May 4, 20251 yr Turner sucks. Should have had an inning ending DP, instead he can't throw and now the D-bags have added to their lead. How was he paid $300M?
May 4, 20251 yr To be fair, at least he went 0-5 at the plate with a 9th inning leadoff strikeout on an eye-high fastball. Balanced effort.

I’m willing to give him 3-4 more starts but if he looks like he did since the marlins game late June onward through those then i tend to think that’s was he likely is. If that’s the case, i dont what ultimately changed besides his back that would make a drop off like that.Ranger should have started in the pen. They are freaking idiots.

Problem is if you piss off boras on ranger during a contract year then you potentially have issues when you go to sign his other clients down the road. Sad it would even come into play Could’ve rode Walker until the wheels eventually fell off but i tend to think some of these games he was rather fortunate. He had 13 walks in 6 starts. And 25 hits in 28 innings. Eventually that’s a recipe for disaster. Also with how the rotation fell He got Braves when struggling, Nats 2 twice and Rockies. That wasn’t happening with the upcoming schedule The issue with Ranger being in the bullpen is he has to pitch every other day or sometimes even back to back games. Unless they purposefully restrict his usage which if you make it every 2 days he pitches then it puts your pen at a disadvantage where another arm can pitch back to back games or every other day. I think because he had a back issue last year and then he had another one to start the year, they don’t want him pitching every day or potentially every other day. They want him to have him every 5th day and with next point even potentially every 6th dayI think Thomson kind of spilled the beans about 6 man rotation. When painter is ready and called up i think they want to do that. It allows guys to stay fresher as they probably realize their SP needs to be great for them to maximize this roster. If you are going 6 man rotation once painter arrives then they rather have Ranger pitching once a week than Walker.

But at that point Ranger didn’t have the back issue and missing chunks of the season then. Even though turnbull was always destined to get hurt as he was injury prone, i think the turnbull results still linger. They are fine doing it with Walker cause if he gets hurt they realistically went into the offseason and ST thinking he might not even be on the roster (I’d add Abel pitching as well as he has in triple A also allows more depth if Walker goes down and Ranger isn’t good either)

Listening to Dabbundo on the Philly special he’s been one of the worst productive hitters of those qualified. They need to just bring up Otto and let him play some third and LF as a RH hitter
May 6, 20251 yr Does anyone watch the Phillies show on YouTube? I swear, both Salisbury and Amaro keep bringing up that Bohm had 97 RBI's last year and it's only a matter of time before he gets going. For the most part I enjoy the show but the excuse making for Bohm is nauseating. Most of those RBI's were from the first half of last year. They neglect to mention that. Since July of last year, Bohm has been an abysmal offensive player while being an at-best average 3rd baseman.

First 75 games of 2024: 304/356/848 8 HRs and 64 RBILast 65 games: .251/.301/.696 6 HRs and 33 RBIHe was especially bad in September and into this year. He has only 4 walks this year.

May 7, 20251 yr My biggest complaint right now…What has the draft, international scouting, and the farm system produced for the Phillies in the last 20 years? It’s not a good list.I love that they are willing to be a top 5 payroll team. They have bought some really good players and made some good trades for MLB players. (and have made some not-so-great decisions on that front too). But their ability identify, develop, and bring talent to the MLB is really bad.

Maybe the last 10 years you have a point.
