Nope.   I keep him here and fine him for every day he's not reported.  When he does report, I keep him on the bench and wait for a team to come to me with an offer I can accept.   I don't think I'll get much, but I should get something

Or that.  I just can't believe what a POS he's become.

He always was, the team deserves what they get out of this just as much as he does. They didn't have to sign him and he didn't have to sign.

Why does a decision need to be made for the long term right now?

For me its simple, which OL I think is better for Sunday.

Dillard - Dickerson - Kelce - Driscoll - Mailata    or     Mailata - Dickerson - Kelce - Herbig - Driscoll

I like the one on the left.  And if that doesn't work out so well, they can always flip it around next week, or more likely it won't matter beyond this week, because Johnson will be back and Mailata can move back to LT when Johnson comes back at RT.  I think the best unit of 5 should be on the field, and I think that's the one for Sunday with Dillard at LT and Mailata at RT.  Nothing 'long term' about this.  But, it does allow a chance to see what that would look like for a Sunday.  But, it certainly wouldn't be any kind of long term commitment.

For Sunday, im with you. I’ve said that in previous posts. i also would do the left. I suspect stoutland does as well. Michael Kaye tweeted stoutland likes Driscoll a lot at guard and likes him more than herbig at guard. i actually would do the left on Sunday as compared to the right.

However there’s this growing belief we have to move mailata over to RT so that dillard can be the future LT in time when Lane leaves or is done cause of his two game performance this year. I completely disagree with that decision being made as a definitive plan to go forward with. I don’t make that judgment until dillard shown me more than what he has so far to make that long term decision. I’ve said that multiple times in previous posts today I’m not banking on that long term move with just 2 games started this year and so far in his 2.5 year career. I’m not making mailata move to RT until dillard shows me he’s capable of playing 17 games and capable of playing LT at a high enough level that warrants me moving mailata to RT permanently

That part may be true.  It may not be true.  We don't know.   Sunday would be a step towards finding out that answer.  Of course, the good news is that we don't need the long term answer yet, just the answer for Sunday.   We can take tomorrow after that.

Keep Mailata at LT, that’s my stance on that. I want him to keep growing into that position. Band aid RT for rest of the season, and look at eventual replacement for Lane this offseason.

Mailata has ended up on IR every year he’s been in the nfl and is currently out indefinitely with another injury.  In his last game, he got beaten off the snap, driven back, and gave up a sack. I have yet to see a decisive pass protect loss like that for Dillard at LT.

Im not arguing that Dillard is better than Mailata.  I’m a Mailata fan.

But why are we so comfortable saying that Mailata is the next Jonathan Ogden and we can’t even entertain the possibility of making use of Dillard moving forward because it’s only 2 games?

Sanders makes some incredible runs but he leaves meat on the bone way too much.

Mailata wasn't on IR last year and he wasn't on IR this year.

Mailata has an insane amount of ability and potential.  His ceiling is a dominant level of elite.  Before his injury he was already playing as one of the best tackles in the league this season and he is just going to get keep getting better and better the more he plays.  It would be so braindead to sit Mailata or move him to RT for the sake of playing a lesser Dillard if Mailata is ready to go and come back.

Eagles would already have their answer if they would of just let Dillard play out his rookie year. Doubling down on that would be letting dillard stay at LT and forcing Mailata go to RT. Don't eff up Mailatas growth because you were to stupid to stick with Dillard over a broken Peters.

Agree. He could be dominant there. You don't screw with that and move him yet again. If Dillard can't play RT then put him back on the bench or trade him.

Yup. If we're going to carry Sanders, we ned a 2019 Jordan Howard equivalent for short-yardage and high-leverage red-zone plays.

Yeah I can see the logic of putting Mailata on RT to see about Dillard at LT & Mailata potential at RT. they did do something similar with Lane years ago having him at LT for a few games. Didn’t work out clearly. I just don’t think it’s a good idea. To me Driscoll is good enough backup at RT, whether he’s starter level remains to be seen. If anything try Dillard at RT, or LG. This good tape at LT while Mailata is out will help, should Eagles try to trade Dillard in offseason. I’m sure his market will be better and there will certainly be buyers that could overpay. You still have Lane at RT next year, with option of Driscoll taking over RG or RT, Dickerson is there with possibly of being C or one of two guard spots. Add possibility of drafting an OL also. There’s a lot of different routes available there.

As of now the Eagles believe Dillard at LT and Mailata at RT is the best combination.  Driscoll is a super-sub because of his versatility; he can play OG or OT.  When/if Johnson returns he’ll be RT and Mailata will return to LT

At some point soon the Eagles will have to decide if Lane is the best option at RT.  I wasn’t impressed with his play against DAL — Parsons fared better against Lane than he did against Dillard.

Wonder if Lane is/was contemplating mid-season retirement and that is what this weekend away was and all the weird answers about not being able to commit to when he will be back to playing.

Where you seeing this? Because the Eagles named Mailata LT and paid him that kind of money also. I haven’t read anything to indicate Eagles are putting Mailata at RT.

This sanders talk is blasphemy.

He may occasionally miss a hole, but the guy gets yardage, consistently.

He has no problem with dancing. He doesnt lose yards behind the line because of dancing, or  hesitation. He may miss a hole but hes still going up field.

Hes a very efficient runner. And explosive.

The only issue I have with him is how badly he regressed in the passing game from his rookie year.

Blasphemy? Really? You think that highly of Sanders? Man this team really lacks talent if bashing Sanders is blasphemy.

A few pages back someone posted an Eagles beat writer tweet that Mailata was working at RT during individual drills.

Lane is doubtful to play against CAR — it will quite likely be Dillard at LT and Mailata at RT this Sunday

He was doing RT drills at practice today

If they can trade sanders for a 3rd or better I would do it in a heartbeat. They don't use him and he isn't worth what he's likely gonna ask on his next contract

Yeah just seeing that now. Surprised that more Eagles beat didn’t bring attention to that.
