Right now Sanders is a barely get to first base hitter.

That's because he seems to be swinging for the fences.  He needs to literally be a 'gap hitter', and the home runs will come.  Take what is there, and make the most of that.  Almost always, the hole that's designed needs to be the hole you hit, and you make your move to get the big chunk in the hole, not before you get to the hole.  Right now, he's looking for big plays.  That almost never works out.  Take the 'easy' play and hit the hole when the hole is there.   (That's rookie stuff, honestly, he should know better by now.)

Do you think a lack of attempts is playing into it? Miles has always seemed to be.....somewhat immature I guess is the way to put it, and I wonder if mentally he's just not in the groove due to lack of touches. You're absolutely right that he needs to stop trying for the home runs, but I wonder how much the lack of consistent touches is affecting him.

4 penalties in 2 games are not good.  People kill Barnett (rightfully) for his penalities.  Dillard deserves criticism for 4 penalties in 2 games.

Barnett offers very little, has been here a few years and still commits dumb penalties. Dillard has played well.

Doesn't whichever side is the blindside of the QB play into this, as well?   Essentially, you want your best blocker on the side that protects the QB from an unseen/unprotected hit.

Yes that too, I know the Bears will move Kahil Mack to whichever tackle is the weakest blocker. I think that one game against us they lined him up on the left and the right and he got stone walled on both sides.

I use draft kings because of the ecosystem tied together with the daily fantasy and the market place for NFTs.

All apps are connected to the same bankroll.

But if I was starting from scratch,  and choosing just for sports betting,  I'd do fanduel for their same game parlays. DK just adopted that this year but didn't do it nearly as well.

Ertz, Cox, Barnett should be gone.

See if someone wants to take a flyer on Reagor for a 3rd, See if a playoff team needs DL depth with Kerigan(for some gatorade would be ok) and I'd actually dangle Miles Sanders out there and see if was can get a 3rd

Ertz, Cox, Barnett and add Lane & Hurts. I would add Brooks to that list but he is on IR

If we are going to rebuild, lets do it right! Start with all new young Olineman. And Hurts only muddys the waters at the QB position, ultimately he isn't an elite QB, so he can go for a 4rth.

We all rightfully want to trade Ertz for futures, but Zach has been good this year.

I would not hate being a seller at the deadline.  We've got a lot of "names" that are past their prime and we need to re-boot.

If I'm GM:

Untouchable: Devonta Smith, Jordan Mailata

Everybody else: Make an offer.

In 2020 Sanders played in 12 games.

There are 6 games which I consider he was able to get in a groove.  Those are bolded.  In those games he had over 15 carries and averaged between 3.7 and 5.5 YPC.  You want your RB to be above 4 YPC IMO.  4 of those 6 games he was and the other 2 he was close.

There are 3 games which he had "homerun" plays.  They are in green.  Those included 2, 74 yard runs and an 82 yard run.  In 2 of those games, without the HR play, he averaged between 1.5 and 2.5 YPC.

The other 3 games, in yellow he had 13, 6 and 10 carries.  No groove, no HR play, nothing special.

vs. Rams.  20 carries for 95 yards, long of 15.  This is a bell cow performance where he's the guy.  4.75 YPC, no homeruns, just good running.

vs. Bengals.  18 carries for 95 yards, long of 19.  Another perfect example of Sanders being the guy.  5.28 YPC,  no homeruns, again just good balance.

vs. 49ers.  13 carries for 46 yards.  3.54 YPC.  Nothing special here.

vs. Pittsburgh.  11 carries for 80 yards, long of 74.  Take away the homerun play and he had 10 carries for 6 yards, 1.6 YPC.

vs. Baltimore.  9 carries for 118 yards, long of 74.  Without the homerun play 8 carries for 44 yards, still a healthy 5.5 YPC.

vs Giants.  15 carries for 85 yards, long of 14.  5.67 YPC.  1st game back from injury.

vs. Browns.  16 carries for 66 yards, long of 11.  4.13 YPC

vs. Seahawks.  6 carries for 15 yards, long of 8.  5 carries for 7 yards was the rest.  Less than 1 YPC.

vs. Packers.  10 carries for 31 yards, long of 8.   3.81 YPC.  Jalen Hurts first game, does play calling change moving forward?

vs. Saints.  14 carries for 115 yards, 82 YD long.  Without the homerun, 13 carries for 33 yards 2.5 YPC.

vs. Cardinals.  17 carries for 64 yards, long of 10.  3.76 YPC.

vs. Cowboys.  15 carries for 57 yards, long of 7.  3.8 YPC

Sanders does offer the HR threat and from a statistical view, he might give you a HR ever 4 games.  He also fumbled 4 times so there's the same chance he might fumble as there is he might break a HR play.

