Rojas finally gets another hit Marsh with another hit and run scored, he's done pretty well over the last 10 games Castellanos cooling off a bit though he has hit some balls hard but right at people Looking at the schedule, we have a 10 game stretch with 7 against the Mets H/A and 3 away at Milw. That stretch will determine how we end up vs. LA/Milw and whether there is any late drama for the East. If we take care of business over the next 6 games then that stretch won't seem daunting heading into it. I don't have your never ending positivity and optimism but I'm feeling good. Just hoping they get one of the first round byes to rest and the top of the order comes alive for the playoffs.

I just remember you wanted a 5-game winning streak to restore some positivity and now it is here. btw - I'm as concerned as anyone that they may have trouble producing runs in some big games when they are needed in October.

Thats my biggest concern. Like a couple weeks back i said i thought the bullpen would ultimately be fine. I think if Sanchez steps up then the SP I’m comfortable with. The offense is still an issue. They have these explosion games where they hit a bunch of homeruns but they also have these long stretches of just not hitting with RISP unless it’s a homer. For instance against KC they were were 12-27. Then the next 9 games they were 13-77. They won 7 of 9 but it was really cause they got HRs during. At some point you have to be able to put consistency hitting with RISP and not be heavily reliant on HRs to just be there. It’s what happened after game 2 of the nlcs. The one game they won after game 2 they hit multiple HRs. The other games they didn’t. they hit .159 with RISP after game 2. To me that’s their biggest concern

They will get some HRs and win some games with those but there will be a couple of key games where they are going to need to get the key hit with some small ball type play. One of either Sanchez or Suarez need to be the 3rd guy we can count on in the playoffs. Three really good pitchers are necessary. If Suarez can rise again then I think Sanchez will be a really solid 4th guy / long relief guy in October.

It should be getting better and ramped up with each start. It was slightly better in the 4th and 5th. I wanna believe they are holding some back with him until the playoffs or it’s a dead arm like Thomson is stating. But i just kind of think this is what you are getting. He really shouldn’t have a dead arm after 3 starts especially when he’s thrown 68,78 and 82 pitches

Clearly a concern though I'm hoping it is just a matter of how they are choosing to bring him along aiming for the better Ranger that can last thru October. Something to keep an eye on for sure.

September 6, 20241 yr I really don't wanna face the Braves or D-backs in the playoffs. I think if we can avoid those two we get to the big dance. Braves pitching has had our # all year, and the D-backs offense is ridiculous.

Do we want the top seed though? #1 plays the winner of #4/#5 currently either the Diamondbacks or the Padres #2 plays the winner of #3/#6 currently either the Brewers or the Mets (Mets are tied with the Braves, but have the tiebreaker)

Go look at their schedule, it is actually pretty hard the rest of the way outside of a Rockies series. And then you go, compare it to the Mets and the Braves, Mets have a tough last 10 games dbacks: 3 at Houston, 2 vs. Texas, 3 vs. Milwaukee, 3 at Colorado, 4 at Milwaukee, 3 vs. SF and 3 vs. SD (the rangers are playing well right now… really the Rockies are the only easy series) Mets: 3 vs. cincy, 3 at Toronto, 3 at Phillies, 3 vs. nats, 4 vs Phillies, 3 at Atlanta and 3 at brewers. Mets at the end is harder but there’s a chance brewers last 3 games are resting guys if they fall out of the 1-2 seed race. braves: 3 vs. Toronto, 1 vs. cincy, 2 at nats, 4 va. Dodgers, 3 at cincy, 3 at marlins, 3 vs. Mets and 3 vs. royals ( like brewers, royals might clinch the last WC and have nothing to play for at that point)
September 6, 20241 yr I thought it’ll be retroactive to 8/31 but I had a feeling he was going on IL when he didn’t play yesterday. He’s eligible to come back I believe the first game against the Mets.
