I mean if you wanted to try to walk on every accessible surface and play around with photo mode and locate all sorts of cool view and try to find the best angles and all that to capture images, in conjunction with that hardest difficulty, I could see maybe squeezing 40 hours.

Or a 25-30 playthrough plus however long to go back through to go after that platinum trophy and you probably hit 40 hours that way too.

25-30 hrs is plenty lol. Was just curious

I'm finally able to look up articles and videos about the game now that I've played it, and the most frequent critique/complaint I have seen is people whining like little bishes that we don't get as much character development in this game. Example being how Joel is cold/terse in the beginning of Last of Us, even having the big blow-up with Ellie at Tommy's place saying "you're not my daughter/I'm not your dad", but by the end of the game being a surrogate father figure and caring about/loving Ellie to where he can't sacrifice her.

I mean... just at that fight in Wyoming, Joel and Ellie have been through Boston and Tess dying, through Bill's town, surviving Hunters in Pittsburgh, Sam and Henry's death, and an entire 1000+ miles off screen traveling from Pittsburgh to Jackson. Alllll that time for Joel to still be somewhat angry and ready to drop Ellie until AFTER he gets push back from Tommy and has his Ellie fight. That's a loooong time in the world for Joel and Ellie to come around (even though the Harley story with Henry showed some softening of things).

Flash to TLOU2... and 90% of this game takes place over the course of THREE calendar days. People are literally having hissy fits online because characters didn't develop/change/etc. significantly over 72 hours?!? GTFOH. This world is filled with far too many morons.

I think it's being used as an excuse to hate the game due to teh gheyz and aznz being in it.

People just F'ing suck in general. This game is so smooth gameplay wise, and I LOVE the story so far. I'm going to start another playthrough immediately after finishing it lol

I just really don't understand how a gay, female character, just existing, ruins the game. Like, who Fing cares?

Especially when the gay female character was there the entirety of the first game (well, the entire game after killing Robert over the guns). Which everyone seems to love.

I suspect I'll start the trophy run tonight... there is a Chapter select at the end (and within each Chapter, there are like 5 or more sub-chapter break-outs you can select, each one listing how many collectibles/discoveribles of each type are in that sub-section), but once you select and play one of them, ALLLL the Chapter select after that point in the game vanishes.... so like I don't think you can play the same save file and just jump in and out of the sections you missed.... and if you keep one save file as your BASE and then every chapter select you start you immediately save as a different save file... I don't know if all the collectibles will register?

Similarly... in New Game + I don't know if items I've found already remain "found" or if I have to collect EVERYTHING all over again, including what I missed. I need to google search for answers so I know the best way to achieve this. I need a NG+ to some extent to max out weapons and character upgrades so that is a requirement regardless of anything else.

This is likely better phrasing I just found online describing the chapters/subchapters

The Last of Us 2 has a total of 11 acts, divided into 45 chapters, although not all of them have collectbiles in them.

Do I need to go to the F FEDRA GATE to get to the overpass location that I circled? Worried that I’ll miss out on that ? mark and move on

Without spoiling it what the hell is everyone's problem with the game?! Well not everyone but even the big gamers on YouTube said this game isn't that great

sorry for the delay. Been distracted today (and first day not playing the game).

I think what you have shown is where there is a fire truck. You can grab the hose from the truck, drop it down the overpass, and climb down/swing to get to a turned over truck. I did NOT "fully explore downtown" my first playthrough so when I started my new game plus yesterday I did a much more thorough sweep of the area. In theory you can load your save, "clear" downtown, and the trophy will pop up. Then you can just re-load your current save and continue on with your progress.

If you want platinum you have to put in two playthroughs since there isn't enough supplements and weapon parts to upgrade in one so missing random salvage here and there isn't going to hurt your current gameplay

they're all a bunch of ****ots!

This is NOT a spoiler as my comments are about the first game. There has been a weekly podcast covering the first game and I was listening to the latest episode tonight. It covered the section where Joel tries to pass off Ellie to Tommy at Jackson. Joel says (as the podcast plays audio from the game) something about Tommy can take Ellie the rest of the way and keep the payment for getting her their. Reminded me that Joel and Tess were supposed to get all their weapons back (and THEN SOME) for bringing Ellie to the Capitol Building in downtown Boston. This motherFer brought her "halfway across the country" by his own words, to the SHOCK AND AWE of Marlene.

When Joel comes to, having not only delivered Ellie, but having one WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND in doing so, Marlene is literally like "escort him out of here. If he tried to do something, shoot him." Like literally didn't give my man a SINGLE ounce of payment, and then threatened his life. While him going John Wick may have once looked like a poor taste move on his part.... those Fireflies deserved to get bodied by cheating my mans out of his end of the deal!

On a scale of 1-10 how SJWy is the game?  I was thinking about picking it up but don't want a SJW experience.

About 7 hours in and there is a kind of woke undertone to the game for sure. More than just the main protagonists’ relationship, there are rainbow flags hanging on multiple buildings and rainbow crosswalks in city streets. There is a scene with a anti-gay man early on who gets put in his place and apologizes. It’s there and it’s forced and obvious as it is so often today in other entertainment mediums. If you’re squeamish about that sort of thing it may bother you. IMO, they should have just stuck with the relationship, which seems more natural, to get across their POV.

Anyway, enjoying the game. Very emotional. Great graphics. There usual from ND.

Another hack: if you hold L1+O in different directions it allows you to fall to the ground, and shoot from there. Good way to avoid being shot or eaten.

Lol I didn't get any of this from the game. Haven't noticed any rainbows, and I don't think the dude was "antigay" I think he just over drank and made a joke/said something that hurt someone, and felt bad so he apologized, as he should. Also, of course Joel got mad...Would you not of someone made some comments to your daughter? He could have called her a B and people would have stood up for her regardless of the comment. Who put him in his place? And how is all this stuff I didn't even notice forced?

People, not saying you particularly, are so fragile and will find ish anywhere they can to bish about I swear.

Besides Ellie being ghey, AS SHE WAS IN THE LAST GAME, and Abby being built like a free safety, I really don't get what's so "woke" about it. It's not like anyone in the game walks around talking about gay rights or anything...At least not yet as I haven't finished the game.

Perhaps woke isn’t the right term. More like pride, which I agree, is a good thing. It’s there throughout.

I didn't even see that, unless I'm not too that part yet...Guess I just don't notice it like some others do. IDK.

I did not know! So much uncoverable stuff! Like the gif I saw and shared using a human shield against clicker attacks lmao.

There is an accessibility setting where you push square or circle in listen mode and it will ping on the screen any interactive item (supplements, ammo, cards, letters, bottles, doors) or show any enemy location. Turned that on for new game plus trophy hunt so I can just breeze through maps and not waste hours scavenging every nook and cranny like the engligh muffin man.

basically sent out sonar with a 30m radius. Only downside is its hard to spam because your character crouches and slows down every time you do it... but in houses/stores that are confined spaces it works GREAT
