But it's not for the " philosophy " person...who just likes cliches and general ideas.I use Spotrac, but overthecap is much better

I prefer to see all this because it means when they select a player, they truly feel its their best choice...and not for any bias toward position, school, visit or anything else. You gotta stay flexible...each draft is it's own...each pick is it's own. Make the best decision on the flyI'm convinced it was smoke and mirrors, may have caused other teams to select TE's too early because "philly should take one here" . Even all the linemen we had in. Causes the guys we want to drop. Just awesome. Weak draft, no need to go hog wild. Only 10-12 game changers/guys that will make a difference I saw this time around. Good move for Howie to trade out of 3. I saw alot of NON round 1 players in 2,3 but the Eagles didn't see anything worthwhile (even though I thought there were good players in 3). Trading back and getting more picks I figured we would do in round 1,but they had Campbell as one of their few with round 1 grades, so no surprise Howie grabbed him at 32. Nice draft for depth and you never know, someone could emerge from that late pack. I even liked the UDFA's(but I always do because we are great at that). That RB from FL is going to be excellent if he latches onto the pro game. The Raiders got my boy Donte Thornton. They are starting to build a team out there

He gives us great details on everything. Without this site it would definitely be very difficult to understand a lot about how the league works.I understand where you’re coming from but there is over $70 million of injury insurance coverage for Hurts for example. What was the injury insurance on Bradberry? Or Nakobe DeanIt would be nice to know not only the number but also to see how those numbers compared to what the numbers are for other teams.

Take a look at the chart below and you’ll see that Jurgens is not a $30 million total. He has a void year with $28 million of money in it that needs to be Spread in the actual years of the contract.Williams has no void years
May 3, 20251 yr 3 hours ago, joemas6 said:So if you truly believe the first part...Compare these contracts...we will look at the other 8... ( not including Cam and your boy Humphrey)Cam.... $30 mil from 2025- 2028. And $45 mil when you add the $15 mil for 2029 ( his age 30 season)Drew Dalnag = $42.64 mil... 3 yearsFrank Ragnow = $30.4mil ... 2 yearsLloyd Cushenberry = 33.3 mil ... 3 yearsEric McCoy = 43.7 mil ... 3 yearsTyler Biadasz = 25.6 mil ... 3 yearsRyan Kelly = 17.7 mil ... 2 yearsAaron Brewer = 16.2 mil ... 2 yearsRobert Hainsey = 20 mil ... 3 yearsCompare Cam being locked in for 5 years .. to these guys. While we also know the prices are going up. We also know that it's not an easy position to fill. Because we should have basic football knowledge to know that chemistry matters on the OL matters between C and QB. Why upset the apple cart and risk everything when you can lock in ( on a contending team that you constantly preach about overspending) at bargain price?Makes zero sense on your part. Unless you just don't understand the numbers... or just have an agenda vs Cam... or just need to die on a hill and not show flexibility to change your opinion as you get more information. But explain why you would have signed Cam to this deal now?Again, I don’t disagree with your principle. I too support the Jurgens Extension. But again you are playing fast and loose with the numbers. The extension for Jurgens was four years $68 million. So when you compare to any of those other contracts you have to compare the $68 million for 4 years to what you have for you other example players.

Both APR and Huff are designated pass rushers first and foremost. Trading Huff still leaves Howie and Fangio with "one of those”
May 4, 20251 yr 2 minutes ago, joemas6 said:Are you talking about how the cap is affected? Otherwise why is it important?Absolutely how the Cap is affected. Any injury insurance policy payment is not only cash in Laurie’s pocket, but even more importantly a bump up of the available Cap by the amount of the payment.

You can't look at those numbers in comparison...because Milton only has 4 years....if you go further you assume too much....Assumption 1. Williams won't play after 4 years or play for free.Assumption 2. Cam won't redo a contract, either restructure or extension. You gotta look at the 4 years. I know a lot of you always look at the deal and think it's that simple...I don't because I know most deals aren't meant to be finished. If it's a player who under performs...they release before its done. If a guy that outperforms, they extend and redo early. In both cases it lowers the hits at the end of the deal. In Cam's case... they actually lowered his cap hit this year by 2 million or so to start. That's part of the extension that makes it even better than just his low cap hits for his position.

May 4, 20251 yr Just read...the Eagles got zero cap space from insurance/ injuries. Like I said...I don't think the site is privy to that inside information....until it becomes official. Once it is, he just makes the adjustment in showing the cap space.
May 4, 20251 yr Packers had a $23 million player injured...got around a million in cap space back. So my guess is that it's not necessarily significant enough to worry about.

May 4, 20251 yr 2 minutes ago, joemas6 said:He was a 23 million player.Doesn’t matter how much a player’s salary is if the team doesn’t purchase a policy covering that specific player. Some teams believe in insurance and others do not. Howie is a big time believer according to past stories."Howie Roseman, the general manager of the Philadelphia Eagles, is known for his strategy of insuring players' contracts, particularly those of high-value players like Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown. This practice, often discussed in NFL circles, is aimed at providing financial protection for the team in case of unforeseen injuries or other circumstances that could impact a player's performance or availability. Here's a more detailed look at Roseman's approach:Contract Insurance:The Eagles have been observed to purchase insurance policies on a range of players, including those with substantial guaranteed contracts and even some on rookie deals. Focus on Star Players:Star players like Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown have had their contracts insured, with the Eagles insuring a portion of the guaranteed money. Risk Mitigation:Roseman's strategy appears to be driven by a desire to mitigate financial risk in case of injuries or other issues that could impact a player's performance or ability to play. Beyond Star Players:The Eagles have also insured players on rookie contracts, indicating a broader approach to risk management. Eagles' Unique Approach:The Eagles' approach to insuring contracts is considered unique within the NFL, with many teams setting a threshold for guaranteed contract value before insuring. NFL Management Council Concerns:The NFL Management Council has been discussing potential changes to the salary cap rules, and the insurance strategy may be a factor in those discussions, according to an article on On Pattison.com. ”https://onpattison.com/news/2024/sep/18/philadelphia-eagles-news-howie-roseman-insurance-jalen-hurts-aj-brown/#:~:text=Roseman%20declined%20to%20speak%20to,just%20beginning%20to%20understand%20it.
