We owe him that now. It’s more than he’s worth….plus puts us in bad leverage situation needing to extend to lower that cap hit. Fairly important big fork in that road with him. He’s owning us in these negotiations is my takeaway from it.His contract will be reworked before we get there, please, Howie know what he is doing

Problem lies in that everybody knows if Rosie isn’t extending you early…he’s not looking to pay you. Creates situations like Reddick and so on…:quality signing….but in the end we had to just suck up all that loot on a guy not even playing here.WOW Howie isn't PERFECT, imagine that!!!!! Who in your view is better?

We have had an extended discussion over in the Blog about what constitutes a "starter” in the NFL generally and for the Eagles specifically. We all agreed that in 2024 there was really only one DT starter … Jalen Carter. Working in conjunction with Carter were three role players … Davis, Williams and Ojomo.2025 appears to be headed for the same scenario, with Davis, Ojomo, and Robinson all coming in at around 40% of the snaps. I expect there to be more Carter, Davis, Robinson, Edge fronts this season than there were Carter, Davis, Williams, Edge fronts on running downs.Did you consider the Carter effect here? Davis has been playing next to the top guy that makes any Dline around him’s job as easy as it will ever be. So he’s actually been propped up…still hasn’t impressed. Not like Davis has been the focus and that’s why he’s reasonably being held back from producing more.

May 3, 20251 yr Author By ALL accounts Huff was an up and comer. Howie took his chance and Fangio couldn't make him work in THIS defense. Not going to win every one of these additions

Like the Pats annual 6 free games a year, not hard to win your division. You could say we had an easy path too for awhile in THIS division. Dallas not on top of their game, the Wuss are finally showing signs of being good, the Gnats have been terrible for awhile. The Pats basically started every year at 6-0

I’m in favor of pushing the chips to go all in at the right times. Take your best shot when you can. Bring home a parade…deal with having cap issues two seasons later. I buy into taking that trade off in most situations.
May 3, 20251 yr Author Last year. Rams were good(Finally). Seattle not really great(still won more games) AZ not good(still won more games),so really the Rams are their only competition(recently) They were dead last in their division, because they went ALL in for a SB and didn't make it, last year they paid for that and I suspect now that division will be alot tougher for them to win. So to say the NFL goes through SF is fallacy

RB is not seen across the NFL as a high leverage position. I personally don’t agree with that perspective, but that is what GMs and agents have bought into.Further, RB is a high wear and tear position, so there is much higher risk that the agreed to dollars will go to an injured (or worn out) player who doesn’t see the field. That risk of no ROI is factored into the negotiations and agreed to salary. How do the numbers look about how well teams perform based on just whether a player is on the field or not? It’s a big factor. Not everything…but can’t reason having to pay big money when you don’t rely on that player very much anyway. Like you point towards NFL value at RB…I equate and compare that league wide valuation towards run defenders versus pass defenders. Money all overwhelmingly flies towards passing.

Paying Cam and Davis so much really going to limit our future options.

I wish him well, but we also knew he was a short term band aid. Someone needs to become the CLEAR starting RG now

That is the metric of how effective the Eagles run defense was at taking the opposing RBs out of the game.Wasn’t just D related. Us having leads plays a major factor forcing opponents to pass. I even took things much further. We’re so incredible at killing games and icing leads…we put even more pressure that way on.

Actually think he’s even a matchup issue for Lane. So yes…my pony is very much surrounding how the giants just drafted a sick pass rusher. Been much better they reached for Sanders at QB instead.

Imposing their will on the opponent is at the heart of the Eagles Offensive game planI disagree. Our Oline is built to punish. No Dline can get away from that fact. Even add in how spreading out more actually forces more smaller coverage DBs on the field….instead of a LB. Really punish DBs with any pulling Oline.
