The fact they managed to get out of the George contract is huge

At this point Im not even ruling out an Embiid trade. Of course the return will be less than a Jaylen Brown, but to pull that off has me believing Gansey can work magic like Howie Roseman.

Sights set really high though, people are dreaming of Embiid+Picks for Duren, who wants out of Detorit.

With Jaylen Brown here, you kind of really need to trade Embiid and his ball stopping ways. Brown is so ball dominant. Maxey will be fine moving back off ball. VJ is better off ball still. It all works, except for Embiid dribbling out the shot clock and turning it over.

First, Colin Cowherd is a complete imbecile and doesn't have any sources. I put less than zero stock in anything he says.

I think, for Boston, this was based on 2 factors. First, they didn't want to pay Tatum and Brown massive extensions, and they chose Tatum. Second, I think there was likely some underlying tension after last year - Brown carried the team to the #2 seed without Tatum, but then Tatum comes back and is immediately the #1 option again. Guessing that ticked Brown off.

Boston gets picks and PG is an expiring contract next year they can try and flip. But they are taking a step back, resetting and going to build around Tatum as the sole alpha.

Interestingly, its been stated numerous times over the last day or so that Brown has never requested a trade.

Boston offered him up for Giannis, and when that fell through it seemed to be Boston who was intent on still ridding itself of Brown.

Im sure the salary is a factor. But the ISSUE with the salary seems to be that it is tied to Jaylen Brown's personality. Again, they were going to be willing to pay Giannis so just calling it a salary thing along doesnt cut it. There was more to it than that.

Im ok with that. Jimmy Butler was a supposed malcontent when we got him here and it turns out those vibes were immaculate.

I dont even expect immaculate vibes with Brown. Im just not gonna complain about a diva superstar. Comes with the territory. He's won a championship. So hes not a James Harden waste of talent. You figure out how to make it work.

Back on saturday you saw the smear campaign about analytics people saying Brown was the 7th best player on Boston's team. Also saw Windhorst say that despite being 6th in MVP voting last year, Boston felt Derrick White had a better season. That stuff is most likely leaking out of Boston as PR for taking what appears to be a discounted price for him.

I feel like the Philadelphia 76ers have a chance to win the IST on in the 250th year of our countries existence. So cool. Team of destiny type stuff.

Perkins is so upset. lol

What do you think is better for convincing LeBron? Having Embiid here? Or trading Embiid for actually available pieces?

I feel like LeBron would want Embiid. But the team would be better off with more role players.

These were some Embiid packages I saw.

Dallas- Gafford, Klay, Washington

Houston- Jabari, Adams, Finney-Smith

Pelicans- Zion, Jones

Kings- Sabonis, Monk

The counter argument is and I know, bare with me for a minute. IF Joel can manage to be healthy from round 2 onward, then we have a legit shot at winning a Championship. We will be good enough to win round 1 without him. That being said, their ceiling should still be ECF without Joel on the team/healthy.

"The NBA will test the "one-free throw rule" in summer league meaning one free will be shot worth the same amount of points compared to 2 or 3 free throws being shot depending on where the foul occurred.  Weird.

And why the hell would the trade Embiid for that crap? They have a legit chance adding Brown and not having to play guys for elevnty billion minutes next year.

If they are going after LeBron, it's so he can play with Maxey, VJ, Embiid and Brown, not Sabonis and Monk or Daniel Gafford, a washed up Klay and PJ Washington

hate that. so if you get fouled while shooting a three, you shoot 1 free throw worth 3 points? yikes.

might speed up summer league games though….if that’s the intent.

Apparently.  But the rule doesn't apply for the end of the game.  I guess we will see the details in Summer league shortly.  Way to speed up the game without giving up ads it sounds like.

Would be awesome if he chose the Sixers. I just kind of think he’s wanted to kind of play with Steph Curry over past couple years and that’s where he winds up.

I dont know why they would have to "Test" that when they already do it that way in the G League.

I have read recent reports it’s down to Cleveland or Golden State.

We all know thats the way it goes, but we let ourselves believe anyway.

If we dont get LeBron though, Im 100% saying trade embiid for any role players you can get.

Embiid with Brown is not a fit at all.

Saw the report. It was actually a guys opinion and he responded to them quoting him wrong. I think it’s that anyway tho

Now you got him, Brown and VJ that you can alternate on Brunson.

Im also still pulling for a Jevon Carter signing too. That guy is a dog on defense as well.
