I’d rather they drafted a few guys especially to replace Barnett. I’d only take Barnett back as a rotational guy on a much cheaper salary. As far as BG is concerned he’s going to try and come back from a major injury. He’s an older guy now who relies on a quick initial burst to be effective. He’s always going to have great instincts especially against the run, but I wonder if he comes back with his burst. This is one of the bigger downsides of Howie. He’s been relying way too much and too long on older more injury prone players. Of course it would help if he drafted better replacements too.

Agreed, certainly on Barnett. I probably wouldn't bring him back but if he was willing to take a rotational type role then I guess I might? I actually don't know what kind of contract he's going to ask for and get to be honest. This year his numbers have not been good at all but I'm sure he will at least want around what Sweat got.

He doesn’t deserve what Sweat has gotten. Sweat has actually improved every season. He hasn’t jumped into elite status, but every year he’s been better as a pass rusher and is finally staying healthy. He’s also not taking all of the Barnett bad penalties either. Let him go and find his market. If it’s more than what Howie thinks he’s worth then see ya.

I agree with you he doesn't deserve... But he's been a full time starter since we drafted him and he was a first round pick. I'm not saying he deserves what Sweat got but I suspect at minimum that will be his starting point.

And there's a good chance that with 19 (I think that's right but it could be 20) NFL starts under his belt that Hurts next week could gain more passing yards in his short NFL career than Wentz in the play offs.

If Wentz ends the game under 200 yards (which by all accounts it's going to happen), then he'll have 8 games under 200 yards passing vs Hurts 9 games and he'll average less passing yards/game in 2021 than Hurts.
