He's going to be. I was thinking McCreary

A little rich to move up a couple of spots for someone who will be a rotational piece his first year. 13th picks are supposed to start right away, but he won't over what we currently have. Losing those extra picks hurts, as they still have to fill CB2, Safety, interior Oline, LB, with four picks remaining.

We aren't getting anything but depth if that with 4th and 5th round picks for those positions for the coming year. The whole DL rotates. FYI.

Kyler Gordon

You're upset with 4th and 5th round picks? Really?

There are some people who will never be happy.  FWIW, that 4th and two 5th's can easily be recouped and then some by moving a veteran like Dillard and/or Reagor.

Agreed. Or trading back a bit in the 2nd if their target isn't there.

Dillard might get you a 4th, more likely a 5th.  Reagor maybe if you're lucky a 7th.  Stop saying they'll get a 4th and 2 5ths...and then some...from these guys.  Dillard and Reagor will not get a 4th + 5th + 5th + more than that.

There, I said it again.  😁

You never know - sometimes you hit in the later rounds.  More often, no.  But as I said before, those later round picks are easily recouped.

Dillard is a 4th, its a premium position. Reagor is def a 7th

Rare that they are immediate contributors especially with Howie making the selections.

Would not have won a SB without Big V (2016 5th), Jason Kelce (2012 6th);   Sweat (2018 4th) and Mailata (2018 7th) are starters, Jack Driscoll (2020 4th), Quez Watkins (2020 6th), Shaun Bradley (2020 6th), Kenneth Gainwell (2021 5th) - all making good contributions.

Perception and reality are often two different things.

Imagine getting mailata in the 7th round.

Is there any stats to show the success of picks based on rounds as a percentage ?

I said rare and reality of how much they immediately contribute can be misconstrued as well. At any rate. They have ammo to get a pick or 2 back if they desire and they'll come out of this draft with 6-7 players. 2 of which are locks to get considerable playing time.

They've had problems with the pass rush but must think he can contain scrambling quarterbacks. If he's coachable, it's a great pick. A lot of upside here.

He attempted a straightline angle while weighing 150 lbs more than the guy he's chasing:

Have you ever seen Vince Wilfork do this? Haloti Ngata? Snacks Harrison? Jordan is bigger than all of them.

He's now 30 lbs lighter than he was in this gif, and ran a 40 time faster than Dak Prescott, Pat Mahomes, and Jameis WInston.

That's who NFL.com projects to us in the 2nd round.

Mailata is proof that Jeff Stoutland is the best in the business.

This guy is the size of Wilfork but more athletic than Aaron Donald.

That’s something to get excited about. I am a little concerned with his height though. It’s easier for a guy his height to lose leverage. He’s going to have to fight in the NFL to stay low.

His mom is a huge Eagles fan so we know she'll light him up if he doesn't get it done.

Cue the Chunky Soup ads with his Mom starring in them. (McNabb reference, although they had an actress play his mom).

Does Jordan Davis struggle with pass rushing?  Yes.  However, nose tackles like Jordan Davis do not come around often.  Nobody is going to run past him, he is an elite run stuffer.  With his athleticism, the potential to rush the QB is there.

I like this pick for us!

People are underrating this pick so much. He could potentially be the best player on the defense in the next 3 years.
