How is the QB that limits interceptions more than almost every single QB ever played in the postseason labeled as flawed interception thrower can’t be trusted to not throw picks? I mean he’s not just decent at avoiding interceptions in the postseason. The guy has been all time elite with this.Which only goes to show how lost Moore was in the pre-Bye games.

The most challenging coach to acquire. Going to be defining of our success and ceiling each season. Two Superbowls in 3 years... would you consider Steichen or Moore a top O mind? I don't.... but look at the success. You aren't winning football because you are fooling people. You win because of talent, execution and focus. We have the most difficult piece of the puzzle I place....the guy that keeps it all together. What is missing in SF. Look at how things end for them every year. He can't make up for those head coaching deficiencies by pulling out any genius Xs and Os. Don't work that way.A BS slippery field away from winning 2 SBs with guys like Steichen and Moore. Eventually I believe even the hardest of stubborn heads will realize....Brian Johnson is the outlier.

Brees, Brady, Marino…what QB would it take that you choose to not let our Oline attack and maul guys? Why do you ask what they are getting paid.... go look at the numbers. Cam is 19th at the C position. It's so much easier in a world where you can just look up facts and not need to hypothesize.
May 19, 20251 yr Btw....at LB. I absolutely think Trotter starts. The whole narrative was he was going to split time with Burks, but Burks played so well that Fangio decided to just keep it rolling. An entire offseason to get in shape and into the playbook. Trotter comes in way more ready than he was last year. When Campbell is ready, that's when a decision is made. This is all barring injury.

Seems the BU QB's with less experience were capable of calling blocking assignments? If the BU QB's with less experience can do it, you think Hurts just NOW learned this? makes no sense whatsoeverPretty consistently credited Moore for teaching these things. Never claimed he only exclusively taught Hurts. See that’s been my point all along…taught the whole O. It always should have been WR and QB reading and adjusting accordingly…these elements running an O I don’t even consider pro O level. Advanced High School football at the school that all the good players somehow end up residing inside that district after 9 grades going to school elsewhere. At my high school wrestling was our thing. State title chasing every year…kids moved in with wrestlers residing in the district from across the state. Recruited and kids seeking the best coach. But the football version high school WR and QB adjusted the route based on the coverage. Big picture playcall…but specific DB outside leverage or inside. Much easier to win if you adjust taking what the D gives you. Get that O humming it brings up that phrase Great O beats great D. AJ not being handcuffed to fixed route really makes him unstoppable. Just no DB can do better than the WR taking what’s given while knowing what he’s going to do instead of reacting. That’s a big strong target guaranteed to gain a yard of separation off his cut(pretty much any version).
May 19, 20251 yr Or AJ running just a specific fixed play route. Add in the D knowing the play presnap. Heck AJ still kicked butt in that most ideal D situation. Pro O where he runs according to what’s given? Can you see the huge advantage difference? If the D has to consider multiple plays being run with that personnel and formation also. So very simple and basic. Probably exactly why everybody executed their O that way.
May 19, 20251 yr Just asking for the super basic elements in a scheme. Don’t exactly telegraph the playcall. Easy…just make sure you have several plays out of each formation. Basic. Have the receiving targets adjust to take what the D gives them. Nothing crazy..like completely different routes. Just inside/ourside/over/under. QB has to be on the same page is the key. Whole O reading and expecting the same route and positioning. Use Playaction. Elite rushing team….c’mon man…most effective run O wasn’t just crushing opponents with Playaction? Basic. Get the play in with enough time for everybody to look over the D. Simple….rushed to snap straight from the huddle never aids best awareness surrounding the D. Motion to create space for receivers as well as best way to get a ‘tell’ on the D by how they react. Not calling this basic…but every pro team uses it now over 50 percent of passing plays. Every team…not a single other coach doesn’t see the advantage of motion. Top O minds actually highest in using Motion. But Siri wasn’t even barely least using Motion. There were 31 teams …then Grand Canyon sized gap down to Siri barely using it. Audibles by the QB. Just give the guy something more than ,because the D already knew our play every time, change the long developing routes to screen pass. I mean didn’t you notice how every D was all over exactly everything we were doing? No way that’s not a disadvantage. Separation windows aren’t going to be near as large…if the DB isn’t flat out jumping the route. AJ and Smitty still overcame kicking some butt because they are so incredible. But it’s just making everything more difficult for no real reason giving the D a big advantage. You think with pro NFL defenders knowing the playcall interceptions were more frequent? I mean duh. You really expecting any WR no matter how elite to not have DBs jumping on his route? QB you blame for more interceptions under these circumstances? When the D correctly reads any playcall presnap I’d throw out a number like 33 percent higher turnover rate there. Happens sometimes…but the majority of the time D easily reading such a stale predictable O. But..just not getting why WR not separating enough and QB in tighter windows or flat out having DBs jumping routes it’s unexpected more interceptions result? Trying to understand how any other results could be expected under those D advantage plays. How could it not be poster material of what will happen when D reads your play correctly? Tighter windows on the receiver …which can’t possibly mean easier passing for any QB. Is there any debate more separation created by a receiver makes for an easier passing completion from the QB? Do we all agree on this much? Or is it still QB just bad execution during average play circumstances? AJ and Smitty so incredible…it’s kind of easy to point towards they still got stats. So coaching was great…won the game…stats produced. All just ignoring what happened. AJ and Smitty overcame everything so much more difficult than should be expected. Secondary knows exactly their route…couldn’t be stopped with those two. But wouldn’t they have done even more if just provided average circumstances to achieve in? Coach had that WR get 1000 yards…but is there any possible version they should have produced 1300 in just normal expected O? Not talking great playcalling boost even. Just whole D not knowing the play presnap. Feels like so much been going on. AJ and Smitty overcame…produced very well…so never considering very good stats should have actually been fantastic stats? Got to the playoffs every year. Must be coaching. Because he dug us a hole if 2-5 that carried that team there, right? Or 2023 10-1 team all time collapsed…but made the playoffs. Great coaching with a one loss team falling to can’t be 3 win cards..or even be competitive versus lowest playoff team. Freaking terrible coaching. On D blame Rosie switching to Patricia complete disaster.
May 19, 20251 yr Everybody power ranking your team number one…but great coaching has that team get blown out by Baker and the Bucs winning the worst division? Best HC ever for the Eagles doing that…what? Really? Worst collapse I think ever seen that wasn’t caused by injuries. But great coaching..made the playoffs you know…got all those wins before everything imploded.

