By that it is a newer ownership and they didn’t want to be paying the type of money into the luxury tax so this was a way to get out of a contract a year early.I kind of think they’re trying to accumulate first round picks for another move down the road. Like I could see Boston going after a guy like Anthony Edwards if he gets disgruntled this year playing alongside LaMelo. Now they have this draft assets plus Paul George as an expiring contract after this year to make it work to try to get a deal like that done.
