Gainwell is a better receiver than Sanders, but he's not in the same class as a runner...  no way in the world I'd trade Sanders...

We're only touching the surface of what Gainwell can do.  He's explosive and fast.  What I like about him is he makes a decision and goes.  Sanders, as good as he is, doesn't and misses the running lane more often than you'd like.

Sanders isn't being utilized here, there's probably a 10% chance he gets a 2nd contract here.  If you can move him at the deadline for a decent return you do it.

I think it’s safe to assume they spoke about a trade at least, just knowing that Howie inquires about everyone that’s available for trade. I get the dislike for Howie, I’d like him gone also. But it’s frustrating when fans are like "I can’t believe Howie didn’t make this trade” and hate on him when we really don’t know anything about behind the scenes outside of reports. Even then those reports are going to have some sort of bias or tactic behind them and aren’t always going to be truthful

I agree, it frustrates me as well. A lot more goes into these trades then just Howie calling a team and saying " hey can I give you this?" Oh ok bye lol.

100%. If we are being honest the complete rebuild of the defense should’ve started at the end of 2019 season.

Yep.  That was the right time to do it.  We've been on the same page on this for some time now as were a few others.  It's hard to be objective as a fan sometimes but you could see this mess coming back then.

They didn't and had a chance to start the rebuild last year with a new GM and a new HC but only went 1/2 way.

Now, here we are, more and more contracts getting backloaded further hampering the salary cap and a lot of premium picks sitting in the hands of an incompetent GM.  Sucks.

I stand by what I said...  as a runner, Gainwell is not in Sanders' league...

I was hopeful (I'll never learn) that the DL would make up for our weakness at LB and the lack of depth at safety...  then Graham goes down, Cox is MIA, Kerrigan looks shot, and Barnett is an even bigger idiot than I realized...

I think the Chiefs doubled him 13-14 times, plus and I guess now for an obvious reason the Cowboys and Chiefs both ran the ball 30 plus times, no way Fletch is used to that on back to back weeks.  It not the large doses of Emmitt Smith Cowboys but the last two O Lines went old school on the Eagles.  By mid 3 quarter on, the Eagles D line was looking for the truck that ran em over several times.
The Eagles prefer to keep opposing Defensive Lines as fresh as possible, very nice of them really.

Not yet and he may never be but the Eagles staff clearly likes him and is using him more and more while using Sanders less.  If they aren't going to use Sanders, might as well get something for him IMO.

Thompson is already ruled out. McCaffrey is really the only one of interest over there.

They can sign DeAngelo Williams back and he’d still rush for over 100 yards.

Really? Sanders IMO isn’t a great runner. He’s always dancing and doesn’t hit holes straight forward. I think Gainwell we’ll be better overall back moving forward.

Now Ben is upset because they made him play on a winning team to soon .... This can't be real life lmao.

I don't know follow the sixers even a little, I'm a life long jazz fan, and this has to be about the stupidest excuse I've ever heard concocted by an agent and one of his clients.

I miss the NBA of yester year, too many players these days are soft and entitled and Simmons is right at the top of that.

Agreed, all his excuses have been pretty pathetic.

I thought I would still enjoy it but, it's getting hard too. Giannis at least seems to want to follow in the footsteps of those players so not all hope is gone

You’re right. Gainwell is better.

Gainwell will be the better back going forward. Miles Sanders isn’t that great a Runner. He’s a dancing juking runner with average vision.

Absolutely horrendous take...  or, put another way, your normal crap...

This sanders talk is blasphemy.

He may occasionally miss a hole, but the guy gets yardage, consistently.

He has no problem with dancing. He doesnt lose yards behind the line because of dancing, or  hesitation. He may miss a hole but hes still going up field.

Hes a very efficient runner. And explosive.

The only issue I have with him is how badly he regressed in the passing game from his rookie year.

You and me both, brutha...

Agreed.

He struggled his rookie year with that stuff. Then got much better as the season went on and got even better last year.

I think he may be pressing a bit b cause he doesn't know when he is getting the ball again so he is probably overthinking and not be patient because he feels like if he doesn't break open a big run he won't get the ball again. Which doesn't matter because they still won't give him the ball Afters a big run.

When he is patient and picks the right holes and what not the guy is electric and can take it to the house anytime.

All that being said I still don't think he should get a second contract

None of this matters to me.  I saw everything I needed to from Ben in the playoffs this past year, and now he's the one not reporting to the team.   Good riddance.

I agree, I just find it comical that they are still coming up with excuses for this guy. The next one is worse then the last

At this point, I don't even care.  Cut Ben Simmons.

I don’t either. its one of the reasons why I’m not not putting all my eggs in the dillard at LT and moving Mailata to RT for the long term.

Why does a decision need to be made for the long term right now?

For me its simple, which OL I think is better for Sunday.

Dillard - Dickerson - Kelce - Driscoll - Mailata    or     Mailata - Dickerson - Kelce - Herbig - Driscoll

I like the one on the left.  And if that doesn't work out so well, they can always flip it around next week, or more likely it won't matter beyond this week, because Johnson will be back and Mailata can move back to LT when Johnson comes back at RT.  I think the best unit of 5 should be on the field, and I think that's the one for Sunday with Dillard at LT and Mailata at RT.  Nothing 'long term' about this.  But, it does allow a chance to see what that would look like for a Sunday.  But, it certainly wouldn't be any kind of long term commitment.

It's true. I don't get this.

We don't use Sanders enough on screens, wheel routes or fly pattens. Let the man run!

Nope.   I keep him here and fine him for every day he's not reported.  When he does report, I keep him on the bench and wait for a team to come to me with an offer I can accept.   I don't think I'll get much, but I should get something
