Yep. I would have him bunting even with 2 strikes. If he strikes out, it's better than hitting into a double play. That would require Thomson to use some brain cells though.

The fact is he isn’t a MLB hitter. We’ve known this. It continues to go back to Dombrowski not just admitting his mistake with marsh and just going out and solving the CF issue. Instead keeps trying marsh when he’s a failed experiment. Even if marsh was an everyday OF it’s not in CF. He is a LF

lol of course

Nice series win. Offense is still concerning though.

Thank the lord Romano actually pitched well today.

Love Harper but he’s been brutal for most of this road trip. Was 2-23 with 2 RBI and 8Ks

It’s going to be a concern until they get a legit CF and they also likely need another power bat.

Becoming concerned about harper

I’m guessing we go 2-4 on this road trip

So i guess we are supposed to buy that Romano was tipping his pitches and everything is good now

He legit only has 2 pitches. I really don’t buy it.

They won a series on the road against a very good team, Nola looked good and the bullpen including Romano didn't give up any runs yesterday. Got to get the offense rolling somehow now.

Not sure that’s going to happen consistently. It’s been this way even in 2022. They need to get some guys out and new guys in for it to change. Also a new hitting coach.

Agreed.

I’m guessing if they fall short of the nlcs this year that long is gone. I still think Thomson would be back. I love schwarber but frankly i think someone is gonna give him a 5 year deal. I don’t want to be tied to schwarber after 3 years. Anything after that is risking him declining for two years. Similarly to not wanting Nola to get 7 and just 4-5

It is time to clean house. Stott being the only hitter untouchable. Sanchez stays. Every other mook can be cleaned out for whatever.

Have a true fire sale.... one that can be seen from orbit

I would move them all and start bringing up the minors players we all have been waiting for and baptize them by fire.... but let them bond and grow together as a core.

Clean house on management and coaching. They are as just to blame as the players.

The grand Harper design has failed...... Move on already.

This current team might make it back to the playoffs..... but they cant win it all.... mentally they dont have it....... skill wise either.

Look I tried .......now one of you guys get to 1000 .

At least we can celebrate that.

There’s other guys who are young that I’d keep. I’d keep luzardo unless i get a massive haul. Id probably keep and try to extend Ranger as I’m unlikely to get something good for him and i can likely extend him cheaper with his injuries and performance towards the end of last year. Build my rotation around painter, luzardo, Sanchez and Ranger.

Tbh i think you are stuck with Turner unless you eat a good portion of his contract which i doubt they do. Harper would have to be convinced of dropping his NTC which im not sure he wants to move. Maybe if we are complete rebuild he says he will. But Castellanos, Bohm, Kepler, schwarber, realmuto, nola, wheeler, alavardo, strahm and Kerkering I’m not against it you are blowing it up.

All that said they’re not blowing it up this early this season. This is at the deadline they have to be truthful to what they actually are. Not what they want them to be.

Only 6 man rotation should be painter is back… pushing your luck with Walker who’s eventually going to revert back to what he’s always been

Now I’m confused

So Thomson might be senile

Rojas is such a garbage defender. Such a joke he's on this team.
