I’d argue for the veteran guys he’s not. Hes not fixing their issues cause they are what they are. However he should be doing a better job than he has with Marsh and stott. I think it’s on the players to ultimately improve but you aren’t firing players. So it’s either field a new team or fire a coach to send the message. Tend to think late August and if they fall short he’s falling on the sword. Reason why he hasn’t stayed places for longer than 3-4 years in his last couple stops

You may be overrating the ability of Marsh and Stott, I think they are just average at best

The reason they dealt for marsh was Long was going to fix him to be an everyday CF. So the Phillies believe he should’ve be that as they likely wouldn’t have dealt O’hoppe if that was the case. So it’s on marsh and long for not being able to actually accomplish that.

that said i think the entire team’s hitting approach is bad. It’s why they lost nlcs and teams pitch them the way they do. So either long isn’t changing what he wants and players are going in with that approach. Or he can’t get through to them to make changes. Either way it’s not good
