I would actually train dillard the next couple years with mailata and lane in the fold (contractually) to play RT. That should be happening anyway as he’s our top backup tackle. Unless someone offers the eagles something valuable for dillard.

I remember reading that Stoutland is working with Dillard on RT. Swing tackle? Given how the Eagles value linemen, I doubt they're are in a hurry to trade him.

Can’t move the entire team

Either way, we'd still face the same problem...  the guy using the picks the trades might bring back has already caused our defense to be woefully short of impact players...

If they're truly going to go full rebuild on defense (which I'm not opposed to at this point), they'd need to start the rebuild with a different GM...

I wouldn’t trade him unless i got something that’s actually valuable. And by that it would have to be 3rd round or higher pick. I’d make him learn how to play RT. So he can be a swing tackle until lane is gone.

Remember when people didn't wanna trade Sanders for DeAndre Hopkins?

LOL

Another flub by Howie.

Honestly, I'm open to trading Sanders. He's nearing the end of his contract, we barely use him, Gainwell is legit and will only get better.

Might as well maximize his value value.

Gainwell is a better receiver than Sanders, but he's not in the same class as a runner...  no way in the world I'd trade Sanders...

Agents can only do so much.

I’d consider dealing sanders on two conditions: 1. depending on what we got for him (not dealing him for anything less than a 2nd) and 2. If the eagles aren’t planning on giving him a second contract

I'm not sure how Dillard fares against a bull rush. It's not a surprise that he plays well against speed or finesse guys. What happens when somebody tries to go thru him?

If Hurts learns how to sit in the pocket when there's no real danger, watch out. His OL is good!

And that was with 4 backups.

I don’t either. its one of the reasons why I’m not not putting all my eggs in the dillard at LT and moving Mailata to RT for the long term.

Yes, and if team talent falls below what it is now we’d be bringing in good players and plugging them into a losing system for four years and losing them in FA. I don’t want to be the lions of the decade with three all pros and zero playoff appearances

Slay, Nelson, Harris, Sanders, Barnett(lol), Ertz.

Anyone else to trade?

Flacco, Kerrigan. Hell, Wilson if someone is dumb enough. Brooks if healthy.  McLeod?  Hargrave has one year left on his contract after this year, so he is a possibility, albeit remote. And, of course as greend suggests, Howie.

I very much doubt they'd get a 2nd...  and I see no reason not to give him another contract...  they might try to give him a coach who knows how to use him...

100%. If we are being honest the complete rebuild of the defense should’ve started at the end of 2019 season.

You don’t know what trade negotiations were between Houston and Philly

I was hopeful (I'll never learn) that the DL would make up for our weakness at LB and the lack of depth at safety...  then Graham goes down, Cox is MIA, Kerrigan looks shot, and Barnett is an even bigger idiot than I realized...

I kind of doubt they do as well. But it’s what I’d be asking for

I’m also curious to see if sanders evaluation of what he thinks he’s worth matches then eagles on his second contract with one year left on it

Was this a real thing?

They could depending on the scheme they run. Schwartz put run responsibility on the the line on the way to the QB and then on the secondary if they got past the 1st level. Which is why our secondary looked worse then it was and bit on play action so much.

This scheme puts the run stopping responsibility almost exclusively on the linebackers. Well we don't have those and we have DT that are not use to eating up the blocks for the linebackers to make the play.

We don't even know if they had any at all. There were reports that the Texans didn't give anyone any time to come up with a different offer from what the Cards offered.

Running backs are not particularly highly regarded as commodities...  but, he may want to leave to go somewhere where he's actually utilized; that's the reason I think he'd leave...

Parsons keeping it real

Thompson is already ruled out. McCaffrey is really the only one of interest over there.

Even if it wasn’t against the eagles I’d give mccaffrey another week. They did this last year where he came back then got hurt again. I think Hubbard and Freeman are more than capable against the eagles to win that game. I rather have mccaffrey for weeks 6-18 then risking it for a week 5 game against a bad eagles defense.

I think it’s safe to assume they spoke about a trade at least, just knowing that Howie inquires about everyone that’s available for trade. I get the dislike for Howie, I’d like him gone also. But it’s frustrating when fans are like "I can’t believe Howie didn’t make this trade” and hate on him when we really don’t know anything about behind the scenes outside of reports. Even then those reports are going to have some sort of bias or tactic behind them and aren’t always going to be truthful
