Not going to win every one of these additionsNobody wins all…true. But really the huge money baggage we carried was all Rosie bad decisions. Give him credit for Saquan. Credit for working out getting Ceedy back. But most others weren’t his doing. The successful ones that worked.

You could say we had an easy path too for awhile in THIS division. Dallas not on top of their game, the Wuss are finally showing signs of being good, the Gnats have been terrible for awhile. The Pats basically started every year at 6-0Rams have been solid and consistent. Seachickens constantly threatening.

May 3, 20251 yr 27 minutes ago, GreenbleedinNC said:Last year. Rams were good(Finally). Seattle not really great(still won more games) AZ not good(still won more games),so really the Rams are their only competition(recently) They were dead last in their division, because they went ALL in for a SB and didn't make it, last year they paid for that and I suspect now that division will be alot tougher for them to win. So to say the NFL goes through SF is fallacyThink you made a terribly weak case and argument here. Was a solid division the whole time. Rams with McVay and Donald have been tough the whole time. Seattle was never any cupcake. Then add in the actual fact the Niners were in almost every NFC Championship game for years. Sorry…I can’t see any other way to see things than Niners perennial NFC contenders before last season.

Players and coaches will be poached and you start againActually…he didn’t have to do that…puts us in a much better position to extend this championship window. We didn’t mortgage the future just to go ‘all in’ last season. We actually relied on what will be our future.

I wish him well, but we also knew he was a short term band aid. Someone needs to become the CLEAR starting RG nowBecton had issues. But when that monster did win…it was big and punishing.
May 3, 20251 yr 26 minutes ago, GreenbleedinNC said:LOL Howie re-signs them, gives them up front CASH/bonus and what you view as "overpaying" is a bargain 1-2- 3 years from now as the cap limits keep risingSure that’s the ideal upside. But doesn’t work all like that most of the time. Players want to get a raise before those contracts really play out. So that cheap early signing…doesn’t pay off most of the time ideally. Then you get just the bad early contracts…that only hurt. The reason this approach really works so great is because of Lurie. He isn’t cheap and gets all that upfront money to be used to make this all happen.

May 3, 20251 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:I disagree. Our Oline is built to punish. No Dline can get away from that fact. Even add in how spreading out more actually forces more smaller coverage DBs on the field….instead of a LB. Really punish DBs with any pulling Oline. You don't spread out the formation to run, statistics clearly tell us that spread formations are predominantly for passing plays. In pass protection, the DL fires out and the OL holds ground. In running plays the OL fires out with its first step rather than drop stepping backwards.
May 3, 20251 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:Many factors at play here though. Fangio scheme and playcall against the run I’m calling a huge factor. It is indeed a huge factor ... a factor that Fangio is able to invoke because he has Davis occupying two blockers and collapsing the pocket and when they are called, blowing up screen passes.
May 3, 20251 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:Wasn’t just D related. Us having leads plays a major factor forcing opponents to pass. I even took things much further. We’re so incredible at killing games and icing leads…we put even more pressure that way on.Why did we have leads?
May 3, 20251 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:See being you can wrap your head around the numbers fairly well leads me exactly into my whole thinking here. Paying Cam and Davis so much really going to limit our future options. Not having them on the team and Howie having to find their replacement(s) would really limit our future options as well.Life is all about tradeoffs.

May 3, 20251 yr 3 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:Did you consider the Carter effect here? Davis has been playing next to the top guy that makes any Dline around him’s job as easy as it will ever be. So he’s actually been propped up…still hasn’t impressed. Not like Davis has been the focus and that’s why he’s reasonably being held back from producing more. You may be right.
May 3, 20251 yr 2 hours ago, cunninghamtheman said:How do the numbers look about how well teams perform based on just whether a player is on the field or not? It’s a big factor. Not everything…but can’t reason having to pay big money when you don’t rely on that player very much anyway. Like you point towards NFL value at RB…I equate and compare that league wide valuation towards run defenders versus pass defenders. Money all overwhelmingly flies towards passing.Money is an interesting measurement. One of the places that money is acutely felt is in the point spreads put forward by Las Vegas Oddsmakers when compared to other point spread analysts/prognosticators. The odds maker don't operate in a vacuum. They adjust the line in order to even out the money being bet. The money being bet has no impact on the play of the teams/players on the field.

You were convinced he couldn’t throw over the middle …when he was stuck in Siri’s O and crappy slot receiving options the whole time. Then Moore moves AJ and Smitty and passing over the middle isn’t any problems anymore. You're worried about Abdul overpowering Lane. If he gets through Hurts has to go left to pass./throw the ball away or get sacked. What's not to understand?

I just don’t think I would have made that decision concerning Cam. Two sides to why. First….because I believe we could find a replacement C. Day two pick one of our highest percentage ‘hit rate positions.’ Then the part about how worth that top dollar pay is he? I don’t put him all the way up there. Up to me? I’d wish to keep him….but above average pay only. Him and Jordan Davis are going to get us and make things much more difficult affording 53 players.Do yourself a favor...and this is a good piece of advice. The draft is over, no need to watch your hours of film now.So here is a great 3 minutes of your time Enter in your browser... overthecap.comClick positions on the top rightClick " center"Then you get your list of centers. You will see on their list Jurgens is #2. However, this is where the next 90 seconds comes in as a great investment of your time.Click on the top 7 or 8 centers names...just look at the contracts, if on your phone it's even easier as you just see the cap hits. Then you will understand why the extension for Jurgens was a no-brainer.Simple math... they signed a guy entering year 4, already pro bowl and fits 100% into the culture as part of the core....for dirt cheap cap hits. He is younger and way cheaper than all those other guys. And locked in until 2029. Where by the time 2027 season starts, the #s for C are going to go way up. Making his deal even less expensive. On top of that, they can easily redo the deal after 2027 or 2028. Lowering the cap hits even more.