I think he's a good running back, no where near a top running back in the NFL. With Gainwell emerging as a threat, I don't think we're going to see Miles Sanders ever get those groove game touches again unfortunately.  A lot is going to depend on what Sirianni does with the offense.  I'd love to see Sanders get those 18-20 carries per game but it's just not going to happen.

I think if you get offered a 3rd for Sanders, you take it.  Wouldn't take anything less.  I don' see him wanting to sign a 2nd contract here so might as well get value.

I cant let him win at anything so I learned/practiced when he wasnt looking and now I do it very well too.

Funny seeing the face of friends/family when he and I use chop sticks

My wife and I used to live in SF and one day she took me to China Town to get some dim sum, so we get our food and I pull out my chopsticks and I'm really struggling as my wife is trying to show me how to use them.

The table next to us had a couple Chinese kids at it probably around 5 or 6 years of age that started laughing at my ridiculous attempts to use chopsticks, finally the little old lady that owned the place walked out smiled handed me a fork and walked off shaking her head, the kids continued to laugh at me.☹️

2020 is such an anomaly that I find it hard to draw any conclusions, one way or the other on any player. I get your overall point though.

Gainwell hasn't shown enough yet to aggressively move on from Sanders, IMO. Sure, if somebody makes a great offer you do it. And we would also need to consider if Siranni/Lowie are insistent on running the same offense we've seen so far, Sanders becomes even more expendable.

Sorry watching this breakdown of what Hurts did well, what he missed... is just frustrating. On one drive alone, where we settled for a FG, we had opportunities for easy 3 TD's... and he was bailing early, and just missing wide open guys or not trusting what he see's. Damn this is frustrating. The Offense is working if we just had a real QB

What does, good this year matter to any player over 30. This is not a one year rebuild. If Zach is amiable to a move to a team that suits his family situation ( Julie plays in Chicago, she is from AZ and he is from CA, not sure if Julie still plays for the WNT), trade him.

I can use chopsticks.  I can also eat my hands and a knife but fortunately world religions and millennium wars weren’t the only thing spawned in the Middle East so I prefer to use a fork.  It is more efficient.

Granted he's an unknown, but Tyree Jackson should be back at the end of the month.  You have to weigh his potential vs. what Ertz gives you for the final 7-8 games of the year.  They might be able to have a healthy Jackson for a week before the deadline.

I don't see them cutting Stoll either.  He's a core STer at this point as well as playing some on offense.  Would they really carry 4 TE?  Maybe they would as they never seem to want to fill the 53rd spot on the roster anyway.

OOf - in that first drive when he just runs in a circle it's not great.  It looks like that he was more aware of the rush than his first read.  He just needed to step up and make a decision. Instead he just stepped up and never got his feet set again for no real reason.  He had time and receivers that were open.  I will say we saw these same problems with Wentz and have seen them with Foles.  I think every young QB has these issues.  It's not like good QBs never make these mistakes.

cardinals makes a ton of sense for ertz to be traded too. They could use a tight end as their starter is maxx Williams who’s been ok so far this year. they are contenders, right now top 5 team and that’s a move that could put them over the top.

Eh Williams has been ok, but they have so many mouths to feed there (Hopkins/Green/Moore/Kirk/Williams) that I can't see them making that move.

Quite right. Once his eyes come down he can't reacquire his reads. Randall had that issue big-time when he came up. Wentz certainly did and still does. I've said before, he needs to get quiet feet. When  Driscoll ran his man past the pocket Hurts had a clean platform from which to throw. Now, part of that may have been that he didn't trust Driscoll to make that block.

I can definitely see it. Living out here they’ve been discussing it for months now and gambo seems to be leading the train. In that division even with the mouths to feed that would really give them another dimension. I also think they could use a corner but i don’t think theyd want to pay the price it’s going to cost for that position to get one of the quality they need.
