Ty Robinson was a nice snag, great motor, non stop pursuit. I like that he gets his hands in the air. Very disruptive dude

My question with him is about how far his game can translate to the pro level

I’m fine with Calacattara as the lead TE. Have three with differing skill sets and utilize the whole position group each game. Usually ST too.

My memory wasn’t of Tony G being a quality blocker at all. So not sure about where anybody dug up quotes about his blocking prowess? Maybe something his agent or family wrote.

Haven’t heard many thoughts about exercising Jordan Davis for the year option. Didn’t hear anybody speak up saying they believed we would. I’ve been discussing him a decent amount. Because his production doesn’t warrant anywhere near 13 mil. But I believe I was tossing around paying him like 11 mil…having two mil extra just based on his value towards Carter.

Pretty crazy in plenty of ways to even consider spending 13 mil all guaranteed type resources on Davis. Guy doesn’t even play a decent amount of snaps each game.

But do know DLine coach been very vocal about pumping up Davis. Saying how he hasn’t even hit any ceiling at all. That he expects huge leaps forward in his career/

Jordan Davis…really his agent….really totally understand our situation and his leverage. He’s going to get us on any real extension coming. Not as bad as Cam. I can’t believe Rosie just forked over top dollar right away to him.

FL noticed didn’t select a single top 30 boot this season. Rosie sucked you in.

At the pro level….coaches need to design everything around each individuals attributes.

Or get players that fit what you do. We are a running team having a good inline TE that can block and still be viable pass threat is big part of this team.

Like Howie almost always does???? This isn’t something new with Howie and contracts

Most not have watch a lot of Tony G or only remember his early years in KC dude was definitely a quality blocker especially in his ATL days

Likely not a huge deal we likely will have an extension done at some point with him lowering the cap hit before the 2026 season comes anyway

Think you mentioned FB Van Sumerin package as a new wrinkle and replacement formation to run much of the same concepts.

Ty Robinson played some FB at Nebraska, and the Australian rugby player has FB potential as well.

What makes you doubt that it will?

Yes, but he does it one or two years early so that when the other players get their contacts one or two years later, the top dollar he gave out is no longer the top dollar. Plus the player gets his cash earlier, which has value.

Snap count is not a proxy for impact. Davis is the lynchpin in taking carries by the opposing running backs out of their OC’s game plan. That makes their Offense one dimensional and easier to defend.

What's a top 30 boot? And how did he suck you in?

The " Vanilla Gorilla " is his nickname... Ham is in love now...nicknames are his thing

I keep bringing up going more WR spread and make Ds deal with that

Not the strength of the QB...or the RB. I think smart ball keeps playing to their strengths...plus it helps the D as we grind out drives.

Ertz and Goedert totally different flavors of TE. Frankly Goedert isn’t ever going to sniff being anywhere near a career comparable to Ertz. I don’t see things quite like you though. Goedert being that YAC Creator is what makes him a better fit for our current squad. That’s the other threat option to throw at opponents that AJ and Smitty are going downfield.

Absolutely on check downs the ability to run with the ball...it's huge for Goedert in this offense. Why I mentioned that Calcaterra was decent in that department where Ertz struggles to break any tackles.

Who is the blocker without Goedert?

You would assume that's the plan

But $26 mil per on a 4 year deal to a guy that played less than half the snaps, missing a good amount of the early down snaps where it was vs the run...

That's a good move by New England?

Because Milton is your boy...no agenda there?

Milton is the next Hargrave....New England is going to regret that deal in 2 years just like your hometown 49ers.

Eat that clock and force the opposing Defense to get exhausted. Then have our Defense force a three and out by neutralizing their RB running game, and force their Defense back on the field with short rest.
