Yikes Ben.  That stat line is brutal for a debut.

   was this thread here before or did you bump & rename it?  i didn't see a regular season thread the other day so i started one.

No, it's brand new.  We just got up to 1141 pages in two days.

It's the same thread as last year when you attempted the same thing out of buttsoreness.   I was traveling and late to update the title.

Other posters did that in response to the loss to the C’s Tuesday night, Dick Trickle.

Do you get a technical foul this year for moving around on offense? I don’t get this.

They finally started doing pick and rolls and cutting a bit and it looks better. Maxey still needs to be more aggressive.

Didn’t see this until now.  Rubin selling his share.

Seems to further pave way for the new arena deal.

I was surprised to just find that on ESPN tonight. I thought he already sold over the summer. Because he had that deal with Harden and his new wine company. I thought he had to have sold his share already to do an individual deal with a player like that.

I wonder if ESPN is just slow on the uptake.

I was watching earlier and thinking bout how Doc has no offense.

We thought it was bad that Brett Browns entire system was Reddick running circles around Embiid to fire up a 3. We went from bad to worse. Now its just 4 players standing still watching a slow Harden ISO, or a slow Embiid iso turnover.

Really felt like the Celtics hot shooting carried in to this game for Milwaukee at the start. Theyve since cooled a bit and 6ers clawed back.

I just dont see any efficiency out of this team, or real flow to the offense. I dont see how this team makes a run.

Maxey, by his standards is having a cool start to the season. House is cold as a cucumber from 3. Harden and Embiid are inefficient.

This one is likely going to have to be a dogfight to the end.

I’m sure it was more a legal thing that they needed certain docs and agreements to be signed before they allow the press to go to print.

Yep.  It’s the same boring half court sets with Harden and his ISO game.  He looks good though.  Lots of twitch.

The second unit has better motion in their offense. Why isn’t Joel rolling to the basket when he and Harden pick and roll?

Moepel is back.

Besides some of the other things you guys have talked about, i don’t see this starting lineup with Harris and tucker in it working out. I don’t think either can play the 3 well enough to make it work. Both are better playing the 4 which means one should be coming off the bench. Really not sure what you can do until the deadline when Harris becomes a somewhat valuable trade chip as he becomes an expiring contract at the end of the season and someone might want to take that on and then buy him out this offseason.

also niang and house have been pretty useless offensively so far through 1.5 games.

When Joel is not good offensively, he just gives up on all other aspects. Cool stuff.

Joel looks out of shape and disinterested

Harrell is one of the better scorers on this team (sadly). But hes a little mid-range, and a lot of cherry picking. He needs minutes to do his scoring. You cant split time between him and Paul Reed. Its gotta be all Harrell for 15-20 minutes a night. I might get crazy and say even 25-30 a night. And you have to commit to sitting Joel (probably would be helpful), and Tucker for him.

The team needs Maxey and Melton on the court together, with a big who can play the fast game. Maxey and Melton, being the only to young, athletic guys on the team need not he incumbered by the plodding guys with their 85 year old playing style.

I would love to see a lot of Harden, Maxey, Melton, Harris, Harrell

I think Harden can make a great outletpass to get the break going, Melton and Maxey can run, and Harris and Harrell are more well suited as the bigs for that style.

I think that group would be capable of making some runs in games. Which this team really hasnt generated at all in 2 games yet.

Because when he and Harden are on the court together, one of the two of them runs the point and everyone else stands around and watches.

I think 1 game was easy to throw out. I now thing, being embarrassed in game 2 should really get legitimate hot seat talk going for Doc.

Yes, of course its early. But this team is far, far away from competing with two of the Easts elite.

I dont think we can keep making excuses for him. Other teams went through an offseason of the exact same length, made free agent acquisitions, etc. Other teams are ready to play. Our team looks like the season hit them 2 months too early.

We have 1 new player in the starting lineup. Thats not that extreme. They should look better, and they dont.

how about that. they made a run.

We need to stop ****ing with lack of fouls and hustle back on defense. Harden and Embiid are the two main culprits.
