "weak-minded," "stubborn," "oblivious," or "poor leaders." If we've ever had a player in recent memory whose actions and the reports surrounding him conforms to that kind of assessment, it's Wentz, yet these guys back him all the way. It's really ironic.

Nobody is backing him you moron. There's just no point in constantly bashing him now that he's gone. What purpose does it serve?

Awww, looks like I triggered you with a dose of reality. Cute. You're delusional. Is "defending" a more acceptable word choice for you, a$shole?

Do you understand English and what words actually mean? Maybe grab a dictionary and figure it out.

Everyone has the right to "ask for a trade". And yes, he played awful, what does that have to do with him thinking his time was done in Philly?

Yeah, that's kind of my job. Come back when you're ready to have an adult conversation, deekhead.

Howie could build another SB winning team and those are those who'd still say "he's not a football guy."

The Eagles record this year will have no impact, since they're committed to a rebuild (noises about being competitive are just that, watch what I do, not what I say).

What will matter is whether the past two drafts are developing into NFL players, because next year's draft is going to be a killer, 4 top 40 picks (even if the Indy pick is a 2nd, it'll likely be a high 2nd b/c if Wentz goes down, so does Indy) in a very deep draft. Look for Howie to try and garner more picks in next year's draft if possible.

Hurts could show solid development and the Eagles could still go 5-12 if the secondary implodes, look at Houston last year.

When people say Howie is "not a football guy" they mean he is too small and they would have trucked him in high school football.

Sad.

Didn't take long for the fanbois to prove my point. Saying that he's moved on and it's water under the bridge is one thing, but the diatribes and, to borrow a term, "purse-swinging," whenever anyone so much as suggests that their golden boy might not have been up to the task just confirms the emotional attachment to Wentz for some of these people. Wentz apologists are like weird stepford wives.

People rip mcnabb on Tate all the time and he's been gone what 15 years???

I have zero problems with posters ripping Wentz or any other eagle or former eagle, the notion that one shouldn't because  Wentz is gone supports the claim that some posters don't want to hold Wentz accountable for his faults.

Applies to Jacoby Stevens.

I only commented on Wentz because there was already a conversation going on in here about him. I didn't just bring it up out of nowhere, but some of you are really sensitive about the subject. It's ok. We know you're sad he's gone and you're just lashing out at others over the pain of rejection.
