This should be the hope but at the same time, and I could be wrong, but Driscoll more than held his own at RT.  I didn't watch him but I also didn't notice him which is generally good for OL.

For the sake of saving a 1st round pick, yes we want Dillard to make it worthy of keeping him.  However, if Driscoll can hold down RT with Mailata at LT, then that could make Dillard expendable again.

Dillard and Driscoll playing well gives the Eagles a great situation.

Agreed, I just don't see Howie willing to give up on a 1st round pick that he also traded up for to start a late round pick that is just solid. That is of course if doesn't get great trade value for Dillard

In this thread, XXY is a formation on offense.

Does anyone know the practice squad IR rules?  Was there any timeline that Clark had to be on the IR list?

One thing about Jaylen Smith is that he's apparently a class act and great guy.  I have no issue bringing that in to the locker room.

I say that not knowing if he did something that caused his release or if it was purely because of performance vs. contract and LB depth they have.

Then he never belonged on the Cowboys

While I understand the need/motivation to respect privacy, especially in personal matters, the smart thing to do with the Lane situation would be to divulge just enough info to avoid speculation.

Too much talk about conduct issues, steroids, fights, etc.  The longer it goes, the more people will start to assume it's a problem worth buttoning up.

We're rebuilding. We'll be shedding a half dozen veterans over the next two seasons as we groom replacements. We're not adding expensive veterans.

This year is about building an offense, we've added four young WRs, two young TEs (Stoll and Jackson) to go with Goedert, a bunch of young OL, and RBs (though they are always fungible). It'll take the full season for them to jell, not just Hurts' development, but getting him on the same page with his WRs and Gainwell, and working in Stoll and Jackson when he returns. JJAW wasn't worth a late 2nd rd pick, but he's becoming a top blocking WR (key to screens and outside runs) and ST guy.

Next two drafts will be primarily about defense, we don't need a 1st rd LB, we do need a few guys picked between the 2nd and 4th rds who are better players/athletes than the dreck we're fielding. We need better safeties and at least one stud on the DL.

I'm sure Howie will figure out away to screw up all those draft picks, probably pick a tweener fast ball DE in the first follow that up with an injured corner then get around to drafting a safety to turn him into a LB and maybe at the end draft a few scrub LBs who played DE in college with a few OL and WRs in between...☹️

I'm seeing it more and more with my LinkedIn contacts and I had my first introduction to a woman who said "my name is Marie and I go by She/Her"  I had no idea how to respond.  I said OK.

Also, not quite the pronoun thing but the CDC has new guidelines on how to address all sorts of people.

https://www.cdc.gov/healthcommunication/Preferred_Terms.html

Changing the way a classification is worded is still a classification. The CDC document demonstrates as much. Basically all their reclassifications are just synonyms.  Instead of pro football player, try person who plays professional football.

I think you're a bit out of date. For one thing, there are individuals with XXY chromosomes. So exactly what "reality" are we dealing with? And of course, genes don't work on their own, they are blueprints but the prenatal environment can have a significant impact on their expression.

I mean even a conservative business magazine gets it:

Next thing you're gonna tell us that homosexuality is a biological aberration, despite it being identified in practically every mammalian species.

Now I hate PC BS, but the fact that a few left wing crazies blow these issues up just makes them as obnoxious as the right wing crazies who want to depend on prejudice or books of religious mythology to make life miserable for people who don't fit into conventional categories.

Common sense, empathy, tolerance and humor is the best way to deal with these issues, don't make life any harder than it already is for most people.

Sex is binary - just consider gamete size.

Even in Farley's case, he dropped from a likely pick at 8/9 to 22. Stingley maybe drops from Top 5 to no later than 15 I'd guess, depending on his workouts/recovery.

Foot injuries can have all sorts of results.  They can be difficult to heal at times.  Some never fully recover from lys franc surgery.  CB is not LG.  Thus the impact on Stingley could be much more significant than the impact on Seumalo.

What's the rush to trade him?

Well certainly zero rush if something huge with Lane is going on. Otherwise, he's basically a less competent LT version of Dallas Goedert, overaged and waiting his turn until his rookie contract expires.

Shame on everyone speculating then.  It has been stated as 'personal', and he chooses not to share.  That's his decision.   People should just back off and let it play out.  He doesn't owe it to the fans or the media to share.  I'm sure he shared with his employer, at least enough for them to be satisfied.   People need to just stop pushing, and wait it out.

People shouldn't assume anything.

Did they change the rule? I thought his next failed drug test would be for 1 season

Honestly, who cares what a bunch of idiot Eagles fans and beat writers speculate on? It's personal.....................end of story.

Correct, he doesn't owe them anything.  But people are going to speculate, that's just the way it is.  You can't be a public figure with a public job and not fall victim to speculation.  And it could have been labeled differently to put the brakes on the speculation.  But they chose not to, which is their prerogative.

I don't.  Lane and the organization might.  Or might not.  I don't know.

Not their problem.  The problem lies with those that can't take what has been said at face value and leave it be.  It is "personal".  That should be enough for people to leave it be.

The rule is flexible. One is the norm but it allows for two.
