That would make sense. He’s salary filler in a trade at this point. He’ll never play again.

Yup. I think he was going to be a salary filler in a trade anyway. Kyle neubeck actually asked about that in the presser about how it affects them being able to do that. And Glenn and morey declined to answer the question saying they can’t think about that right now cause they were worried about Danny as a person

I’d go with Cassell, Ham and hardy. But knowing the sixers they’ll commit to someone with nba HC experience. Plus they have connection with d’antoni even before morey got here. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t d’antoni if they made the move to fire Glenn. So you really aren’t improving at HC so they better figure a way to build this roster uo which i don’t see happening. Listened to embiid talk on 975 in his exit interview say the president and GM are going to do everything they can to to get a championship. That means possibly trading guys who have been here a while, himself (embiid) and maybe bring in some others. Found it curious he mentioned himself as a trade candidate as the only way i see them trading embiid is if he asks to be dealt to a contender.

Yeah.  I’m with that.  The constant mindless Jay Wright takes just make this fan base look dumber.   It’s lazy and typical.

Maxey tried to meet with Doc today to go over what skill development he should focus on in the summer.

Doc refused to meet with him.  He says because he thinks Maxey should be taking off more than a week.

I would argue the theory of the process made sense and would’ve worked if you had better ownership, better general manager and better decision makers. The 76ers had a treasure chest of assets. If you use those draft picks, cap space and trade assets wisely you could’ve built a title contender that was sustainable for the next decade.

ownership  flip-flopped on the process because the NBA bullied them and they didn’t have the balls to step up to them. So it changed course halfway through and colangelo took over who was pushed upon the sixers and really did a bad job. Then they gave people like Brett Brown and Elton Brand way too much power even though they wouldn’t listen to brand when he wanted to trade Simmons when he took the job. And it was finally too late. the last trade asset they had was Simmons. they and morey only wanted the big time star in harden. And botched that.

I will fight to the end if you do the process and you have better decision makers and better ownership I think the Sixers right now could be a consistent title contender. The problem is you had bad ownership, bad general managers and bad decision-making. Plus instead of being tough on their players they baby them as an organization.

All of this checks in my book.  The Process was the right path for the team.  Hinkie had the right vision for how to remove the team from purgatory.  The problem was his gutless upper management/ownership that didn’t stand their ground when the approach became too unsavory.  If Hinkie stayed, there’s no doubt in my mind that this team would be a perennial winner.

Why do you think Rivers and Morey met with the press so soon after being eliminated?   Because Rivers wants to get out of town.  He probably has a tee time in So Cal this morning.

Question just for fun…would you trade Embiid and Harden for Tatum?

Do you think we can realistically ever expect to get out of Embiid in the playoffs what the Celtics are getting out of Tatum?

Tatum and Maxey is a restart. But you don't have any other assets to be able to add around them. Not sure it helps us get anywhere.

He just turned 24, showing he can carry a team, already a top 10 guy and tall athletic wings are where you should build a team from.

Of course you make that trade

Tatum in an elimination game went for 46 on 13/26 and 7/15 from 3.

Embiid got 20 on 7/24 and 2/8 from 3.

That game last night was absolutely amazing from Tatum last night and might have been his arrival to superstar level.

If you like basketball then you are planning your day around to watch Giannis and Tatum go at it tomorrow.

Woj on espn last night says he doesn’t think Glenn gets fired and the sixers want him back. Unless things deteriorate in exit interviews about the vision of the future he’s back.

On Sirius radio a lakers insider said Glenn isn’t leaving for the lakers due to sixers closer to a title and the lakers only want to give their HC two  years guaranteed and a third year option. Add on the sixers own doc 3 years 24 mil left. If he’s fired they want d’antoni who is gonna make close to that and they’d have to pay Glenn all of that remaining to not coach.

Lakers never wanted Glenn. They sure as hell didn't bring in Phil Jackson and magic Johnson to help them bring in freaking rivers 🤣😅🤣😅

Honest question; does last year team beat the heat.  I think so even with Simmons shooting issues he gives you everything this year Harden is giving but with more effort, rebounding, same assists along with better D.  Maybe even contains Jimmy Butler.  I am not a fan of Simmons, but I am beginning to think last year team was a better team even with the spacing issues.  Which really speaks to how jacked up our roster is.

Im not sure last years team even gets out of this years 1st round.

You can think about what you think Simmons would have done differently, but the fact remains he was a net negative. Team would have done worse.

Team lost for a bunch of reasons this year.

1. Doc Rivers. 2. Embiid always injured in playoffs (and we know Simmons doesnt step up on that stage to pick up his slack) 3. Another late trade for a big time player that requires major adjustments with little time to gel. 4. Daryl Morey making the wrong trade, and letting go of key players in Curry and Drummond just so he can land a big name player despite being washed up.

They matched up well with Miami. They are more talented than Miami by FAR. And still managed to lose. Adding another big time loser back to the team wouldnt have been the answer. It would have made it worse.

The team that would have won a chip by now was the team with Butler. Pay him, and even Harris. Eventually still realize Ben has to go. Even if you traded Ben for Harden still...

Harden

Reddick

Butler

Harris

Embiid

Theres your big 3.

Imagine that, now with maxey in reserve as well. Or Maxey in the starting lineup and Reddick off the bench.

First quarter by Giannis

10 points 8 rebounds 6 assists

Just wow
