But in the playoffs i don’t want to have to hope if it’s a game 3 or 4 on the road in a big spot. Rather it be Ranger and nola. I don’t love nola on the road but then again don’t know what nola you’ll get in the playoffs round to round. Nola has a 3.12 Era at home and 3.80 on the road. So not a dramatic drop. Ranger is the same. 2.86 and 2.87 at home and on the road.

I think this month plus off was to get him rested. I pointed this out around the time they put him on IL that every year since 2022 he has gotten time on "IL” for being "injured”. In 2022 they gave him three weeks off at the end of June beginning of July. And they also limited his starts in July in general that year. So he basically had a good amount of time to rest. then last year we forget but he missed like the first month and a half of the season. Then he missed another 2.5 weeks in august into September. So he was fresh down the stretch. I think this is gonna be more of an occurrence in his career where you’re gonna have him sometime in the middle of the season when he starts slumping and they give him 3 to 4 weeks off.
August 18, 20242 yr Really nice win last night. First, the pitching of course. Don't want him to have to start in the playoffs but if he can give us quality time for the rest of the regular season and then be there for whatever we need in the playoffs it will be a big boost. Second, the small ball hitting to win a game which we really need more of. Third, continued hitting by Realmuto and Castellanos which we really need to support the big guys. btw - Phils back with best record in the MLB.

They are going to say it’s an injury and continue saying it’s the injury. Add on they can say his side is bothering him so he needs the rest and it counts as an injury. I find it super curious it ranger’s one side before the all star break. Then he looked bad again after then it became his other side and they IL’d him. No offense walker wasn’t remotely hurt for nearly 2 months with a blister/inflammation of a finger on his pitching hand. That doesn’t take you out for 2 months. Frankly most think it was a bs injury to begin with. 2 years ago they used a minor injury for wheeler and extended it out for a month cause they wanted him to get rest. Pretty much reporters were alluding to it being more of minor injury but they really wanted him to get extended rest for the stretch run. Also other teams do this so I’m doubting teams are going to rat each other out.
