It has added numerous other things some being corporate greed and political forums. It's morphed alot since the Heidi bowlHe is only on the field 50% of the time. How do you account for that? The NFL’s product is not entertainment. Its industry is entertainment, but not its product. It actually hasn’t morphed at all since the Heidi Incident (it was a regular season game rather than a bowl game). If you had said it has morphed since the first Eagles Championship Games in ‘48 and ‘49 I’d have agreed with you, but by ‘68 when the Heidi game took place the morphing had completed. The caterpillar had transformed into a butterfly. So, my question still stands .,, what is the NFL’s product?

Don't have to of course, but it's a nice gesture to put a stamp on that driveI don't really think that was an issue with Barkley. And as a fan, I wouldn't look for drama that isn't there. The thing I liked from day 1 of last year...nothing mattered except winning. You worry about Barkley getting a TD...Ham wanted Barkley to get the rushing record . All meaningless... as proven by the team last year. Focus was winning and nothing else. As it should be

What he was saying was generic that the contract terms of the Hertz contract would be excellent for a to any top 10 quarterback and an absolute steel for a top five quarterback. He wasn’t making any observation about whether Hertz was in any of those categoriesAhhhh... you are starting to understand the agenda now. " All hail Hurts" We can talk about balance sheet and your favorite flavor of ice cream....the spin will always be " all hail Hurts" " Howie is lucky " and " win inspite of the coach"Me = " hey, your car is red" Ham = " how can you not understand how great Hurts is"GB= " I used to play in a band'Ham = " how can you not see Hurts is perfect " That's pretty much it.

In the equally heated and polarized discussions of Hurts in the Blog this past season, going into the Playoffs the Hurts skeptics had him ranked somewhere around # 10, one had him as low as #15. After the NFCCG and the SB, the skeptics were very quiet. In almost everyone’s eyes Hurts had passed Daniels, Stafford, Herbert, Nix, Prescott, etc. and really only trailed Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, and Burrow.

I don't have your posts influenced by what people outside the conversation say. The GM is excellent, very easy to argue the best in the league. The coach just wins, worked his way up paying his dues over the years, still young and the players and everyone else in the organization seem to like and respect him. The QB wins doing it his way, and absolutely takes advantage of the best supporting 10 in the league. None of the 3 are perfect.

The nature of the work he and all GMs do is fraught with uncertainty. It is a lot like batting in baseball. In that particular job batting .300 is considered outstanding and batting .400 is legendary. That means failure happens more than six times out of ten. Howie is expected to be perfect by many fans, but we all know that fans is short for fanatics, and the definition of fanatic references insanity. We are all a little bit insane. In fairness to Ham’s assessment of Siriani, what I have read in the assessments of Hurts here is that he succeeds largely because of the supporting cast around him, which is essentially Ham’s argument against Siriani. I look at Siriani’s winning percentage and I see #4 all time. That isn’t perfection, but it is about as close as any coach in the NFL has gotten. I look at Hurts’ winning record and very few QBs come even close. But instead of getting caught up in any of that, I’m sitting back and enjoying the ride.I had the pleasure of going to the 1960 Championship Game with my Dad. But between 1960 and the year Lurie bought the team there were some pathetic times. I’m very very thankful for what we have now and also know it can fall apart in an instant … and that all our judgments are subjective.I really like and respect Hurts, but I don’t worship him. I really admire what Howie does, but I don’t worship him. I look at what Siriani has accomplished with deep respect, but I don’t worship him. Torturing this metaphor, I do worship the Eagles … and bleed green blood.
