Tbh there were a lot of people last year who were clinging onto the fact they were in first place and had the second best record in mlb. The reality and i pointed it out last year, they were a mediocre team for 2/3 of the season. If it wasn’t for their April and May, they’d have been a middle of the pack team. Credit to them for playing outstanding in April and May of 2024. But they’ve been a mediocre baseball team for longer than that 2 month stretch. Since the Alvarado blown save in London they’ve basically been what we’ve seen.

They look eerily similar to what they did under Girardi in 2020 and 2021. I don’t think they are legit title contenders but i do think this team is better than being mediocre. I think Dombrowski is the biggest reason for their roster and issued, but their lackadaisical attitude (like Turner missing the tag yesterday) is girardi type crap and that goes back to the manager. Too often this team looks like they are sleep walking. Someone needs to be canned
