another thing about this team - can they go an entire F’kn game without making an error? Jesus Christ

So Ross hasn’t been awful lately. That’s a positive for the bullpen

Cool another Turner error, called a base hit tho

Hernandez got claimed off the scrap heap and is already better than Romano

Not with Trey the error Turner

Luzardo, Sanchez and painter are going to be the reason we actually stay competitive when Harper and Turner really decline

I really hate the Trea Turner signing

Tbh every shortstop in that class has been bad. Swanson has been awful. Bogarts has been basically Turner. Correa was good for 86 games last year but his 2023 and 2025 have actually been worse than Turner. Only positive his contract isn’t as long as turner’s. That SS class wound up being dreadful based off the expectations

Wow, didn't know they are all basically sucking. I was thinking watching Swanson yesterday that at least he only has 4 more years on his contract. Turner has 8. That will go down as a top 5 all time worst contract in Philly sports history.

Tbh i figured Swanson was going to drop off just because it feels like most guys the Braves let go never play to same level. I figured the Phillies were also not likely to sign him. I do think the Phillies would’ve given Correa more thought if he didn’t have the injury concerns that year. Due to that it was unlikely they go that way. Was really down to bogarts or turner. With bogarts current numbers and contract we’d be feeling the same way. Frankly they should’ve just not signed a big name SS that year and waited to spend the money.

I said last year i thought the nationals would be better in 2025 and maybe outside chance at a wild card spot. I do think in 2026 if they make a splash move or two that they are going to be a wild card type team

They really need to call this kid up

So, under DD's watch, the Phillies have 18mil AAV for Walker, Turner 27.2 AAV, and Nola 24.5 AAV. That's almost 70 mil a year, or 25% of the payroll basically being flushed down the toilet. I wonder if Middleton is concerned about this or does he just have his head stuck in the sand. Other than using Middleton's checkbook, what does this guy do well? I'll give him kudos on the Luzardo trade. What else? The bullpen has always been an arm short it seems and left field/ center field continue to be a major blackhole. Sure, let's keep running it back.

According to Amaro the Phillies did not run it back. Amaro never criticizes any moves from Dombrowski. I have a feeling he is looking to join DD in Nashville when expansion comes around. Would not surprise me if he is GM

I’d add their farm system is top heavy but they really haven’t gotten better at having more than like 1-2 MLB prospects ready every couple of years.

I was at the game today. Kemp looked great and so did Ranger. I think they should give Kemp a chance with the Phils.

Saw a whole 7 pitches that inning….

Phillies hitters the last 3 innings:

4th: 9 pitches

5th: 7 pitches

6th: 11 pitches

The lineup:

The fact Rojas can’t bunt is amazing.

Rojas is such a scrub.

Yep. I would have him bunting even with 2 strikes. If he strikes out, it's better than hitting into a double play. That would require Thomson to use some brain cells though.
