October 1, 20241 yr What on earth makes you guys think Wheeler stands a chance against Sale regarding the Cy Young? Sale has more wins, less losses, more strikeouts, and a better ERA. The only categories Wheeler was better were WHIP (barely) and IP/GS

Thats a primetime spot to solidify your candidacy. I’d add sale also started 3 less games which makes his K numbers more impressive. Wheeler got pushed back a couple days but made 32 starts vs. 29. I’m guessing sale would’ve been great in those anyway with how he’s not healthy now chance he has the issue wheeler did around the AS break where he’s not as good and his ERA takes a hit that said the wins don’t mean crap. Plenty of games where wheeler was fantastic and they didn’t win. He went 6 innings and 2 runs or less in 11 consecutive starts. He won 6 of those games. For the season he had 25 of those such games. He won 14 and took the loss or had a no decision in 11 of them. The offense cost him more wins.

Wheeler was robbed of a cy young in 2021 though, I'll say that for sure.

Thats big spot.
October 1, 20241 yr He did all the things he talked about in the A-Rod video above. He choked up and moved back in the box. I wish the Phillies would watch him.
October 1, 20241 yr That clip really makes you wonder about the accuracy of the radar guns these days. Or the guns back then. Guys nowadays often throw 100mph, sometimes up to 103mph or so. And here you have the hardest thrower of all time in the prime of his career and he's clocked at 99. Yeah, something ain't right about that.

Yeah, something ain't right about that. For your consideration... The short story is that the radar guns measured the ball closer to the plate in Ryan's era than they do now (when they basically measure them out of the hand). The ball loses several mph of speed from the time it leaves the hand to the time it arrives at the plate. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/the-measure-of-a-fastball-has-changed-over-the-years/
October 1, 20241 yr Brewers are 1-9 in their last 10 playoff games. i love the fact Rhys did a crying gesture to the Mets players back in March.
October 1, 20241 yr Chourio makes a spectacular catch. followed by an awful play in LF. Followed by a routine fly out lol. followed by Payamps not being able to routinely just touch first base
October 1, 20241 yr brewers choking away this game in the 5th with a dumb managerial decision to remove peralta who had found a groove and got 8 in a row, only at 68 pitches to go with their bullpen.

Dbacks we don’t play well at chase field and since 2022 they are 6-7 at CBP. Unless we got the brewers who seemingly always choke. Outside of like 3 weeks from end of August to middle of September they haven’t played consistently well since they went to London. Since they went to London they are 50-48.

At least it’s not a true day game. Our W-L record in day games is not good. Start times around 4pm we are 10-7. However lost 4 out of the last 5 times we played around 4pm start times.
