April 26, 20251 yr Luzardo, Sanchez and painter are going to be the reason we actually stay competitive when Harper and Turner really decline

Correa was good for 86 games last year but his 2023 and 2025 have actually been worse than Turner. Only positive his contract isn’t as long as turner’s. That SS class wound up being dreadful based off the expectations

I was thinking watching Swanson yesterday that at least he only has 4 more years on his contract. Turner has 8. That will go down as a top 5 all time worst contract in Philly sports history.

I figured the Phillies were also not likely to sign him. I do think the Phillies would’ve given Correa more thought if he didn’t have the injury concerns that year. Due to that it was unlikely they go that way. Was really down to bogarts or turner. With bogarts current numbers and contract we’d be feeling the same way. Frankly they should’ve just not signed a big name SS that year and waited to spend the money.
April 27, 20251 yr I said last year i thought the nationals would be better in 2025 and maybe outside chance at a wild card spot. I do think in 2026 if they make a splash move or two that they are going to be a wild card type team
April 27, 20251 yr So, under DD's watch, the Phillies have 18mil AAV for Walker, Turner 27.2 AAV, and Nola 24.5 AAV. That's almost 70 mil a year, or 25% of the payroll basically being flushed down the toilet. I wonder if Middleton is concerned about this or does he just have his head stuck in the sand. Other than using Middleton's checkbook, what does this guy do well? I'll give him kudos on the Luzardo trade. What else? The bullpen has always been an arm short it seems and left field/ center field continue to be a major blackhole. Sure, let's keep running it back.

Amaro never criticizes any moves from Dombrowski. I have a feeling he is looking to join DD in Nashville when expansion comes around. Would not surprise me if he is GM
