This New England Goober does a good hyping up this kid so I'm sold.

I'll be more surprised if they don't come out of tomorrow with a WR of note than if they don't come out with a LB. I really expected them to take WR relatively early. All the buzz coming out of the offseason was they feel like they need more juice from WR3. And given they did very little there in free agency, you figure they'd have added a guy in the draft. I expect a WR to be one of the 4th rounders tomorrow. No idea what's going on with Troy Franklin.

Howie said a big part of the trade backs was accumulating picks in round 4. He thought that was a strong area of the draft.

120

123

132

152

171

172

210

2 days over, and the Eagles, after 3 great picks, have 1 fewer pick than when the draft started.  3 picks round 4, 3 picks round 5, 1 pick round 7.

also, there could be a backup for Smith and/or Brown.

Troy Franklin would be a homerun pick. Worth trading up for.

Seems like the draft still has some good prospects at RB, WR, iOL, TE, LB, CB, S. I assume we’re done at S/CB, although maybe we can roster one more safety depending on the plan with DeJean.

Some players of interest…

QB - None. Don’t need any of these scrubs.

RB - Allen, Estime, Shipley, Davis, Wright, Irving, Tracy Jr, Guerrendo, Ali

IOL - Mahoganey, Bortolini, MacCormick

OT - Rouse, Greenfield, Crum

TE - T. Johnson, Sanders, Wiley, Bell, Stover, McLachlin, All

WR - Baker, Franklin, Washington, Rice, Walker, Cowing, J. Wilson, J. Jackson, A. Smith

DE - Meh

DT - L. Taylor, Dorlus

LB - Gray, Magee

S - Mustapha, Hicks, Taylor-Demerson

Watched a podcast with Mosher and Dicecco where they see a 2024 season having CJGJ, DeJean and Sydney Brown doing work at safety and nickel in some iteration.  Sees Sydney Brown closer to the LOS resembling the "box safety” type of role, with the other two perhaps interchangeable somewhat in the other two spots.  Dicecco doesn’t think DeJean can play boundary CB in the NFL, either.

One thing they didn’t mention was a possible impact DeJean could have with the lower speed kickoff return format this season.  It would be nice to see both Maddox and Blankenship upgraded on in the secondary

Eagles should take a RB with one of their many 4ths.

So much talent left at WR, TE, and RB. I would expect 2 or even all 3 of those positions to be addressed in the 4th and 5th.

The Eagles have room for 2 RBs, right?  This year there's just Barkley and Gainwell, and last year there were 4, but Penny rarely played.

Braelon Allen + one, standard size but fast.  The roster could handle that.

It could be argued that Linebackers could do big back stuff,  I've argued that before and will argue it again, I think,  but unless you know that Linebackers actually would be doing various run block catch throw things,  you might want to have actual running backs for running back jobs.

Braelon Allen has pretty rare size,  similar sizewise to Barkley,  when there are few like that.

Guerendo has top ras,  also big, 220, with a 4.33 40.

Guerendo and Barkley - ras so similar

I like the idea of Covey at WR,  would be good, I like Covey, but at this point I would have guessed that WR3 was Parris Campbell.
