Yep. He actually gets at least 1-2 pitches to drive into right field each at-bat if he chooses, but watching him swing every time, you damn well know he has zero desire to do that. It's the long, loopy, uppercut swing that fails him every time.

When you look at his overall statistics, he is a much different hitter when they have a batting first then when they have a batting second. His time batting second with the Phillies has never been good. So the fact that they’re having him hit second to allow schwarber to hit leadoff is stupid. There’s something about when he’s hitting first he doesn’t have the type of swing for nearly as long like last year he tries to get on base to allow Harper and Schwarber to come up and drive him home. Whereas when he second he tries to do too much.

Offense this road trip wasn’t very good for most of the games. Dont have to score every inning but they had a bunch of chances they blew or just kept teams in games they had no business being in and overusing the bullpen cause of it. They’ll have an inning or two but largely it’s not great. Turner is awful. His numbers batting leadoff and 2nd this year are night and day. Arraez isn’t a cleanup hitter when you need a guy who’s better with more power with risp.

Not great 1st but significantly better than what he’s doing 2nd. Turner also sucks vs. LHP. So teams whether you have him sandwiched in-between schwarber and Harper are bringing in LHP in the playoffs. So might as well go Turner, Arraez, Harper and schwarber

If they refuse to put Turner in leadoff then they should just drop him way down in the lineup. I'm so over this bum. Not only does he suck but he's dragging down the lineup batting 2nd and Schwarber 1st really shouldn't be either but he always seems to end up there because "he sees so many pitches" or whatever narrative they come up with every year. Arraez excels at the top of the lineup. Assuming they'll never drop Turner down while he continues to suck then it should be 1-4

Or if you want to go by OBP you could argue to get Stott up there in 1 or 2 and punt Turner down somewhere in the 6-9 range until he stops sucking balls. Oh but it will kill his confidence! He needs another ovation or two to get going! Enough catering to this guy. He won't change positions but sucks on defense, he won't change out of 1 or 2 in the order but sucks on offense. Enough already.

Its actually pathetic that they are gonna allow 1 player to possibly torpedo their season. If that turns out to be the case, then they deserve whatever postseason agony they get.
