Thought about this the other day, Phillies might be better off going after a 1B at the deadline. Move Harper back to RF and have Garcia/crawford platoon. Garcia is slashing .253/.343/.525/.869 against LHP. Meaning if Crawford is solid vs. RHP you improve the outfield platooning them and then get a power hitter at 1b. Options at 1b: Christian Walker, Nathaniel Lowe, Wilson Contreras and Jake burger. All having good years

Harper isn't going back to RF. I know he says he will for the right player, but I think it's all lip service, so he doesn't get blow back from the fans. They could tell Bryce they are bringing back 2006 Ryan Howard and I'm telling you behind the scenes, he would fight it tooth and nail.

Tbh I actually think it’s about equal Phillies and Bryce. I think the investment that the Phillies have in Bryce Harper they think if he goes back to the outfield, he’ll decline faster. they want him to hit 500 home runs in a Phillies uniform and don’t want him to come up short by deteriorating fast. I do think he doesn’t want to Play outfield either for those reasons as well and some other.

That said the options at first base are far better than the outfield options for right handed bat.

Has Kerkering been brought out to start another inning after completing a full inning at other times this season or was this the first time? Regardless, I like it. That's another thing Thomson refused to do during the season. That dummy waits to do it in the playoffs only to see it backfire.

stott clutch hit

Ofc they blow it.

Can't be blowing Wheeler games

Duran has been great this year. Phillies have a ridiculous record in one run games - biggest issue continues to be scoring runs. Broken record, I know.

They also can’t keep having Duran throw on back to back nights. At some point he’s going to wear down.

Be nice if they could get the ninth with a lead that wasn’t less than 3 runs too

I wasn't necessarily putting it on Duran, I meant overall

Good Game

Waking up to Duran blowing a save wasn't what I had in mind. Guess you can't win all the 1 run games and Duran is going to blow a save or two. Need to win today to take the series and head to Milwaukee only needing a game to complete a .500 roadtrip.

He was bound to blow one sooner or later. The two hits to begin the inning were pretty flukey. He was also experiencing pitchcom issues, which caused a hard time communicating between him and Realmuto.

Probably should deal him and/or McFarland at the deadline. Credit to him at 27 figuring it out in triple A as a reliever. That said Phillies BP could use a LH reliever with Alvarado being inconsistent and banks just not good this year. Unfortunate both are RHP. Tbh I’d still love to see McFarlane given a shot. I think Johnson is more of a byproduct of being a AAAA type pitcher. McFarlane never gotten a mlb chance

pretty good chance that he has played his last game in the Phillies organization