You guys celebrating that coach as greatest? From what I have observed what happened is that you stopped having two-way football discussions and replaced those discussions with one-way football lectures like the "Just asking …” post you made above. Instead of a back and forth where "all men are created equal” you replaced it with a lecture with no back and forth where you were saying " I am the professor and you are the lowly students.” It is also hard to have a two-way discussion when one side of the discussion doesn’t wait for the other side to respond, but instead responds and then responds again and then again. As has been pointed out to you you have posted as many as 65 comments (as part of your lectures) without anyone else posting even once. That kind of deluge of defensiveness doesn’t leave much room for "serious football discussions”JMOP.S. football discussions talk about all three components of the game … Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. Your lectures almost exclusively focus on Offense. There is no balance or thoroughness there.

Just no DB can do better than the WR taking what’s given while knowing what he’s going to do instead of reacting. That’s a big strong target guaranteed to gain a yard of separation off his cut(pretty much any version).None of these players are rookies. You act like an OC has to change their diapers. If AJ and Smitty don't know how to run routes by now we're in serious trouble. An OC's job is to find ways for them to take what the O DOESN'T give you and while it's "much easier" to take what they give you that is a sign of lax/ineffective coaching. You need to go out there and force the D to do whatever you want them to do, to open a window of opportunity for your QB to throw a strike. It's also the WR's job to study who will be covering them. No one is handcuffing AJ. Routes are routes, they all learn most of the same ones. WR's have to learn how to trick the DB's into making committed moves, then doing something else. If you can't do that you have to "out athlete" them. This is league wide once again, not a fixation in Philly. It's about talent and why the top guys get paid. This is why you blew the Reagor pick. Flat out straight speed is nearly useless as an attribute if that is your only strength. Of course you can't be a deadbeat on speed, but it's overrated. A guy could run a 4 flat 40 and be an awful WR. First can he do that for 40 plays a game? if he can you may have something, but that is highly doubtful. Once I know a WR is "fast enough" you look at cone and shuttle times. The cone drill will show you his agility "aka "quickness". The shuttle will show you how reactionary he is and how his hips work, then whatever time he ran can he run that time all game consistently. but those are rookie things to scout. The top pros already have all those attributes(why you pay them). Then you have other factors like how high can they jump for a contested ball and how strong is their upper body so they aren't intimidated. AJ can check all those boxes and Smitty falls under the "quick/elusive blanket. Being a master at the last ones are why you pay top dollar(and believe me they know). Slot guys vary and can be changed per play on what the play is designed to do. But you know all that. Curl and slant routes are hard to defend(I wish we would use these more) and those tend to wear a DB down over time since you are forcing them to make additional moves to defend you. Getting the timing down by the QB who over time learns his receivers nuances(we can call this "chemistry") is one of the most vital things to be effective. All these things fit together in tandem and getting all the involved players to that point is very difficult. If any of them are having an off day, you will struggle. TE has similar traits, but those guys are bigger, heavier guy who can move defenders to get that open window. IDK why I an writing all this, football fans should already know all of this. Manning/Harrison was, for me, one of the best tandems in history. Many plays were automatic and Manning could let the ball fly because he knew exactly what moves Marvin would put on a DB and exactly where he would be on the field. He could almost do this blindfolded. Hurts made some nice strides over the last year in understanding those nuances now that he isn't panic throwing. The offensive changes during the bye got him settled down, to where he can make those reads and deliver. Less is more. The accuracy improved significantly, the passes were not rushed and most importantly the turnovers stopped. We know Hurts is not Manning, but he is now effective in the scheme we run and I'm sure he works on arm strength daily in the gym. Stop with the "big picture" baloney because the only picture the WR sees is how to beat 1 man and do it consistently. There is no big picture for him, it's 1 vs 1 vs the ball in flight. Once you leave the LOS it's a small box to work in(aka catch radius) while running at full speed. No "big picture." One play at a time, beat your man. it's your job. Do your job. If the QB does his you have a nice strike. Sorry for the essay. I shouldn't have had to write it. There is more if you want my opinion. GREAT QB's can put a ball into a 1 foot cube 50 yards away(try this on your own from even 15 yards away LOL).Brees was one of the best at this IMO and he was a smallish QB. Hurts is getting better at that accuracy. Sometimes that's the only window you will get...........all game............ 12 inches square

It's about getting a team of men to pursue a single goal, to understand and follow the path, and to support each other along the way. Nick is outstanding at that. Look at the videos the team puts out each week during the season. You hear Nick at meetings talk about toughness and work and details and connection.
