Somehow the imbeciles will rant that letting private companies mandate something is government tyranny, but then support actual government tyranny telling private businesses how to operate. DeSantis mandate won’t last long. It’s as unconstitutional as it gets.

If you actually do the elementary math you'd realize how getting everyone vaccinated would forcibly subject the virus to an exponential decline in its ability to reproduce and find new hosts... which ultimately leads to its eradication. Outright eradication is going to be tough now that we know there are plenty of potential zoonotic reservoirs. But we could theoretically still drive case numbers down to negligible levels such that covid becomes an after thought. I say theoretically because a quarter of this country would rather die as idiots than admit being wrong.
September 7, 20214 yr "In recent weeks, however, more data has become available, and it suggests that the true picture is less alarming. Yes, Delta has increased the chances of getting Covid for almost everyone. But if you’re vaccinated, a Covid infection is still uncommon, and those high viral loads are not as worrisome as they initially sounded."' "In reality, the risks of getting any version of the virus remain small for the vaccinated, and the risks of getting badly sick remain minuscule." https://messaging-custom-newsletters.nytimes.com/template/oakv2?campaign_id=9&emc=edit_nn_20210907&instance_id=39765&nl=the-morning&productCode=NN®i_id=138550339&segment_id=68249&te=1&uri=nyt%3A%2F%2Fnewsletter%2F0b2e6509-94d1-5c70-8fc9-ed1c48c30c95&user_id=205190f7f1d34dbfa444530d26d1791f

Even if we ALL vax, this is going to be around for at least 5 years and it will continue to kill in the tens of thousands in the US alone. The pandemic is no f'ing joke. The unvaxed are ankles deep towards mass extinction event.

Yes, we can point the finger at some on the right, but some on the left have thrown gas on the fire and given them talking points. The rest of us are in the middle wanting to keep our families safe. If you have unvaccinated family members who are eligible, encouraging them to get vaccinated is by far the best thing you can do to help keep them safe. If you have kids under 12, look into buying some kids sized kn95 masks if you haven't already. They're not cheap, but it's a small price to pay if it ends up being the difference between a negative test result and a positive one.

I'm honestly curious to see how long it's going to take some political leaders to see the writing on the wall here. McConnell was savvy enough to see it right away, idiots like DeSantis won't ever see it while thousands of his base die off each month.

Cool.

Did you draw that with the crayons that came in the happy mean daddy Donald bought you? Hhhm that sounds familiar, maybe I read it somewhere, oh yeah the constitution under the right to free enterprise. The federal government can mandate travel restrictions on private airlines, maybe you’ve heard of the no fly list. Something every eligible but unvaccinated person should be on. Hey crap for brains, we have faith in our vaccines. But some of us have kids that aren’t eligible yet, so if they let your dirty diseased ass on a plane and you sit next to my unvaccinated kids then YOU put them at risk, through no fault of their own, so why don’t you quit being a giant dewsh for once in your life? Why your clown ass hasn’t been banned is a mystery. I've never even gotten a warning despite you guys crying all the time. And newsflash, I've never had the rona and don't plan on getting it. So direct your ire at someone else.

September 7, 20214 yr Wow, the mental gymnastics in this thread... Republicans: The government shouldn't tell private business what to do! Also Republicans: Buuuuuuuut, the government should force private businesses to employ anti vaxxers And still Republicans: Biden is terrible because he wont do anything to stop covid And finally republicans: Even though Biden isn't doing anything to stop covid, the government in no way should stop or even curtail dopey anti vaxxers from spreading covid to anyone and everyone they possibly can.

September 7, 20214 yr The bickering will continue until this is under control. If I have learned anything, the only way pandemics end is by immunity. Whether vaccinated or natural. Saw where a specialist said a couple more months. Hope she is also right about the northeast not seeing Delta as bad due to high percentage of vaccinated folks. IF, this holds true thru the years end, then can I come back in here and punch some throats? Edited: Sorry v about your best friend.

My grandparents got vaxxed in like Feb or whenever they started taking care of the 70+. My mom and sister are both part of the anti-vaxx and super pro-trump. I sent my mom the posts about trump being vaxxed, telling the people in alabama to get vaxxed, and even the FPA approval and even when these people would have used LACK of those things as the reason to not get vaxxed, when those circumstances all change they then find some new reason to not do it or those situations all being reversed don't reverse their opinon. They came to Minneapolis in early June (a pretty well-vaxxed area IMO) and we were at the mall a few times, the zoo, and shoulder to shoulder with tons randos at two separate Twins games.... but 2 weeks from now we are going to Orlando and will be in amusement parks all day, so we'll see if the FL variant kills them or not.

Every single one of us is going to get it sooner or later and most of us will more than once. The vaxed have 5-10x better chance to survive.
