The Sixers have title aspirations and a Center that will not play close to 82 game, but you trust a rookie who decided to play in Serbia instead of another year at Gonzaga and a 28 year old that had not played more than 9.7 minutes per game and scored more than 3ppg.

5th seed here they come.

You highlighted a bigger problem without realizing it.

And how is deciding to play in the competitive Adriatic League a bad thing? He said he went there to add more to his game that he wasnt getting the opportunity to do at Gonzaga. And now you have a guy who had no 3 point shot in his game go shoot over 46% in the pros.

The guy is going to be instant offense off the bench, and should be able to do it immediately. Maybe you dont start him. Maybe you start Pelle. Who  is no worse than Howard was most of the season. Washed up Howard to Pelle is a lateral move. Adding Petrusev to the picture is a massive upgrade.

Now, about those title aspirations with that Center who cant be relied on....

Kanter would be my #1 option then Gorgui Dieng, Zeller, Robin Lopez, Luke Kornet, Willy Hernangomez.

These dude have played in the NBA and shown they can play in the NBA. You can't go with unknowns at the position where the dude is going to get hurt. Dieng would be a great look because he can shoot a good 3 ball as well.

yeah, they're not going into the season with a backup center with no nba experience.  it's amazingly stupid to think they would. and pelle stinks.

turrible takes, as usual.

Then why was he the 50th pick in the 2nd round if he is going to be so amazing. He isn't some gem teams just forgot about.

Are you really calling the Adriatic League a competitive league over college, come on man. This dude will help the Sixers by getting abused in practice by Embiid and making sure he gets his Chik Fli A order correctly. Not playing major minutes for the Sixers.

So now what?

Filip Petrusev was selected with the 50th overall pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the recent NBA draft. Players in that selection range tend to be stashed outside the NBA and that is looking like the case for the young Serbian big. "We think Petrusev is someone who has a real chance to help us down the road,” explained 76ers president Daryl Morey, "He’ll likely start overseas and be someone who could come over later.” 2 days ago – via EuroHoops.net

Save it for your own posts. what you suggested isnt even possible, but no one felt like criticizing you because there arent really any other stupid a-holes in this thread that always want to try to look like the smartest in the room.

what does this have to do with signing Pelle in place of Howard? You really know how to sidetrack a discussion.

I’d just like to say I’d be happy if both Harris and Simmons are gone in trades. Simmons has his massive problems but i also think Harris isn’t worth his money and if you could get a couple of pieces for his contract that fit Id be ok with that.

What does it matter if the back up center doesn't have experience in the beginning of the season? There isn't a back up type center in the league that can stop the sixers from losing if Embiid is out. At least to start to start the season might as well see if you can groom one. Hell most teams don't even have a center back up at all, they are all small ball guys.

nah...Morey is bluffing.  They're going to give the 50th pick big minutes as a rookie.

what teams around the league have cap space to sign Kawhi?

If Petrusev is staying overseas, they wont be able to.

You sure he is not just not signing a longer contract with the Clippers.

No Im not sure. Clippers just didnt seem to work out so well for those guys. That was a really nice roster a few years ago. They sold out, made special rules for stars which upset other players. And Harris, Harrell, and Lou Will and others all ended up out of there. They seem further away from winning after they sold out for the big talents.  Not only due to the exodus of good players, but locker room culture as well.

He might be looking for a 2 year deal from them that pays nearly double his player option.

possible.

Im pretty sure before he does he might at least check in on Miami.

But you also have to think teams desperate to keep their stars might make a play to get a sign and trade done. Maybe Chicago or Portland....

Im sure Morey will make a pitch, but of course we will be turned down right away.

And I dont think any of those teams have cap space. Im not sure who does.

I will bet he does a 1+1 and then signs a 5 year max because right now he can only go 4 years. I also bet he doesn't play this year.

PELLE IS GARBAGE. HE ISN'T 23 WITH POTENTIAL, he is 28 and 29 in Feb with a career high of 3 rebounds.

He will never make an impact in the NBA, never.

Enes Kanter averaged 11 points and 12 rebounds last year in 24 minutes a game. He had a 24 points 30 rebound game last year so their are absolutely options that can hold the fort down when Embiid doesn't play.

He is coming off 2/9.7 and I bet he commands something similar

so our MLE

But we might need to replace Green, a starter. And who knows what holes may be created if we trade Simmons plus a bunch of other players to get a star.

I think spending the MLE on perimeter talent is far more important than a backup center.

Perimeter talent is how you win in the NBA and we are devoid of perimeter talent for years and years.

What's going on with Mike Conley?

I doubt the Jazz can afford to resign him

I heard they're looking to keep him.

Leonard and Paul both declined their player options and are now unrestricted free agents

"Insiders" were saying suns will most likely offer him a 2 year deal...something like 2/65 or 2/70.  we'll see.
