Back to routinely hitting into double plays. Nice.

Alright we won and didn’t score 4 runs again!

I felt this was appropriate. Never forget

Man, seeing the Duran entrance in person was awesome. Glad they won. The last time I was in that stadium was 2009.

Looked like it was a good outing for Nola. Yes, both game were against the woeful Padres but you have to start somewhere. The next start will be telling.

TBF, the Padres are five games above 0.500

You knew the Pads were losing the series when that came out

Phils tied for 2nd to last in MLB average runs per game. Thank god for the pitching staff because the offense is worse than its been in years. Eeking out wins 3-2 is not a recipe for a playoff contender.

Idk how the padres offense is as bad as ours but they are. Nola taking advantage of it is good. He’s not using his 4 seamer as much cause when he has that’s the pitch the padres have hit hard. He also hasn’t walked anyone the last two games which means he’s been in the zone with his breaking stuff. Curious when the league adjust what his adjustment is going to be.

If we had a real 4th starter we could possibly ride the pitching into the playoffs.

So feels like the Phillies basically did the same thing they did with painter. Instead of just doing a procedure at the time of him being hurt, they thought he could rehab it and would get better. Turned out should’ve just did the procedure in March and he’d have been back by late June/july. Now it’s likely he isn’t playing this year or if he does mid August

He’s done. Another great prospect we have

Eh my dad had that surgery. He was fine after like six weeks and his back had felt great since. The fact that they just waited to do it when they could’ve just done this to begin with is irritating. This is the same thing with painter where they just wanted to do rehab instead of just doing the surgery (really this isn’t remotely invasive as painter’s) to get him back quicker

Dombrowski and Thomson definitely hitting a HR tonight

Third all time in scoreless innings streak now - if he gets through this game unscathed he’ll have a chance at the all-time record next start.

Also - our offense is still absolute smoldering hot garbage. Embarrassing.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

G-- DAMN YOU

Sorry guess it was 5th all time. Would have been cool to see him go after the all time record considering there’s nothing else about this team worth rooting for.

How weird of a first name is Orel?

Now that the streak is over, how awesome is it that we got to witness something like that?

I don't think they'll be able to find a way to keep Sanchez off of the All-Star team this year...
