Saquan….or downfield. The more you spread things out….the less any disguise can even be attempted. Numbers game….just pushing those numbers to be even more well defined by clearing out the box even more. The problem with clearing out the box is that you don’t punish (and wear down) the Defense as much. Imposing their will on the opponent is at the heart of the Eagles Offensive game plan
May 2, 20251 yr Author The RB from FL could be a total steal(Montrell Johnson) I fully expect him and Ship to be the 2/3 next year and we can let Dillon go

At the time of the announcement of the extension, the dollars appear to be somewhat high. However, when the one to two years elapses, the numbers that seemed so high are no longer as high due to new contacts that have been signed by other teams with players at that position. Further, the AAV of the extension only kicks in after the current contract expires. And in addition, the player gets their bonus cash up front. It is a win-win-win all around.Usually what you point towards would apply. But not at those position. Top guy just got his money. C money is jumping forward these next years like every other position,

Thank you!I cut my teeth in the Eagles Blog when @goeagles99 originally created it on the old EMB on PE.com. Lots of listening to and learning from people who knew and know much more than me. There is a hell of a lot of camaraderie in the Blog. A reasonable amount of difference of opinion as well.

For instance, the Off that the Cowboys drafted at Pick 22 was not on my personal Board in any of the 7 Rounds. He is a hell of a blocker "in a phone booth” but ask him to block in space or get to the second level or pull and he is out of his league. The Eagles consistently want their O-linemen to be nimble ad proficient when blocking in space, blocking at the second level and pulling. Stoutland understands the value of a head start when two players collide. On a separate but related subject, one of Davis’ great strengths is his ability to recognize and blow up screen plays. He is so massively strong that he constantly gets double team blocking, and when that imposition of opposing force doesn’t happen, he instantly smells a rat and acts accordingly … to the detriment of the players in the screen.

One of the best Wideouts ever at that.

So we paid our pro bowl C and his cap hits are peanuts over the next 3 years while the cap will continue to growCan talk about pro bowl this and that. That’s fair argument even. Exactly his leverage that really stuck it to us to pay that much. I haven’t seen him at any elite levels though. Don’t think I’m dogging him even from my perspective. Just calling him above average and a good starting player.

That’s the point I’m highlighting…that you are missing here. We owe him that now. It’s more than he’s worth….plus puts us in bad leverage situation needing to extend to lower that cap hit. Fairly important big fork in that road with him. He’s owning us in these negotiations is my takeaway from it.

He is obviously going to have a much larger impact against the run then a pass rusherHe got injured and wasn’t in high enough conditioning rookie season. So wasn’t even turned to those playoffs. Been raising his game each season though. But these figures would be so clearly based more on future potential than actual proven production so far.

He is obviously going to have a much larger impact against the run then a pass rusherI mean across the board in the NFL pass D gets paid so much more than run d. DE, LB and S that are great run defenders but not pass down players aren’t ever making the big bucks.

He signs those "too high" contracts for extended years and they get surpassed while our guys are still under contract due to the cap salary increases. Of course the fans pay for that along with increased ad prices. $13.00 for a beer is a bit much, but as long as we suck them down, they won't stopYeah you obviously aren’t speaking about the Bradberry and Huff contracts. It works for and against you. Problem lies in that everybody knows if Rosie isn’t extending you early…he’s not looking to pay you. Creates situations like Reddick and so on…:quality signing….but in the end we had to just suck up all that loot on a guy not even playing here.
May 3, 20251 yr But you still have to pick and choose. Sign early good players. Great! Obvious. But which players don’t you keep and when? Where do you draw the lines and what lace value? Cam is an above average young player looking to only improve. So obviously would like to retain. But not at any cost. I’d say he actually would be a fairly easy player to replace with minimal dropoff.

These results I see as Rosie losing on all fronts pretty much:
