Cause you’d have wheeler likely declining sooner rather than later, nola, Sanchez. You’d still have a hole at your 5th starter unless someone in the minors steps into that. Frankly i think they want Ranger as a starter to and be the 1-2 with painter as wheeler and nola begin to decline. Frankly he’s always going to need like a month off. I’d bet as a reliever he’d probably run into the same problem at some point in the season if he's a high usage reliever and being used 3-4 times week.
August 25, 20242 yr I get giving JT the day off after a night game but i much preferred if they played him today after his best game of the year. Then sat him Monday vs. Astros with wheeler on the mound. also thankfully allard didn’t fall apart but Bohm forgetting how many outs there were and could’ve easily gotten a double play is the epitome of what we’ve seen over the last month.

Big risk today though.
